North Korea Says US Has Nothing To Offer If Nuke Talks Resumed

A week after North Korea resumed its "dotard" insults at President Trump and their ambassador to the United Nations said further denuclearization talks are no longer needed, Reuters reported Thursday via Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) that, even if denuclearization talks resumed between both countries, the Trump administration has nothing to offer:

North Korea's foreign ministry criticized the Trump administration for meeting with officials at the UN Security Council and suggested that it would be ready to respond to any corresponding measures that Washington imposes.

"The United States said about corresponding measure at the meeting, as we have said we have nothing to lose and we are ready to respond to any corresponding measure that the US chooses," said KCNA citing a North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesperson.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The real problem, to which President Trump appears to be utterly tone-deaf, is that issue of "quid pro quo", meaning, "If YOU do something, I will reciprocate by doing something."

But the American posture appears to be, to both Kim Jung Un, and North Korea; the following; "You ... do everything we have asked; then we will consider doing something for you."

This is the absolute antithesis of true negotiations ; and what President Trump may reap from this, is more nuclear North Korean tests, greater North Korean Nuclear capabilities, and more protection from China.

Experts: Israeli System Constitutes Apartheid, Crime against Humanity

Analyses by Professors Richard Falk and Virginia Tilley confirm that Israel is perpetrating ‘apartheid,’ a system of racism and discrimination that under international law constitutes a ‘crime against humanity.’ The authors conclude that Israel’s practice of racial-ethnic domination is the fundamental obstacle to peace.

They state that rather than focus on the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza and an illusory “two-state solution,” those seeking a longterm solution must focus on ending Israel’s apartheid system.

How NASA's Next Mars Rover Will Hunt for Alien Life

Spotting signs of long-dead life is a tall order for a lonely robot on a faraway world, but NASA's next Mars rover should be up to the challenge, mission team members said.

NASA's 2020 Mars rover is scheduled to launch next summer and touch down in February 2021 inside the Red Planet's 28-mile-wide (45 kilometers) Jezero Crater, which scientists think hosted a lake and river delta in the ancient past.

The six-wheeled robot will then scour the area for potential biosignatures. This work will consist of observing Jezero rocks in fine textural detail and using several spectrometers to map geochemistry precisely onto that texture, Mars 2020 deputy project scientist Katie Stack Morgan told reporters today (Dec. 10) here at the annual fall meeting of the American Geophysical Union (AGU).

The Israel Lobby’s Hidden Hand in the Theft of Iraqi and Syrian Oil

“We want to bring our soldiers home. But we did leave soldiers because we’re keeping the oil,” President Trump stated on November 3, before adding, “I like oil. We’re keeping the oil.”

Though he had promised a withdrawal of U.S. troops from their illegal occupation of Syria, Trump shocked many with his blunt admission that troops were being left behind to prevent Syrian oil resources from being developed by the Syrian government and, instead, kept in the hands of whomever the U.S. deemed fit to control them, in this case, the U.S.-backed Kurdish-majority militia known as the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

What happened to all of the tiny houses for the homeless in Dallas? Curious Texas investigates

The cottages’ residents are chosen from the “most expensive” among the chronically homeless — people who have been on the street for years and who may have been repeatedly hospitalized for addicition and mental health problems.

In 2016, the Morning News reported that it cost taxpayers an estimated $40,000 every year to incarcerate a chronically homeless person in the Dallas County Jail or treat him or her at Parkland Memorial Hospital.

For residents housed at the cottages, that figure drops to $15,000 year, Siburt said.

“Housing is a form of health care,” he said.

The American Empire Will Fall, Not America Itself

The collapse of an entire nation is as spectacular as it is rare. For a nation to simply cease to exist it must suffer such absolute defeat across the entire spectrum of what constitutes a nation; economically, militarily, culturally, socially and politically.

What is much more common is a transition from existing, prevailing socioeconomic, political and military orders to new ones driven by new, emerging special interests. It can happen quickly and violently, or take place as a long-term process with ups and downs and both constructive and destructive processes intertwining.

For the United States, a massive nation with the third largest population on the planet, the largest military and still currently the largest economy, for it to suffer such full-spectrum defeat is impossible.

Is Zoltan's Market Doomsday Imminent? Here Are The Two Things To Watch

The first thing to watch to determine if the repocalypse 2.0 is about to hit, is the repo rate itself.

While the overnight general collateral repo rate remains dormant, the same can not be said about its forward cousin, the "turn" repo rate which covers the year end period of Dec 31-Jan 2, and which as we pointed out last night, has jumped to 4.10% as of Tuesday, and which on Wednesday moved wider by another 5bps to 4.15%, according to Curvature securities.

William Barr Has Suddenly Become Chatty—and He’s Provided Quite an Information Dump

In each of two video appearances, on NBC News and at Wall Street Journal’s “CEO Council,” Attorney General Barr provided the same basic information and views about the U.S. intelligence community’s actions against the Trump campaign in 2016 and 2017. A criminal investigation is underway and being led by U.S. Attorney John Durham.

Barr was motivated to make the public statements, he said, by the misreporting and confusion surrounding Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report issued on Dec. 9. It found serious government surveillance abuses but no evidence of political bias on the part of the offending FBI officials and agents.

Below are 24 points Barr felt the need to make after the release of the Horowitz report. (All of the information is attributed to Barr.)

UK General Election 2019 FINAL Seats Per Political Party Forecast

Therefore my FINAL FORECAST CONCLUSION is that the Tories will win 326 seats at the 12th December General Election. And even if they miss this forecast by as many as 4 seats i.e. converge lower towards my core house prices based forecast of 322. Then they will still be able to govern as a minority government. Also note that my final forecast conclusion only deviates from my original UK house prices based forecast of 24th November by just 4 seats i.e. 326 vs 322.

With my final tory seats forecast settled I can now fill in the blanks for what the other parties are likely to achieve.

Windows 10 warning: Microsoft says new threat leaves 44 million at risk – are YOU affected

Microsoft has confirmed that 44 million account details have been leaked. If your details were published online, you will need to change any other accounts that use the same email address and password combination – since hackers will be able to login to any with the same details.

That could leaves users’ social media accounts, email address, or worse yet, bank details vulnerable to cybercriminals.

The vast leak was unearthed by Microsoft’s threat research team. They carried out a routine scan of all Microsoft accounts between January and March – these details were then compared with a database of more than three billion sets of leaked login credentials. Out of the three billion or more, Microsoft got 44 million matches. It’s unclear how these email address and passwords were stolen and published online.

House approves $738 billion defense bill recognizing Donald Trump's Space Force as the sixth branch of the military and approving paid family leave for federal workers

The House of Representatives approved on Wednesday a $738 billion bill setting policy for the U.S. Department of Defense on everything from family leave to fighter jets and the creation of a Space Force that has been a priority for President Donald Trump.

The count in the Democratic-controlled chamber was 377-48, enough to send the conference report on the National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA, to the Senate, where a vote is expected by the end of next week.

Trump has promised to sign the legislation as soon as it passes Congress.

Trump had crowed about the 'U.S. Space Force' provision, which mostly reorganizes existing personnel into a new branch of the Air Force. The House had passed the idea in previous years under GOP control only to see it die in the Senate.

“The cost of this war and regime change wars and the nation-building that follows is immeasurable in many ways but it’s measurable in the ways that have been detailed in that Washington Post report,” she told Hill.TV on Tuesday.
