"Terrifying": New Documents Reveal Secret Gov't Rules For Spying On US Journalists

Journalists and free press advocates are responding with alarm to newly released documents revealing the U.S. government's secret rules for using Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court orders to spy on reporters, calling the revelations "important" and "terrifying."

The documents - obtained and released by the Freedom of the Press Foundation and the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University through an ongoing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed last November - confirm long held suspicions that federal officials can target journalists with FISA orders.

Trying to ‘Kill Critical Media’: DOJ Using FISA Courts to Spy on Journalists

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit brought by the Freedom of the Press Foundation and the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University has revealed for the first time the US Justice Department’s rules for targeting journalists with secret court orders under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) of 1978.

Until now, it had only been suspected that FISA court orders were being used to target journalists for surveillance — but now there's a much better reason to believe so, thanks to these nonprofits' lawsuit.

The DOJ determined that 14 pages from six documents, dating from February 2014 to March 2015, "containing records responsive" to the groups' request were "appropriate for release with excisions," the release reads. The Freedom of the Press Foundation highlighted the most revealing passage, in a March 19, 2015, memo from then-Attorney General Eric Holder, as follows:

UK social services are taking away record numbers of kids…leaving parents terrified

Having your children taken away by the state is one of a mom’s or dad’s worst nightmares. Unfortunately, this happens to thousands of parents in the United Kingdom every year--and not always with good cause.

According to the UK Sun, the number of children ripped from their parents through “forced care orders” rose from 7, 550 to 10, 130 in 2017: an increase of 34%. When you factor in children taken away with the parents’ say-so, the number rises to 32,810.

Anyone who reads the British newspapers or women’s magazines knows stories about children who were taken away because social workers wrongly accused the parents of abuse. One of the best known is that of Jill Goss, whose daughter Alyssa was taken from her when she was 10 weeks old.

Snowden Validated: European Court Says the Mass Surveillance He Exposed Violates Privacy Rights

When Edward Snowden revealed that the government was secretly collecting and storing mass amounts of our private communications data, he wasn't just talking about the United States government. He also exposed the United Kingdom's intelligence agency (Government Communications Headquarters, or GCHQ) as doing the same overseas.

Today the European Court of Human Rights ruled that the U.K.'s mass collection of everybody's internet communications data violated privacy and failed to provide sufficient safeguards. The Guardian explains that after Snowden exposed the British government's role in citizen surveillance, tapping into communication networks to suck on that massive firehose of data, 14 human rights and privacy groups filed suit against the U.K.

Justifying landgrab, Israel says it is ‘allowed to ignore international law’ anywhere it wants

The Israeli government has recently claimed that it can “legislate anywhere in the world”, that it is “entitled to violate the sovereignty of foreign countries”, and that “is allowed to ignore the directives of international law in any field it desires”. This was written in an official response letter to the Supreme Court last month.

On the face of it, these are audacious claims. Is it really that bad? I would say that it’s even worse. The background to these statements is a new law from last year, which legalizes outright theft of Palestinian land.

Our choice: WW3 or recognizing post-9/11 US ‘wars on terror’ as lie-started, Orwellian-illegal Wars of Aggression

*hyperlinks/videos live at source*

“You're the real deal in a world of imposters
And I've seen the program make men out of monsters.” ~ Avert Brothers, True Sadness

The following are two submitted 1-page briefs requested by Jim Fetzer and Robert David Steele for 9/11 Truth: Citizen Intelligence Briefing for the President of the United States of America.

Robert rejected the first one as unable to clearly address its topics within one page, liked the second and promised inclusion in the Briefing because the topic of lie-started and Orwellian-illegal Wars of Aggression following 9/11 is crucial to understand the purpose of 9/11 as a false flag attack.

The final editorial choice was to not include this topic, which I agree might distract from the principal subject of what happened on 9/11.

Of course, a comprehensive briefing for a later date would include:
relevant history of what happened before 9/11 to explain context of the false flag event,

Black Mirror is almost a reality: China says it's on track to launch its dystopian scorecard system that ranks citizens on every aspect of their behaviour by 2020

Completing community service and buying Chinese products is thought to improve your social standing, which is given as a score out of 800.

Those rated 'top citizens' get VIP treatment at airports, discounted loans, waived deposits on hotel and car rentals and fast-tracking to elite universities.

Fraud, tax evasion and smoking in non-smoking areas can drop your ranking, as well as buying items in supermarkets that the government doesn't approve of - such as alcohol or video games.

Those with a low social score are barred from the best jobs, cut off from high-speed internet and even blocked from sending their children to top schools.

Suspending the Constitution: In America Today, the Government Does Whatever It Wants

We can pretend that the Constitution, which was written to hold the government accountable, is still our governing document.

The reality we must come to terms with, however, is that in America we live in today, the government does whatever it wants, freedom be damned.

“We the people” have been terrorized, traumatized, and tricked into a semi-permanent state of compliance by a government that cares nothing for our lives or our liberties.

The bogeyman’s names and faces may change over time (terrorism, the war on drugs, illegal immigration, etc.), but the end result remains the same: our unquestioning acquiescence to anything the government wants to do in exchange for the phantom promise of safety and security.

The Bluffer’s Guide to Bombing Syria

The propaganda mills of the British and American governments – spokespersons, media, think tanks – are working overtime churning out ‘talking points’ to justify the upcoming large scale bombing of Syria on the pretext of use of prohibited weapons.

40% Of Venezuela Stores Go Bust After 3,000% Minimum Wage Hike

The "dream" of socialism has once again collided with the realities of economics, after nearly 40% of stores in Venezuela have been forced to close following a mandated 3,000% increase in minimum wages by the Maduro government, according to the Miami Herald, citing the National Council of Commerce and Services of Venezuela.

Further complicating the situation are price caps on goods sold in stores - which are now selling below cost, and cannot raise prices to cover the mandatory increases in salaries.

If store owners are caught raising prices, they face fines and prison.

"We have inspections, and they force us to sell at last month’s prices," said Uzcátegui. "That takes money away from the business because of the hyperinflation, when you can’t even sell at yesterday’s prices because you lose money."

The CIA and the Media: 50 Historical Facts the World Needs to Know

Since the end of World War Two the Central Intelligence Agency has been a major force in US and foreign news media, exerting considerable influence over what the public sees, hears and reads on a regular basis. CIA publicists and journalists alike will assert they have few, if any, relationships, yet the seldom acknowledged history of their intimate collaboration indicates a far different story–indeed, one that media historians are reluctant to examine.

When seriously practiced, the journalistic profession involves gathering information concerning individuals, locales, events, and issues. In theory such information informs people about their world, thereby strengthening “democracy.” This is exactly the reason why news organizations and individual journalists are tapped as assets by intelligence agencies and, as the experiences of German journalist Udo Ulfkotte (entry 47 below) suggest, this practice is at least as widespread today as it was at the height of the Cold War.

California professor Christine Ford claims Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her: 'It derailed me'

Many Republicans immediately pushed back Sunday, saying it was "disturbing" that the decades-old allegations surfaced just days before the Judiciary Committee is set to vote on whether to advance Kavanaugh's confirmation to the Senate floor. Republicans have given no indication that they intend to delay Thursday's key vote, as a series of Democratic senators demanded throughout the day; however, Senate Judiciary Committee spokesman Taylor Foy said Chairman Chuck Grassley was working to set up follow-up calls with Kavanaugh and Ford in light of the Post report.

"It’s disturbing that these uncorroborated allegations from more than 35 years ago, during high school, would surface on the eve of a committee vote after Democrats sat on them since July," Grassley, R-Iowa, said in a statement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That "she couldn't remember how she came to be at the house" makes me believe that she was potentially high on some kind of drug at the time, and someone had sexually assaulted her, in her blacked-out condition, but now, she finds an exquisitely convenient time to lay the blame on Kavanaugh, as it is politically expedient for the Democrats to stop his confirmation "by any means necessary."

Kavanaugh is "Getting Borked" by this. And let me break down what that means in the following article The ever-present history of getting Borked

10 Reasons The U.S. Is No Longer The Land Of The Free

Below is today’s column in the Sunday Washington Post. The column addresses how the continued rollbacks on civil liberties in the United States conflicts with the view of the country as the land of the free. If we are going to adopt Chinese legal principles, we should at least have the integrity to adopt one Chinese proverb: “The beginning of wisdom is to call things by their right names.” We seem as a country to be in denial as to the implications of these laws and policies. Whether we are viewed as a free country with authoritarian inclinations or an authoritarian nation with free aspirations (or some other hybrid definition), we are clearly not what we once were. [Update: in addition to the column below, a later column in the Washington Post explores more closely the loss of free speech rights in the West].

Flashback: Red Cross 'Diverted Assets' During Storms' Aftermath To Focus On Image

Within hours of Superstorm Sandy slamming the East Coast two years ago, Americans opened their wallets to help — donating millions to the first charity that came to mind: the American Red Cross.

The truth, however, is different.

The venerable charity's track record in dealing with the megastorm is now being challenged by an unusual cadre of critics — its own employees and records.

Multiple internal documents obtained by NPR and ProPublica along with interviews with top Red Cross officials reveal an organization that struggled to meet the basic needs of victims in the first weeks after the storm. The documents and interviews also depict an organization so consumed with public relations that it hindered the charity's ability to provide disaster services.

A VIEW OF THE DEADLY WORLD ORDER

As of five years ago half of the wealth in the world belonged to the top 1%. Furthermore, the top 10% hold 85% of the total world wealth. But these figures do not tell the whole story. A Credit Suisse Report, “Wealth Distribution & Gini (2013)” tells us the damnable reality of disproportionate value our world is faltering under. While some would argue that the United States of America’s citizens being thirty times wealthier on average than Russian citizens is some kind of golden badge of excellence, others would argue about who is benefiting from whom. Countries like Denmark, with virtually no natural resources, have a citizenry 25 times richer than Russians, 12 times richer than South Africans, 35 times wealthier than Venezuelans, and nearly twice as prosperous as people from oil-rich Qatar. Don’t take my word, parous the unbelievable statistics yourself.

POLICE STUMPED IN SEARCH FOR MISSING WIKILEAKS-LINKED CYBERSECURITY EXPERT

Nobody has heard from cybersecurity expert and occasional Wikileaks collaborator Arjen Kamphuis since he checked out of his hotel in Bodo, Norway one month ago.

In the intervening weeks, items purportedly belonging to Kamphuis, including his ID and a recently purchased kayak, were discovered by a local fisherman 50 kilometers from his hotel. While this would at first seem to suggest some type of fatal accident, in a strange twist, authorities say that both Kamphuis' work and mobile phones were briefly switched on more than 1,700 km from Bodo 10 days after Kamphuis - who is Dutch and was purportedly traveling back to Amsterdam when he disappeared - was seen leaving his hotel.

Webmaster's Commentary:

My best guesses here are that he has either been done away with, by an excellent hired assassin who knows how to leave no trail whatsoever, or that the man is running for his life, and knows his "threat assessment" is near to death, because of the way in which Wikileaks has consistently ticked off people in power by telling the American public the truth about them.

FORGET PUTIN: 4 REASONS WHY TRUMP IS NETANYAHU’S MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE

In the months leading up to the 25th anniversary of the Oslo Accords, the U.S. has colluded with Israel in a string of policies and decisions that completely undermine the legitimacy of the agreement, not to mention Palestinian claims to justice, freedom and ultimately peace. As these policies unfold, one cannot help recalling the words of the great Palestinian writer Ghassan Kanafani, who said that talking with the Israelis is “a conversation between the sword and the neck.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

When one is owned by Sheldon Adelson, as is President Trump, because
Adelson has kept throwing all possible contribution money in President Trump's direction, you do his - and Netanyahu's - bidding.

And where this agenda ultimately will most probably take the Unhinged, Surveilled, State of Amerika, is as follows:

It appears very likely that soon, the US will bomb Syria in Idlib, as the result of a staged, faked chemical attack against it, or the result of Syrian and Russian forces attacking the rebel stronghold here, which can potentially morph into a shooting war between the US and Russia Russia there. Tel Aviv wants regime change in Damascus, and apparently, President Trump has promised Netanyahu that he will deliver...but only at the costs of American money, and American blood, rather than Israeli; such a deal!!

It appears that President Trump, realizing that he cannot cause all countries who buy oil from Iran, to stop buying it, may move forward with either a false flag in the Gulf, to prevent Iranian oil from being shipped anywhere, or an outright attack against Tehran, again to generate Israeli-desired regime change here, and again, only at the costs of American blood and American money; such a deal!! Timing is significant here, because it is Sunday, 4 November, which he has given as the "drop dead" date for all countries to stop buying Iranian oil. I would suggest that, between the 4th and Tuesday, the 6th of that month, the date of US mid-terms, that we may well see military action against Iran. I do not know what Russia will do under those circumstances, but my gut is telling me that Russia's Putin - and the Russian Duma - will not be sitting, arms folded, and singing "Kumbayah" should this happen, and may well come to Iran's defense.

So what we have here, are two scenarios which are all upside for Israel's foreign policies, but all downside for the US government, and the US people.

That President Trump is unable to distinguish what is really for the best for the American people, such as not going to war against these countries, and negotiating for resources the US may well need in the future, rather than going to a world war to control them, is one of the most terrifying aspects of this Presidency.

If the rumours regarding Sec-def Mattis' departure from the Cabinet are true, happening right after the mid-terms, with a new Sec-Def confirmed, look for a potential reinstatement of the draft; Trump won't do it before, because he knows it's an election year loser for the Republicans.

I wish I could see a happier outcome for this country, unshackled at the ankles from Israel's foreign policy objectives; but unfortunately, looking at all the potential wars looming to service the Zionist dream for an "Eretz Israel", or greater Israel, I just cannot see such an outcome at this moment in time.

US STATE DEPARTMENT REVOKES PLO AMBASSADOR FAMILY VISAS

The United States revoked visas for the family of the Palestine Liberation Organization ambassador, the envoy said on Sunday, the latest development in the worsening relations between the Trump administration and Palestinian leadership, Reuters reports.

Ambassador Husam Zomlot, head of the PLO General Delegation to the United States, said his family, including his two young children, left the United States after being informed their visas would now expire when the diplomatic office is closed next month. The visas were originally set to expire in 2020.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looks as though the Trump Administration is going to take its Israeli-laced, petty vindictiveness toward Palestinians to a new diplomatic low, with this gesture.

CREDIT SUISSE LAMBASTED BY FINANCIAL WATCHDOG OVER FIFA MONEY LAUNDERING

Switzerland’s financial supervisor FINMA says one of the country’s largest banks, Credit Suisse, failed to properly oversee its anti-money laundering procedures for FIFA, as well as Brazil’s and Venezuela’s state oil companies.
According to the regulator, the banking multinational showed serious “deficiencies” in its attempts to counter illegal financial activities when dealing with soccer’s ruling body FIFA, Brazilian oil corporation Petrobras, and Venezuela's state energy company PDVSA.

“To combat money laundering effectively, every relevant department within the bank must be able to see all the client's relationships with the bank instantly and automatically,” FINMA said, adding that some progress had been made so far.

SUNSPOT SOLAR OBSERVATORY REOPENS AFTER FBI CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION

Sunspot National Solar Observatory resumed normal operations Monday after an FBI quarantine and investigation of the site, a nearby post office, and several area residences came to an end.

Little to no details are known about the ‘security threat’ which prompted the deployment of military Black Hawk helicopters and numerous local, state, and federal law enforcement officials on Sept 6 to seize the site and surrounding area making it off limits.

According to reports, the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy and the National Science Foundation reportedly made the call to shut the facility down on the Sept 6 but that does not explain the presence of military helicopters and so many federal authorities.

AURA released the following statement on Sunday:

Sunspot Solar Observatory is transitioning back to regular operations as of September 17th

Webmaster's Commentary:

Why did residents in the area have to evacuate their homes?!?

What was the real threat here?!?

I am sorry, but if this is a tax-payer-funded entity, the public has the right to know under what circumstances this facility was evacuated and closed down, and what had happened here.

NORTH CAROLINA NUCLEAR POWER PLANT DECLARES “UNUSUAL EVENT” FOLLOWING STORM, “HOT SHUTDOWN”

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is being tight-lipped about an “unusual event” which occurred at the Brunswick Nuclear Plant last Saturday which forced a “hot shutdown” of both the plant’s Generation IV-type reactors 1 and 2.
The NRC classified the emergency as an “unusual event” but provided little to no details on the situation.

Additionally, the NRC reports that weather conditions from Tropical Storm Florence are currently preventing workers from accessing the plant.

Fred to Take Wheel of Ship of State: Will Implement Thoughtful and Reasonable Measures

Fred on everything will save us!

I have no choice. I must don the mantle of greatness and take the reins of the country. Desperate times call for desperate measures. I will run for the office of dictator, or President in American parlance.

If Lindsey Graham complains that we need to kill more puzzled goatherds, I will have him inserted into the oil well on top of the Republicans and pseudo-Cubans, with Oprah tamped down on top as a sort of cork. There is nothing in Afghanistan that Americans need or want, except opium products, and private enterprise now provides these in abundance. Check the nearest street corner, or ask your kids.

Starving Yemenis forced to eat vine leaves to stay alive

In a remote pocket of northern Yemen, many families with starving children have nothing to eat but the leaves of a local vine, boiled into a sour, acidic green paste. International aid agencies have been caught off guard by the extent of the suffering there as parents and children waste away.

The main health center in Aslam district was flooded with dozens of emaciated children during a recent visit by the Associated Press.

Excruciatingly thin toddlers, eyes bulging, sat in a plastic washtub used in a make-shift scale as nurses weighed them one by one. Their papery skin was stretched tight over pencil-like limbs and knobby knees. Nurses measured their forearms, just a few centimeters in diameter, marking the worst stages of malnutrition.

At least 20 children are known to have died of starvation already this year, more than three years into the country’s ruinous civil war, in the province that includes the district.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US government and military are complicit with Saudi Arabia in war crimes committed in Yemen.

This is what life looks like to Yemeni children on the bring of death, due to starvation, ensured by the blockading of Yemeni ports, courtesy of US-enabled Saudi blockade, because all food, medicine, and humanitarian aid must be delivered by ship. Warning: graphic image:

Images: Yemeni children dying from starvation, courtesy of Saudi/US blockading of Yemen's ports

But we all have to do more than be sad that these kids are dying; we must be peacefully pro-active, by calling our alleged Congressional Representatives, and letting them understand that we are smart enough to realize that this collective punishment of Yemenis is a war crime.

Make sure that they understand that not working to stop American involvement in these atrocities will be a deal breaker, come November's the mid-terms, and ask them politely if they would be willing to go on the record, to support, or condemn, these actions.

Israeli troops kill boy, two men in Gaza protests - medics

Israeli soldiers killed three Palestinians, one of them an 11-year-old boy, and wounded at least 248 others taking part on Friday in weekly protests at the fortified Gaza Strip border, Palestinian medical officials said.

The Israeli military said it used force necessary to repel 13,000 Palestinians who massed at several points at the fence.

Some hurled rocks, fire-bombs and grenades at troops under cover of smoke from burning tyres, injuring a soldier, and nine Palestinians briefly crossed into Israel, the military said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These demonstrations will end in one of two ways; either there is a negotiated settlement between Israel and the Palestinians, affirming the Palestinian Right of Return, or a complete annihilation of Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.

Given Israeli government and military hubris, unfortunately, I fear that it will be the latter, rather than the former outcome.

President Trump will probably get notified after the fact, and it will probably be carried out when Americans are distracted by football, food, and possibly during the American family festival of Thanksgiving, if Tel Aviv thinks it can wait that long to strike.

But there is one thing about which I am certain; these protests, and the assassinations of innocents by the IDF, will continue until one of the two outcomes I have described above, actually happens.

EU Nations Consider Clearing House to Avoid Iran Sanctions

The big stumbling block with EU companies continuing to trade with Iran is financing. US threats to punish companies involved in such trade have scared away a lot of banks, despite EU assurances that they will protect companies.

This clearing house would aim to avoid banks, and money changing hands across borders, entirely. One European company could pay the clearing house for imported Iranian oil, and the clearing house would give that money to another EU company providing goods or services to Iran.

While the US theoretically wants to sanction all trade with Iran, particularly oil imports, they have limited options to punish a European company whose business is to buy Iranian oil, or European industrial firms with projects inside Iran.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This attempt to deprive Iran it's oil revenue.... was never fully thought through.

So what is President Trump going to do when he realizes that the EU is not going to comply with sanctions, declare war on them?!?

Given his proclivity for preferring war over negotiations, I have to wonder.

Koreas Open Liaison Office at Kaesong, Establishing Permanent Line of Communication

In a major move to improve communications along the demilitarized zone, North and South Korea have opened the joint liaison office in Kaesong on Friday. This move comes just days before the third Kim-Moon summit between the nations’ respective leaders.

The liaison office was said to be facing a possible delay in the fact of US opposition, with the State Department saying that providing electricity and functioning heat to such an office might amount to a violation of US energy sanctions.

The office was originally imagined as primarily facilitating South Korean corporations’ operations at Kaesong Industrial Park. Now though, it will also serve as a de facto joint embassy for both nations, allowing for a direct permanent diplomatic link.

DAYS AFTER 9/11 TULSI GABBARD SLAMS "BETRAYAL OF AMERICAN PEOPLE" OVER SYRIA

Considering that Congresswoman Gabbard herself is an Iraq war veteran and current Army reserve officer who served in the aftermath of 9/11, it's all the more power and rare that a sitting Congress member would make such forceful comments exposing the hypocrisy and contradictions of US policy.

She called out President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence by name on the House floor in her speech:

“Two days ago, President Trump and Vice President Pence delivered solemn speeches about the attacks on 9/11, talking about how much they care about the victims of al-Qaeda’s attack on our country. But, they are now standing up to protect the 20,000 to 40,000 al-Qaeda and other jihadist forces in Syria, and threatening Russia, Syria, and Iran, with military force if they dare attack these terrorists."

Webmaster's Commentary:

If Representative Gabbard decides to run for national office, I will support her completely; she is a refreshing kind of honest you rarely see coming out of DC.

Unfortunately, her anti-war stance, as a Veteran, will not win her points with the military/industrial complex, so she most probably doesn't have a chance of a snowball surviving in hell.

But the American people, ALL OF THEM, need to hear what Tulsi has to say about these endless wars, to conquer the world's resources, and to insure that products are only sold in US dollars.

AFTER CUTING ALL UNWRA HUMANITARIAN AID, US TO AWARD ISRAEL WITH $3.3B/YEAR IN MILITARY AID

A massive spending bill, which would deliver $3.3 billion dollars in military aid to Israel over the next year, passed the House on Wednesday under cover of a media blackout. The U.S. Senate had passed a different version of the same bill in early August, a vote that also went largely unreported.

Now, after the House’s passage of a slightly altered version of the Senate’s spending bill, officially titled the “Ileana Ros-Lehtinen United States-Israel Security Assistance Authorization Act of 2018,” all that remains is for the two chambers of Congress to reconcile their versions before the product is sent to President Trump’s desk to be signed into law. According to Skopos Labs, the bill now has a 90 percent chance of being enacted. If enacted, the bill will be the largest aid package in American history.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sheldon Adelson must be high-fiving himself right now, for having purchased a presidency (as he has done with Donald Trump's), and insuring that all of the US foreign policy in the Middle East is 100% dictated by Tel Aviv.

The deep cutting of US aid to Palestinian humanitarian organizations, coupled with this defense bill to greatly benefit both Israel's offensive and defensive posture, are but two demonstrations of who owns DC, when it comes to the Middle East.

The next demonstrations of Israel's having US foreign policy by its gonads, will be a US war against Russia and Syria in Syria, followed an invasion of Iran after that, most probably right around the time of the US mid-term elections.

Understand this; these wars will only result in costs in American blood, and American money; not in Israeli blood or money at all.

And after the mid-terms, look for the potential return of the draft in this country. And do not expect for any of the Trump or Kushner Families to be bothered having to serve; after all, they... are monied families, and monied families always have creative ways to avoid military service, unless it is behind a desk, with zero probability of being killed or maimed for life in these coming wars.

MILITARY INTERVENTION IN VENEZUELA ‘ON THE TABLE,’ SAYS OAS SECRETARY GENERAL

The head of the Organization of American States (OAS), accused by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro of being a “CIA agent,” says military intervention against Caracas should not be ruled out as a response to the ongoing crisis.
OAS Secretary-General Luis Almagro has hinted that the bloc may consider taking military action in Venezuela if it runs out of diplomatic options in its bid to alleviate the plight of people in the crisis-stricken country.

“With regards to a military intervention aimed at overthrowing the regime of Nicolas Maduro, I think we should not exclude any option,” Almagro said on Friday.

Venezuelans have been fleeing to neighboring countries in droves due to shortages of food and water, as well as soaring inflation and unemployment at home.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Are you flipping kidding me, that OAS Secretary-General Luis Almagro is actually floating the idea of an invasion, occupation, and regime change in Venezuela, to see how it resonates?!?

I would like to hope that the OAS is not pig-headedly stupid as to attempt this; even with Venezuela's current economic woes, I would not bet that the Venezuelan people will "welcome these troops as saviors", throwing roses at their feet.

WHY JOHN BOLTON REALLY HATES THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT

Countries with nothing to fear do not fear the ICC.

Countries with nothing to fear do not fear the ICC. The United States and Israel are very afraid of the ICC. The murder of unarmed civilians is a war crime. So is torture. Israel’s indiscriminate bombing of densely-populated civilian areas, its half-century occupation of Palestinian territory and its construction and expansion of Jews-only settler colonies on Palestinian land are all also illegal under international law. Neither Israel nor the United States has joined the ICC. Other leading human rights violators, including North Korea, China, Saudi Arabia, Myanmar and Ethiopia, have either never joined or have withdrawn from the court.

FEMA to test 'Presidential Alert' system next week

President Donald Trump may soon be communicating with you directly on your phone — even if you don't follow him on Twitter.

Next Thursday, the Federal Emergency Management Agency will do its first test of a system that allows the president to send a message to most U.S. cellphones.

More than 100 mobile carriers, including all the major wireless firms, are participating in the roll out, FEMA stated in a message on its website posted Thursday.

"The EAS [Emergency Alert System] is a national public warning system that provides the President with the communications capability to address the nation during a national emergency," FEMA said.

The test message will have a header that reads "Presidential Alert," according to the agency.

Users whose phones are on will twice hear a tone and vibration and then see an English-only (for now) message: "THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder at the timing of this test, and what "national emergency" information(or false flag disinfo) we will be getting the first time this is actually used for real.

THIS IS THE VIDEO POLICE DIDN'T WANT YOU TO SEE, SHOWING COP SHOOT AT DOG, KILL INNOCENT MOM INSTEAD

In June, the taxpayers of Burlington, Iowa were told that they will be hit with a $2 million bill to pay for a police officer who shot and killed an innocent mother. The tragic scenario was captured on video and the fact that most of that video remained a secret was part of the reason the family received the settlement in the wrongful death suit. However, all that has now changed and the video was released this week.

In May, during a federal court hearing in Davenport, Iowa, officials revealed that the confidential police video—a key piece of evidence in exonerating a cop who killed the innocent mom—did not corroborate the cop’s claims he made before firing the fatal shots that accidentally killed the mother of two.

Now, we have the evidence showing this was true.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Over quite some time now in this country, innocent people, and their pets, have been gunned down by the police with utter impunity, and evidence of this kind of activity routinely suppressed by governmental agencies.

Rather than the citizens of this town (because they did noting wrong) having to bear the burden of a financially challenging, but no less justified wrongful death suit, it should be paid by the police who do these acts, and their police departments, taking the brunt of the financial burden for restitution.

I think such a change might make it clear that lying by police to justify the murder of an innocent person, and their pets, will not be tolerated in this country anymore, period, end of discussion.

'Deadly Exchange': Report Details, Criticizes Israel's Role in Militarizing US Law Enforcement Post 9/11

According to anti-occupation groups, United States law enforcement training with Israeli forces has increased human and civil rights violations.

The Researching the American-Israeli Alliance group, in partnership with anti-occupation group Jewish Voice for Peace released a report detailing the ways in which exchanges between the United States and Israeli state security agencies have reinforced a “security model that justifies flagrant human and civil rights violations” in the wake of the 9/11 attacks.

U.S. CONDUCTS LIVE-FIRE DRILLS WITH SYRIAN 'REBELS' IN RARE DISPLAY AIMED AT RUSSIA

On Thursday an anti-Assad group in Syria's south confirmed to Reuters via its 'rebel' commander that it is conducting rare military exercises with American forces in order to "send a strong message to Russia and Iran that the Americans and the rebels intend to stay and confront any threats to their presence," according to a new Reuters report.

The anti-Assad commander, Colonel Muhanad al Talaa, is part of the Pentagon-backed Maghawir al Thawra group now conducting eight days of "live-fire and ground assault" drills that involve "hundreds" of U.S. troops and allied Syrian insurgents cooperating together.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And I would like to politely remind the White House, Pentagon, State Department and Congress that Russia has staged its own, huge, live-fire exercise in Siberia, Vostok 2018 Vostok 2018 Continues featuring over 300,000 Russian military, plus integrated Chinese military as well.

The Russians are sending a strong signal as well, that should the US attack at Idlib, the Russians may well not be fighting the US military alone, either.

Former police chief in Florida pleads guilty to framing men in racially tinged cases

Five years ago, Biscayne Park Police Chief Raimundo Atesiano bragged to the town’s leaders about his department’s exceptional 100 percent clearance rate on burglaries in the tree-lined suburb north of Miami.

On Friday, however, Atesiano admitted his own criminal behavior was behind the boast to the village commission: He acknowledged at his plea hearing in Miami federal court that he directed three of his police officers to pin a series of unsolved home and vehicle break-ins on three innocent men to perfect the force’s property crimes record.

Atesiano, 52, pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge of depriving the three suspects of their civil rights because he and the officers framed them. Although race was not a factor in the federal case against the former police chief, the three wrongly arrested men are black.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is absolutely disgusting behaviour, but the most horrific thing about it, was that it was possible these police officers might have gotten away with it.

And Attorney General Sessions, where are you when such ignominious, nasty trampling on individuals' rights occurs, like the frames these cops tried to pin on 3 innocent men?!?

You, sir, are absolutely no where to be seen, that is precisely where you are in this case.

The Ritual Burial Of The US Constitution

In the wake of a number of the Lehman and 9/11 commemorations in America, and as a monster storm is once again threatening to cause outsize damage, we find ourselves at a pivotal point in time, which will decide how the country interacts with its own laws, its legal system, its Constitution, its freedom of speech, and indeed if it has sufficient willpower left to adhere to the Constitution as its no. 1 guiding principle.

Alex Jones Was Banned By Twitter For Mean Words, Yet Antifa Groups Calling For Assassination Thrive

Antifa groups are using Twitter and Facebook to advocate for the assassination of President Trump

While social media companies collude to silence right-of-center influencers, violent far-left extremist groups appear to be given a pass. This NYC based antifa group has been using their “leftist privilege” to freely violate Twitter and Facebook Terms of Service. In another glaring example of “non existent social media bias”, this extremist group is apparently allowed to use their social media account to advocate for murder.

The Base is a NYC based “anarchist center” that is run by the Revolutionary Abolitionist Movement, a violent extremist group that we have covered extensively. The extremist group is currently offering downloadable poster and stickers that include images of guns and other calls to violence but the most concerning was an image that depicted the murder of President Donald Trump.

Yellow Journalism of Yellow-Bellied Bob Woodward & the NYT

It takes no time at all. You listen to Bob Woodward’s halting speech. You read his lumpen prose, and you get right away what undergirds his Trump-phobic tome, “Fear: Trump in the White House.”

Naively, the president had expected to fulfill his revolutionary campaign promises to the American voters, an assumption that threw Woodward and the D.C. elites for a loop.

If past is prologue, voters don’t—and should not—get their way. After all, the views of Trump voters on American power are polar opposites of those held by the permanent state.

What does “Boobus Americanus” know? Nothing!

Russia warns about US attempts to prepare global public opinion for new attack on Syria

Russia says it is concerned about the attempts being made by the United States to prepare the global public opinion for new military aggression against Syria.

“Regarding the international political point of view, the most serious concern is using of a very serious range of opportunities by Washington: from statements by officials to comments by biased media, the goal seems to be the preparation of public opinion for … new aggression against Syria,” said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova in a press conference in the capital Moscow on Thursday.

She added that tensions were particularly on the rise in Syria’s northwestern province of Idlib due to a high concentration of militants there.

“Despite the uncovering of plans by militants and representatives of White Helmets to stage the use of chemical weapons by government troops, preparation of the above-mentioned staged action continues inside the Idlib zone,” Zakharova said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The things people need to keep asking themselves, are as follows:

IF, with Russia's help, al Assad has been able to liberate nearly the entire country, why would he be using poison chemicals on his own people?!? This makes utterly zero sense.

IF Syria destroyed its chemical weapons under an international agreement and inspection, how are these chemical agents getting into Syria now?!? Who has smuggled them into the country?!?

The short answer is, the people who want the false flag to happen as a justification for an American attack against Idlib, have had these chemicals smuggled in.

Trump May Replace Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis with a Neocon

Now there are rumors circulating that Mattis will step down in the months ahead. If this happens, who will replace him?

Arkansas senator Cotton (or Graham), Bolton, and Sec. State Pompeo would be an almost ideal triad for Israel and the neocons who faithfully do the apartheid state’s bidding in Congress.

For Cotton, it’s all about Israel and the Likudniks. He received $700,000 for his Senate campaign from the Emergency Committee for Israel.

“During the 2014 Israeli invasion of Gaza, when over 500 Palestinian were killed, Cotton called the Israeli defense force ‘the most moral, humanitarian fighting force in the world.’ In December he said Congress should consider supplying Israel with B-52s and so-called ‘bunker-buster’ bombs for a possible strike against Iran,” Medea Benjamin and Nalini Ramachandran wrote back in March, 2015.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please, Lord; not another neocon Likudnik for Secretary of Defense!!

These people are thoroughly blind to the reality that what may in fact be good for Israeli geopolitics may not, at all, be good for the US, and the costs in blood and money for a potential attack against Iran would be horrific.

Turkey imposes indefinite curfew in over 100 Kurdish villages

Turkish authorities in the Kurdish province of Diyarbakir on Wednesday imposed an indefinite curfew effective immediately as of 4 p.m. local time on at least 116 villages and hamlets, citing an imminent military offensive against Kurdish fighters seeking autonomy.

The Ankara-appointed governor’s office said in a press release that the operation zone covered an area falling in the northern districts of Lice, Hazro, Kulp, Silvan, and Kocakoy, a region several thousand kilometers-square large.

People were told to stay indoors at all times indefinitely until a second order.

The mountainous terrain on the provincial borders of Bingol historically serves Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) guerrillas as a sanctuary.

Since the 2015 collapse of a ceasefire and peace talks between the group labeled by Ankara and its Western allies as “terrorists,” the Turkish army has scores of times conducted large-scale operations to bring the mountains under its full control.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder about the timing here, with vast scores of Turkish groups in Syria, attempting to nibble off a little bit of the country, due to the instability brought about through the US aiding and abetting the terrorists here.

Bangladesh says it won't assimilate Rohingya Muslims

Bangladesh has no plans to take in hundreds of thousands of Rohingya Muslim refugees permanently, its foreign secretary said on Wednesday, adding that they “belong” to Myanmar from where they fled.

Some 700,000 Rohingya refugees crossed from the west of mostly Buddhist Myanmar into Bangladesh from August last year, according to U.N. agencies, when Rohingya insurgent attacks on Myanmar security forces triggered a sweeping military response.

Bangladesh and Myanmar reached a deal in November to begin repatriation within two months, but it has not started, with stateless Rohingya still crossing the border.

“We are not thinking of assimilating them in Bangladesh. They belong to Myanmar,” Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haque told Reuters on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum on ASEAN in Hanoi.

Turkey boosts arms to Syrian rebels as Idlib attack looms - rebel sources

Turkey has stepped up arms supplies to Syrian rebels to help them stave off an expected offensive by the Syrian army and its Russian and Iran-backed allies in the northwest near the Turkish frontier, rebel sources told Reuters.

Senior rebel officials said Turkey had sent more military aid to rebels in and around the Idlib region since a summit meeting with Iran and Russia last week failed to agree a deal to avert a government offensive into the area.

Turkey, which is already hosting 3.5 million Syrian refugees, is warning against such an attack, fearing it could force more Syrians over the border. President Tayyip Erdogan has warned of a humanitarian disaster and security risks for Turkey.

“They pledged complete Turkish military support for a long, protracted battle,” a senior FSA commander who was privy to talks in recent days with senior Turkish officials said, requesting anonymity as he was not authorised to speak publicly.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This assault will be a bloodbath, and neither Syria nor Russia can appear as though they are backing down from their vow to rid Idlib of rebels, but the costs will be horrific.

Pro-Saudi Troops Seize Main Roads Into Yemen’s Port City of Hodeidah

Saudi-backed Yemeni forces have advanced closer to the northern port city of Hodeidah, the main aid port for the northern half of the country. The port is controlled by the Shi’ite Houthi movement, and the Saudi-led forces intend to seize it.

For now, the advancing forces have seized a pair of main roads leading into the city, effectively cutting off the Houthis’ supply line into the city. This also limits the ability of transporting humanitarian aid out of the city.

As the fight over the city drags on, this is increasingly concerning. Hodeidah is the sole source of food for millions in northern Yemen, and the offensive means very little aid is getting out. If the city falls entirely, the aid is likely to stop.

This is why the UN has been pushing for a deal to stop the fighting over Hodeidah. The UN offered to take control of the city just to keep aid flowing, though the pro-Saudi side has rejected the proposal, saying they want the Houthis to unconditionally surrender.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The collective punishment of a people by denying them food, is a war crime; but apparently, the B.O.Y. (the Butcher of Yemen, aka Saudi Crown Prince Bin Salman) believes that the wealthy are to be held above reproach, when they have the power to engineer the kind of genocide and brutality against the Yemeni people we have witnessed here over the past 3 years.

U.S. Department of Education reopens case against Rutgers alleging anti-Semitism

The U.S. Department of Education has reopened a seven-year old complaint against Rutgers University alleging Jewish students were subject to a hostile environment – a move that comes as the department’s assistant secretary for civil rights adopts a broader definition of anti-Semitism that includes criticisms of Israel.

Kenneth Marcus, the assistant secretary, said a pro-Palestinian event in January 2011 may have discriminated against Jewish students by charging them admission while allowing others in for free – allegations event organizers disputed.

A Rutgers spokesman said in a statement that the university was not notified about the investigation but will cooperate fully with the Department of Education.

“There is no place for anti-Semitism or any form of religious intolerance at Rutgers,” officials said in a statement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please, Lord.... NO!! Antisemitism CANNOT be conflated with logical, factual criticisms of the Israeli government, particularly as they apply to Palestinians.

IF the ruling is in favor of the Jewish students, it is going to have a chilling, crushing effect on free speech in this country, if the court rules in favor of Israel; but please understand, that is precisely Israel wants to see happen; and the reason for that is so that conversations about innocent Palestinian kids getting put in jail, tortured, to obtain confessions, and then signing legal documents in a language they don't know (Hebrew) will come to an end.

Iran WARNING: US tells airlines not to fly through airspace as WW3 fears rise

The advisory also warns military activities linked to the bloody conflict in Syria have been ramped across Iran's airspace.

Tensions between Tehran and Washington are running high following Donald Trump’s controversial decision to pull out of the landmark Iran nuclear deal re-introduce economic sanctions last month.

Flight Service Bureau, which provides safety information on airspace to airlines, said "without seeming alarmist", the deteriorating relationship between the US and Iran must be taken into account when planning flights in Iran's airspace.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Turkey's Latest Power Grab: A Naval Base In Cyprus?

The possibility of a Turkish naval base on Cyprus does not bode well for the chances of a Cyprus reunification deal, particularly after the breakdown of the July 2017 peace talks, which were suspended when "Turkey had refused to relinquish its intervention rights on Cyprus or the presence of troops on the island."

White House Threatens Military Response Against Iran-Backed Militias in Iraq

Iraq may once again, for the first time in nearly a decade, become a theater of US-Iran confrontation according to a White House statement published Tuesday evening.

“The United States will hold the regime in Tehran accountable for any attack that results in injury to our personnel or damage to United States government facilities,” press secretary Sarah Sanders said in a written statement posted to WhiteHouse.gov. “America will respond swiftly and decisively in defense of American lives.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ms. Sanders, forgive me please, but one quick question; has Muktada Al Sadr, a Shiite Muslim cleric now in leadership in the Iraqi Parliament, gotten the message?!?

Ms. Sanders, do you remember this guy?!? He was the one stating that if the US overstayed the SOFA agreement with Iraq by one second, that all American troops would be "fair game" for his Madhi Army to attack. He is still in touch with the military leaders of that paramilitary outfit, and could "bring the band back together" very quickly.

There are also conversations about the Iraqi government completely dropping the dollar in its trade with Iran; would that have anything to do with these threats, and re-destabilizing Iraq, in order to place a US-centric politician at the helm here, and get Al Sadr out ?!?

IF you are honest, the short answer would be, "HELL, yes!!"

Meet Turkey’s New Sovereign Wealth Fund Chairman, Who Has "Now Taken Public Companies Prisoners"

What does a man who already controls pretty much everything in his country — from politics to the judiciary to defense — give to himself? How about direct takeover of his country's sovereign wealth fund?

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has appointed himself chairman of Turkey’s sovereign wealth fund after recent promises to exert greater influence over the economy. He's nixed the old guard management and hand-picked their replacements, in a move his political rival, presidential candidate who lost the June election, Muharrem Ince, has aptly described as taking "public companies prisoners".

And not to be one to break medieval sultanate tradition, he's further named his son-in-law and Finance Minister Berat Albayrak as deputy chairman.

"Leaking Like Mad": FBI-DOJ-MSM Collusion Went Far Deeper Than Previously Known

The FBI's coordination with the mainstream media surrounding the 2016 US election - a "media leak strategy" which was first first revealed Tuesday, goes far deeper than first reported, according to Fox News, which obtained "new communications between the former lovers."

A December 15, 2016 email appears to discuss a "political" leaking operation, in which others were "leaking like mad" amid the Trump-Russia probe.

“Oh, remind me to tell you tomorrow about the times doing a story about the rnc hacks,” Page texted Strzok.

“And more than they already did? I told you Quinn told me they pulling out all the stops on some story…” Strzok replied.

Missing Wikileaks Associates' Belongings Discovered In Waters Near Norway

More than three weeks after Wikileaks associate Arjen Kamphuis disappeared without a trace, a local fisherman has discovered his belongings in a sea in northern Norway, prompting local police to search the water and land around where the items were found, the Daily Mail reports.

Arjen Kamphuis, 47, had been missing since leaving his hotel in the northern Norwegian town of Bodo on Aug. 20. He was staying there while on holiday, but the time had come for him to travel back to his home country, the Netherlands. He had been expected to fly home to Amsterdam on Aug. 22, but Kamphuis didn't show up for his flight, which was set to depart from the Norwegian town of Trondheim, located more than 700 kilometers south of Bodo.

Another Coalition Strike On Yemen Civilian Bus Occurs The Same Day US Affirms It Stands By Saudis

Just as the U.S. in typical fashion continues lecturing countries like Syria, Russia, and Iran over severe human rights violations, including allegations of everything from launching barrel bomb strikes on civilian areas in Idlib to chemical weapons attacks to sensational spy poisoning ops in the U.K., the Saudi-US coalition in Yemen has attacked another bus full of children and civilians in Yemen.

On Wednesday multiple Yemeni journalists reporting from on the ground confirmed a new airstrike resulting in mass civilian casualties, this time a Saudi-US coalition strike scored a direct hit on a bus station in besieged Hodeidah City.

The strike occurred the same day Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Secretary of Defense James Mattis announced they've certified the legality of US assistance to the coalition in Yemen before Congress.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mattis and Pompeo has just certified that the US is completely to be held harmless and indemnified for assisting the Saudis slaughter innocent civilians in Yemen.

I would like to politely suggest to both men, that yes, the arms sales, encouraged by our very own Merchant of Death in-Chief, President Trump, have been through the roof, and the makers of those weapons have a very great bottom line right now.

But at what moral cost to this country, in aiding and abetting Saudi war crimes in Yemen?!?

As a Christian pacifist activist, I will continue to witness to this Saudi genocide in Yemen, and call it for what it is; primarily war crimes against civilians, pure and simple.

And gentlemen, characterizing these US military actions in Yemen as "legal" does not make them a morally correct choice for this government. And it may well backfire against the US government, and in a splendidly spectacular manner.

Hillary Slips Up, Tweets Furious Screed Based On Debunked Kavanaugh Smear

Hillary Clinton went on 6-tweet tirade Wednesday against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, citing a debunked fake news story that Kavanaugh referred to birth-control pills as "abortion-inducing drugs."

I want to be sure we're all clear about something that Brett Kavanaugh said in his confirmation hearings last week. He referred to birth-control pills as "abortion-inducing drugs." That set off a lot of alarm bells for me, and it should for you, too.

The rest of the screed, which you can read by clicking on her tweet, condemns Kavanaugh for making it "clear that safe and legal abortion isn't the only fundamental reproductive right at grave risk if he is confirmed. Access to birth control is, too."

Except, Kavanaugh never said that...

US Destroyer Enters Mediterranean As Syria Tensions Build; Carrier On Standby

An American battleship, the USS Bulkeley destroyer, has reportedly entered the Mediterranean and is headed for Syria, equipped with over 50 Tomahawk missiles. This deployment comes after previous reports of the attack submarine USS Newport News (SSN-750) arriving in the Mediterranean, and after the arrival Tuesday of A U.S. Marine Corps small attack carrier full of F-35B stealth jets, the USS Essex, in the Middle East region as detailed by the military website, Task and Purpose.

The Russian news agency Interfax now reports that American forces in the region possess up to 200 Tomahawk cruise missiles available to strike targets in Syria if ordered to do so.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Folks, it is really looking to me that a US attack is definitely on regarding Syria; perhaps not today, but in the very near-term.

This is an awful lot of hardware to preposition without being quite ready to use it, and my sense, as ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid of President Trump to order a strike in Syria, which most probably means hot combat against Russian troops as well, that this will happen soon, and my guess is, it will be ordered later this month, to give him traction through the Mid-term elections.

US To Impose "Very Severe" Sanctions On Russia Over Skripal Case

In the latest salvo meant to convince Mueller that Trump is not a pawn of the Kremlin, a State Dept official said on Thursday that the US plans a second round of "very severe" sanctions on Russia over use of nerve agent. The stated reason: Russia has not allowed on-site chemical weapons inspections, nor has it provided reassurance that it won’t use nerve agents against its own people, says Manisha Singh, Asst. Sec. for bureau of economic and business affairs

"We are looking at this November deadline” under the Chemical and Biological Weapons Control and Warfare Elimination Act of 1991, Singh said, adding that "we plan to impose a very severe second round of sanctions."

The sanctions will kick in some time in November, presumably just after the November midterms, if Moscow does not take steps in the wake of the poisoning of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal in the United Kingdom, Assistant Secretary of State Manisha Singh said on Thursday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There seem to be a stacking on of events against counties we don't like, first part of November, like this sanctioning of Russia, and the "drop dead date date" edict President Trump has given the world against buying Iranian oil.

I think the severity and impact of Hurricane Florence has put much action in the Middle East (like a further attack against Syria) on hold, albeit temporarily.

Axel Voss’s JURI Report on Article 13 Would Violate Internet Users’ Fundamental Rights

Last week, the Legal Affairs (JURI) Committee of the European Parliament voted in favour of Rapporteur MEP Axel Voss’s proposal on Article 13 of the draft Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market. The saga surrounding this infamous text is however far from over. A group of MEPs are currently challenging the JURI version of the proposal through the so-called rule 69c procedure. This means that on the 5 July at 12:00, the plenary of the Parliament will vote on whether the JURI report provides an acceptable basis to start “trilogue” negotiations with the Council. This will be a yes/no vote. If the EP decides to vote against the JURI mandate, every MEP will be able to file an amendment to the JURI report in the next plenary session in September. This would allow for Article 13 (as well as the equally contested Article 11) to be reworded.

Defeat the Deep State – or lose your freedom

The crisis is upon us, and yet hardly anyone outside of a few old-fashioned liberals sees it. Their view is obscured by the Brobdingnagian figure of Donald J. Trump towering over us all as left and right battle it out in his shadow. Yet the real battle, and the actual combatants, are obscured by this spectacle.

The Deep State – i.e. the constellation of national security agencies and private actors who have directed and maintained our globalist foreign policy since the end of World War II – would have targeted Trump in any case, due to his hostility to their interventionist foreign policy. And yet I believe they would’ve gone after him anyway due to his populist outsider persona, which the self-appointed guardians of the Empire consider dangerous per se.

‘Catastrophic’: EU Passes Copyright Directive Including Internet ‘Link Tax’ and ‘Upload Filter’

The European Parliment has passed a controversial copyright directive that contains provisions which force tech giants to install content filters and sets in place a potential tax on hyperlinking.

The bill was passed in a final vote of 438 – 226 and will need to be implemented by individual EU member states.

Critics of the directive have been laser-focused on two key provisions: Articles 11 and 13, which they have dubbed the “link tax” and “upload filter.”

Google Responds To Leaked Video As Damning History Of Bias Haunts Company; Parscale Calls For Investigation

In a late Wednesday statement, Google spokeswoman Riva Sciuto said "For 20 years, everyone at Google has been able to freely express their opinions at these meetings" (just not over email - like conservative former employee James Damore, who is currently suing Google for discrimination after he was fired for criticizing the company's diversity policies).

"Nothing was said at that meeting, or any other meeting, to suggest that any political bias ever influences the way we build or operate our products," Google's statement continues. "To the contrary, our products are built for everyone, and we design them with extraordinary care to be a trustworthy source of information for everyone, without regard to political viewpoint."

Except several examples suggest otherwise...

Twitter blocks posts that use phrase ‘illegal alien’ as ‘hateful content’

It’s amazing just how far the liberals at Twitter will seemingly go to promote open borders and the influx of illegal immigrants into America and how far they will go to establish the absurd boundaries of so-called ‘hate speech.’

YouTube Bans Media Supporting Syria's Liberating Struggle

Ahead of what may be the mother of all battles to liberate US-supported terrorists in Syria’s Idlib province, YouTube banned Damascus state-run and other pro-government channels – including the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), channels belonging to the country’s presidency and Defense Ministry, each closure accompanied by one of these shameful statements saying:

“This account has been terminated due to a legal complaint,” or

“This account has been terminated for a violation of YouTube’s Terms of Service.”

A message on SANA’s takedown said:

“This page isn’t available. Sorry about that. Try searching for something else.”

YouTube offers cryptic explanation on shutdown of Syrian gov’t channels

The video-sharing giant took down four Syrian state-run YouTube channels, including two channels belonging to state media and the official account of the Syrian president, amid escalating tensions in the militant-held province of Idlib and warnings by the Russian military that the White Helmets may stage a new false flag chemical attack.

Asked to comment on the shutdown, which users reported over the weekend, a YouTube spokesperson provided Sputnik with the following statement: “YouTube complies with all applicable sanctions and trade compliance laws – including with respect to content created and uploaded by restricted entities. If we find that an account violates our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, we disable it.”

‘Petty revenge’: Hungary blasts MEPs for supporting punitive measures against Budapest

Hungary’s foreign minister has fired back at the EU parliament decision to trigger Article 7, which can lead to sanctions against Budapest over its immigration policies, branding it the “petty revenge” of pro-migrant politicians.

“Today’s European Parliament decision was nothing but a petty revenge of pro-immigration politicians against Hungary,” Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said during a news conference in Budapest on Wednesday.

“The decision was made in a fraudulent way, and contrary to relevant rules in European treaties.”

The 9/11 Reichstag Fire

"Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear." - President Harry S. Truman.

Marshall Islands warned against adopting digital currency

The Republic of the Marshall Islands has been warned against adopting a digital currency as a second form of legal tender.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said the country, which consists of hundreds of islands in the Pacific Ocean, should "seriously reconsider".

Currently, only the US dollar counts as legal tender in the islands.

A law to adopt a digital currency named "Sovereign" alongside the dollar was passed in February.

WATCH: Since 9/11, America Has Traded Liberty for Security, And We’re Almost Out of Both

The bombing of Iraq was only the beginning of a larger conflict that the Bush Administration dubbed “The Global War on Terror.” The War on Terror did not end in the physical battlefield, however. The U.S. government was determined to root out all possible terrorist activity and in the process roll back as many of America’s hard-earned liberties as possible. Many of the bills passed in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks have contributed to the rise of a Surveillance State.

Video: Washington Claims That Assad Government Wants to Bomb Schools, Hospitals and Homes in Idlib under the Guise of Counter-Terrorism

The US-led propaganda campaign against the Syrian-Iranian-Russian alliance has reached a new level as the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is openly preparing to kick of a ground assault on terrorist groups in northwestern Syria.

During a September 7 UN Security Council briefing, US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley stated that

“when Russia and the Assad regime say they want to counter terrorism, they actually mean they want to bomb schools, hospitals, and homes. They want to punish the civilians who had the courage to rise up against Assad.” She further stated that “the Assad regime” must halt an offensive in Idlib because it will undermine “peace talks”.

“We consider any assault on Idlib to be a dangerous escalation of the conflict in Syria. If Assad, Russia, and Iran continue, the consequences will be dire,” Haley said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, Ambassador Haley; but is this not precisely what the US military is assisting the Saudis in doing in Yemen, in their war crimes against innocent Yemenis?!?

Images: Yemeni kids assassinated, with US assistance, by the Saudi Military

I do not blame the Syrian government for wanting to retake Idlib; these nonsensical statements of yours, are simply the premise for the US government's "justification" for fighting both Russian and Iranian military, which have been instrumental in beating the rebels back.

I would like to politely suggest that war against Russia and Iran in Syria may not be the highest or best use of American military resources in this case.

And here's a companion piece by Phil Giraldi, from globalresearch.ca:

Target Syria: Will a New War be the Next "October Surprise?!?

I frankly don't think the current administration can wait for October before going into Syria, with fighters and weapons blazing, because of a concern about a potential rout of Republicans in the coming midterms.

‘Why do the sick people have to pay the price of political conflict?’: East Jerusalem hospitals respond to US funding cuts

The Palestinian Authority has allegedly pledged to remedy the budget deficit caused by the Trump administration’s announcement on Saturday that it would be cutting $25 million in aid to Palestinian hospitals in occupied East Jerusalem.

In a press conference on Monday, the Secretary General of the East Jerusalem Hospital Network Walid Namur told journalists that he received a call on Monday from the Palestinian Minister of Health saying that President Mahmoud Abbas had ordered $25 million from the PA’s general budget to go towards the hospital network.

“At the end of every tunnel, there is light. We saw that light today,” Namur told the crowd as he spoke of Monday’s phone call.

“This is very good news for us because it means we can continue serving our patients, and we can continue essential services that are otherwise unavailable in Gaza or the West Bank,” he said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would very politely suggest to President Trump, that these humanitarian cuts in aid to Palestinian health care outlets, is not going to lessen the Palestinians' desire for the right of return in the least.

What he is doing with these cuts, is hurting ill people, who desperately need what little care these hospitals can provide.

Washington Quietly Increases Lethal Weapons to Ukraine

For all of the loose (frequently hysterical) talk in Congress, the foreign policy community, and the news media about President Donald Trump’s alleged eagerness to appease Vladimir Putin, U.S. policy remains as confrontational as ever toward Russia.

Among other actions, the Trump administration has involved U.S. forces in NATO military exercises (war games) in Poland and other East European countries on Russia’s border, as well as in naval maneuvers in the Black Sea near Russia’s sensitive naval base at Sevastopol. Washington has even sent U.S. troops as participants in joint military exercises with Ukrainian forces—an act that Moscow considers especially provocative, given its tense relations with Kiev.

On no issue is the administration’s risky course more evident than its military policy toward Ukraine. Recent measures are certain to provoke Moscow further, and entangle the United States to an unwise extent with an extremely murky, ideologically troubling Ukrainian regime.

Webmaster's Commentary:

To President Trump and his Cabinet; a war against Russia, into which the US Government and military, are nearly inextricably going to be drawn, is a very, very bad idea right now, and I say this because the US military doesn't have the money; the weapons; the troop strength; or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war against Russia.

It would go nuclear, very very quickly, and the results of such a war could result in both horrific... and irreversible destruction of life as we know it on Planet Earth, with very few exceptions.

Is Trump Going Neocon in Syria?

Is Trump ready to order U.S. action against Russian and Syrian forces if Assad gives his army the green light to take Idlib? For the bombing of Idlib has already begun.

What makes this more than an academic exercise is that Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, at a meeting in Tehran last Friday, told President Erdogan of Turkey that the reconquest of Idlib is going forward.

Erdogan fears that the Syrian army’s recapture of Idlib would send hundreds of thousands more refugees streaming to his border.

Turkey already hosts millions of refugees from Syria’s civil war.

Yet the massing of the Syrian army near Idlib and the Russian and Syrian bombing now begun suggest that the Assad-Putin-Rouhani coalition has decided to accept the risk of a clash with the Americans in order to bring an end to the rebellion. If so, this puts the ball in America’s court.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The short answer to the rhetorical question posed as the title of this article is, unfortunately, "HELL, yes!!"

US Reportedly Reinforces Base in E Syria Amid Looming Idlib Offensive

On September 10, the Fars News Agency reported that the US sent two convoys consisting of ten trucks loaded with logistics and military equipment to the country's al-Susah base in the eastern part of Deir ez-Zor province, controlled by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The media platform said, citing local sources that Washington had also sent another convoy consisting of 100 trucks loaded with military equipment from Iraq to unspecified Syrian territories controlled by the SDF, via the Simalka border crossing.

Task & Purpose previously reported that the US had sent over 100 US Marines to reinforce the military base in al-Tanf, Syria. Newly deployed forces will take part in live ammunition military drills, which are being conducted to demonstrate the "capability to deploy rapidly, assault a target and conduct rapid exfiltration," according to US Central Command (CENTCOM).

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looks as though the US war against both Russia and Syria is on; the only question is, how long past the false-flag chemical attack, which will probably be all over the presstitute corporate media in the next couple of days, will President Trump wait to give the command to attack.

Unfortunately, for this country, doing the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing it could do, is no guarantee that the US government won't do it; a US attack against Idlib, which most probably means a military confrontation with Russia, being my case in point here.

Federal Grand Jury Petition Filed for New 9/11 Investigation – Evidence Rules out Gravity-Only Collapse

Good news has finally come along for the many people who know office fires cannot bring down modern steel framed skyscrapers, and it’s good news for the rest of the world as well. On April 10th of this year, the non-profit Lawyers Committee for 9-11 Inquiry filed a petition with the U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York, Manhattan, formally requesting that he present to a grand jury, as a U.S. Attorney, extensive evidence of federal crimes relating to the destruction of three World Trade Center high-rises on 9/11/2001. The petition cites broad and conclusive evidence, providing proof of explosives and incendiaries employed at ground zero to bring down the twin towers and WTC Building 7

GOOGLE WAS "WORKING TO GET HILLARY CLINTON ELECTED" WITH "SILENT DONATION" ACCORDING TO LEAKED INTERNAL EMAIL

Tucker Carlson just blew the cover off the 2016 election influence charade, after he read an internal email on Monday night's show from a senior Google employee who admitted to using company resources to make a "silent donation" to a liberal group that was creating ads and donating funds to bus Latinos to voting stations during the 2016 election in key swing states, in an effort to help Hillary Clinton win.

The email was sent by the former head of Google's multicultural marketing department, Eliana Mario, on November 9, 2016.

Webmaster's Commentary:
