Italy Is Latest Country Seeking To Bring Their People’s Gold Home

European Central Bank’s President Mario Draghi recently announced that the ECB would be required to approve any management of gold reserves within the euro zone countries.

The statement was specifically directed at two Italian members. Why was Italy singled out?

According to the Wall Street Journal, Italian citizens are preparing to take control of Italy’s gold reserves. During the past few years, a multitude of small investors lost billions of dollars due to the failure of several Italian banks. The Bank of Italy is seen as an elitist, inefficient entity indifferent to the needs of ordinary people. Deputy Prime Minister Luigi Di Maio is leading the attack against Italy’s central bank, along with the “5 Star Movement” and the nationalist “League,” all of whom blame the countries financial woes on the incompetence of the central bank.

Washington Warns Beijing: 'Paramilitary' Fishing Boats Will Now Be Treated Like Combatants

As the US continues its increasingly daring and extremely provocative "freedom of navigation" operations in the Strait of Taiwan and South China Sea, it's also growing more vocal about challenging China's increasingly expansionary military presence in the Pacific. Over the weekend, the US has warned Beijing that the US military would aggressively respond to provocative acts by China's coast guard and fishing boats in the same way it reacts to the Chinese navy.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, why in the name of heaven, why are you being more brutally verbally aggressive than ever to Chinese leadership, when trade negotiations between China and the US are already on rocky ground?!?

IF there is a logical reason for this, I would certainly like to hear what the rationale is for this statement; otherwise, it appears like sheer madness, from a perspective of logic, reason, and the importance of "face", in Asian cultures.

Joint Russia-China Naval Drills Kick Off After 2 US Warships Enter Taiwan Strait

Early this week Chinese media confirmed that Russian warships arrived in Qingdao, a port city in East China's Shandong Province, at the start this week's join China-Russia naval exercises.

The Russian fleet included the Varyag guided missile cruiser, a submarine, two anti-submarine ships, a corvette, a landing ship, a tanker and a rescue vessel, according to China's Global Times.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please, LORD, let nothing go wrong in any of these exercises, or from the two US carriers now passing off the coast of Taiwan.

As someone celebrating her 70th birthday next week, I have rarely seen a time in American history, where things just seem to be drifting towards a war, and possibly a global war at that.

It's kind of like that archetypal dream, about two trains, running head long , right at each other on the same track, and not being able to stop them.

What do I want of my government?!? That it actually does start indulging in moral, thoughtful, hard-won negotiations with China and Russia; you know, those kinds of actions which deepen confidence and trust?!?

I am absolutely sure that if I spoke Russian, or Cantonese, and could speak to mothers of kids who just got drafted into either country's military (or perhaps enlisted), they would be both very proud of their kids' participation in those armies, but would agree with me, that peace; the rule of law; commerce; and intelligent, thoughtful planning, need to reign in human society.

Otherwise, humankind may just blow itself to kingdom come, and leave a fractured, horrific planet in its wake, incapable of regrowth or rebirth.

Unfortunately, those in the Bowels of Power in DC, do not seem to understand this right now. And the only modalities they seem to believe will work, in a desperate attempt to stabilize the US economy, are to continue to expropriate resources to which they have no moral right, and insure that they are sold only in US dollars.

Their tools right now are are demonisation; destabilization; and wars to insure the "end game" winds up entirely positively for the US government.

But the problem with this attitude, which comes to us from the great Greek storytellers, is hubris; an over-arching pride which makes one believe that you can do anything you want, without any moral, or physical, repercussions happening at all.

Unfortunately, the real world does not ultimately work in this manner; there is a cost, or costs to specific actions and choice, which can be horrendous.

The casualty counts in current US declared, and undeclared wars, is staggering, both for the indigenous people who live there, and our troops.

And the broken lives, and bodies, again, of both the people we are bombing, and our troops, who wind up maimed for life, from these wars, suggest a better, more peace-centric process is desperately needed by the US government, and to work to stay away from wars as its "only solution" to geopolitical and economic challenges.

Swedish Anti-Extremism Tsar Allows Returning ISIS Fighters Re-Entry As "Caring Citizens"

Authored by Jon Hall via FMShooter.com

According to officials in Stockholm, Swedish residents have nothing to fear from Islamic State fighters returning from the Middle East to live peaceful, crime-free lives in Sweden.

Christina Kiernan, Stockholm’s anti-violent extremism coordinator, claimed that jihadists who returned from Syria and Iraq were living “orderly lives” following public outcry regarding the government’s decision not to strip people who fought in radical Islamic terror organizations of their Swedish passports.

Kiernan said on a television interview this week:

The IS returnees we have talked to so far have no known current crime, they have a job and an orderly life to the extent that we do not have knowledge of activities that can in any way scare anyone…

The television interviewer fired back:

So they are returning from this type of business and becoming caring, well-behaved citizens?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Kiernan has just become a major accessory to the coming cultural suicide in Sweden, as we have seen in so so many other countries, where Sharia law rapidly, and rabidly, replaces the existing Laws of the Land.

US Troops In Syria For "Long Haul" Atop "A Lot Of Oil Resources": Pentagon Official

A high level Pentagon official has admitted that US forces will be in Syria for "the long haul" and coupled his statement by declaring the territory contains “a lot of the oil resources and arable land.”

The unusually frank remarks were made this week by Michael Mulroy, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for the Middle East, while addressing a conference at the D.C. based Center for a New American Security (CNAS), months after President Trump appeared to have caved to his advisers, reversing course earlier this year from his stated goal of a full and rapid US troop exit from Syria.

Mulroy said “we have a very capable partner” — in reference to the primarily Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) — and quickly noted the US-trained SDF happens to occupy key regions in eastern Syria with "a lot of the oil resources and arable land," and added that, "we are there with them".

Webmaster's Commentary:

Wait a minute; the US military is actually occupying over 1/3rd of the sovereign country of Syria?!?

The question that the Pentagon, State Department, and the Executive Office need to ask, is, how long will it be, before Russian forces, carrying out Putin's orders, drive them out?!?

If I were a Federal official, this would be the question that would be keeping me up at night.

'Maybe if you skipped that Dunkin you'd be able to afford your RX meds': Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez rips Chase Bank for their 'thrifty' Monday Motivation tweet that urged people to save money by avoiding coffee runs

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took a hit a Chase Bank on Twitter, reprimanding the company in a sharp tweet for their post urging customers to be more frugal.

On Monday Chase shared a tweet joking about how customers overspend and get low balance alerts from the bank.

'You: why is my balance so low. Bank account: make coffee at home. Bank account: eat the food that's already in the fridge. Bank account: you don't need a cab, it's only three blocks. You: I guess we'll never know. Bank account: seriously? #Monday Motivation'.

AOC then responded saying today's money problems stem from minimal wage increases and rising living costs.

"Workarounds" Galore: How Real Americans Deal With "Real" Inflation

‘Workarounds’ galore: How real Americans deal with ‘real’ inflation By Bill Rice, Jr.
While working on a story on inflation and shrinkflation, I quickly zeroed in on the concept of “workarounds” as an alternative, perhaps superior, way to gauge the true state of our economy. I define workarounds as the changes individuals or families (or businesses) must make in their daily living to adapt to a world of rising prices. If nothing else, these examples, taken in the aggregate, challenge the conventional wisdom that inflation is “low” or “contained,” or that the economy is just fine, thank you.

As decades have passed, the list of workarounds families have utilized to deal with rising prices has rapidly grown.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Have you and your family been dealing with this?!?

I sure know that our "little family of 2" sure has!!

In fact, we discovered a "big box" store not far from here last weekend, and did some substantial savings ourselves.

$1 Billion In Iranian Crude Is Stranded At A Chinese Port

It's no secret that Beijing has chafed at American audacity to try and dictate whom Chinese refineries can and can't buy oil from. And in the latest example of just how aggravating the decision to end waivers for Iranian crude imports has been for the world's second-largest economy, Reuters reported that some 20 million barrels of Iranian crude have been languishing at the northeastern port of Dalian for months, but because of the US's decision to re-impose sanctions on Iran back in November, nobody wants to touch the oil.

China filed a formal complaint with the US over its decision to end the waivers, but the US has refused to consider any exceptions to its plans to reimpose full sanctions.

As one analyst told Reuters, no Chinese company will touch the oil unless specifically instructed to do so by the Chinese government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And one has to wonder; precisely when the Chinese government will give its order to move this oil,and what the ramifications are going to be.

Will the US government interdict the ship, and possibly start World War III with China?!?

Of almost every possible outcome here, this would be one of the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid decisions the Trump administration could make at this point.

Unfortunately, just because something would be the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly idiotic decision this administration could make, is no guarantee that it will not do so.

Ron Paul Warns: "Hapless" Guaido Now "Worth More Dead Than Alive" To Washington's Venezuelan Coup-Creators

Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido failed to kick-start a military uprising on Tuesday. After this fizzle, RT reports that his life may be in danger from his own CIA backers, the director of the Ron Paul Institute argued in a debate.

Daniel McAdams and Ron Paul, the former libertarian representative from Texas, discussed the repeated attempts by Guaido to oust Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro with the backing from the US government. Despite all the efforts, Maduro remains in power, supported by many Venezuelans and in control of its military and police forces.

Paul said he was concerned that the Latin American country may be plunged into large-scale violence by some provocation.

“The big danger is a hard war breaking out. I’d still bet it won’t be too bad, with thousands of troops moving. But it could be a guerrilla war or something like that. If there is a false flag or some important official on either side gets killed, you can’t tell what might happen,” he said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Yes... but desperation on the cusp of madness.

With Russian troops having been on Venezuelan soil for some time, now, what is the plan?!? War with Russia over Venezuela (over control of its vast oil reserves?!?)

Faux is showing, live, the hearings on the Barr report this morning, with nary a word about Venezuela. It's about the bottom of the hour here, so I will be curious if it actually gets any air time at all this morning. OK, I watched this from the bottom half of the hour; and still no word on Venezuela. They are going right back, top of the hour, to The Barr Hearings.

The only comment from Regime Changer in Chief, Elliott Abrams yesterday, was as follows:

U.S. envoy says top Venezuelan officials negotiated to help restore order Elliott Abrams went on to state that:

"U.S. envoy for Venezuela Elliott Abrams said on Tuesday opposition-led protests in Caracas were part of a broader effort negotiated with three senior officials in President Nicolas Maduro’s government to restore constitutional order.

Abrams, speaking to reporters at the State Department, said the talks involved Venezuela’s Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino, Supreme Court chief justice Maikel Moreno and presidential guard commander Ivan Rafael Hernandez Dela about restoring democracy in the country.

“There have been some interesting negotiations among Venezuelans inside the regime and outside the regime about returning to the constitution,” Abrams said. “They negotiated for a long time the means of restoring democracy but it seems that today they are not going forward,” he added."

So I have to wonder, since names were named in this article, whether those three actually did communicate with Abrams... or did not.

And notice how Abrams is shifting gears wildly, by throwing the lack of success of the coup, on these Venezuelans, Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino, Supreme Court chief justice Maikel Moreno and presidential guard commander Ivan Rafael Hernandez Dela rather than upon himself, and the Those in the Bowels of Power in DC who concocted this poison stew of lies?!?

Guaido is now what those with a little bit of intelligence business savvy, understand to be a "live liability" for the CIA/FBI/and whatever other intel ops who convinced President Trump that this could actually work.

And as for Abrams, he has just handed President Trump his very own "Bay of Pigs" debacle here, in attempting to foment "regime change" with a population which would not have it, and have chosen to stay loyal to Maduro.

And as for Abram's future in regime change, I think that, unless he had intense "defense in depth" planning, and was placing those into effect, if this went "mammary glands vertical" a plan B, C, D, E, and F, he is going to be handed his hat by Trump, who is going to look for someone who can actually do what Abrams told him he could do.

Who knows, maybe Erik Prince's timing was perfect for getting back in good graces with the White House when he pitched sending his own mercs into Venezuela, to destabilize it to the point of regime change?!?

And I have to suspect, by his rantings and ravings, both in public and on Twitter, that President Trump had his book "The Art of the Deal" completely ghostwritten, as I see zero signs of true negotiations, in either his personality, or his decision making, which, at the moment, can be described as both utter chaos, and no closer to achieving a stable, peaceful world than when he came into office.

To say this is a profound disappointment for many of us, who at the beginning of his campaign, really believed that he just might be able to pull this off, is akin to saying "the SS Titanic took on a little ice,and ultimately became the "US Trumptanic"

And the real question Americans need to ask, is why, at the end of the day, are our Presidential candidates so lousy?!? The answer is, because by the time they are "thrown at the Public", in many large, theatrical Kabuki-style events, they have had to be vetted by the Deep State; the Military Industrial Complex; and the corporations who contribute to both parties luxuriously to make sure that nothing changes in the ways they do business.

And here's companion piece, courtesy of Zero Hedge, and we ALL could see this coming: Maduro declares victory over attempted coup,, followed by the following: "Update (7:16 am ET): Here we go again...

Now that the monthslong simmering rebellion against Maduro has exploded into a full-fledged uprising - one that's in danger of being brutally suppressed by the Maduro regime - it's time for the US to revive its threats of military intervention with the added subtext of 'this time, we mean it'.

After footage from yesterday's riots showed regime tanks brutally crushing opposition supporters, Mike Pompeo appeared on Fox Business this morning and said that the US hasn't ruled out military intervention.

U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE POMPEO SAYS MILITARY ACTION IN VENEZUELA IS POSSIBLE 'IF THAT'S WHAT'S REQUIRED', WOULD PREFER PEACEFUL TRANSITION -FOX BUSINESS INTERVIEW
His comments come as supporters of the regime and opposition prepare to take to the streets for another wave of massive demonstrations on Wednesday."

IF Pompeo doesn't understand that this "regime change" movement lost its window yesterday, he doesn't deserve to be Secretary of State, period, end of discussion.

COMING TO AMERICA: THE COMPLETE DE-PLATFORMING OF ALL VOICES THAT DON’T WORSHIP DEMOCRATS

This article was originally published by JD Heyes at Natural News.

The Democrat Party has joined the globalist Left in their quest to wipe out all remaining bastions of freedom and liberty throughout the West which, if they are successful, will plunge the world into chaos, war, and destruction.

In Europe, freedom fighters like Tommy Robinson and Carl Benjamin are fighting Leftists in Britain and throughout the European Union as they attempt to build political opposition to what is very obviously an anti-libertarian and anti-democratic campaign of suppression and censorship.

Robinson, demonized by the European Left as a “far-right extremist” who has been attempting to speak the truth about the virtual invasion of anti-Western Muslim “refugees” from war-torn segments of the Middle East, was jailed in 2018 for essentially expressing his views.

Bolton: All Options Are on the Table Regarding Venezuela

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza said earlier in the day that the United States had signed off on an attempted coup in Venezuela by calling on the country's armed forces to support the opposition parliament.

During a speech at the White House, US National Security Adviser John Bolton said that all options were on the table regarding the current situation in Venezuela.

"We want as our principal objective a peaceful transfer of power," Bolton said. "But I will say again: [Venezuela's President] Nicolas Maduro and those supporting him, particularly those who are not Venezuelans, should know that all options are on the table."

Webmaster's Commentary:

NO, Security Advisor Bolton, you do not care about a "a peaceful transfer of power;" what you care about is getting those oil reserves in Venezuela under American control, and selling them only for the American dollar.

LIVE UPDATES: Situation in Venezuela as Guaido Calls on Troops to Oust Maduro

Venezuelan opposition leader and self-proclaimed Interim president of the country, Juan Guaido, published a video in which he urged soldiers to join protests against President Nicolas Maduro in order to oust him.

The footage shows Guaido, surrounded by people in military uniform, claiming that he has already received the support of the Venezuelan Army, going on to call for the "final phase" of the protests. A New Mega Cartel Is Emerging In Oil Markets

china and India—two of the world’s largest oil importers and the biggest demand growth centers globally—are close to setting up an oil buyers’ club to have a say in the pricing and sourcing of crude oil amid OPEC’s cuts and U.S. sanctions on Iran and Venezuela, Indian outlet livemint reports, citing three officials with knowledge of the talks.

This is not the first time that the two major oil importers are working to create such an oil club.

India and China have discussed creating an ‘oil buyers’ club’ to be able to negotiate better prices with oil exporting countries and will be looking to import more U.S. crude oil in order to reduce OPEC’s sway, both over the global oil market and over prices, India’s Petroleum Ministry said in June 2018.

5 Reasons To Be Concerned That The Federal Government Will Borrow $990 Billion This Year

Authored by Mac Slavo via SHTFplan.com

No one seems to care that a government already over $22 trillion in debt is on schedule to borrow another $990 million this year. All of this is occurring as individual Americans further enslave themselves with higher debt loads and retail stores fail over the inability to pay back the money they borrowed. But there are many reasons to be concerned about government spending.

The debt-based system we live under won’t sustain itself forever. Don’t get us wrong, the sociopaths in government and at the Federal Reserve (central bankers) will prop it up for as long as possible, but it is doomed to fail. That $22 trillion doesn’t include unfunded liabilities either, making the situation even uglier.

Venezuela Coup? "Live Fire" Exchanged Outside Contested Air Base, Armored Car Plows Into Protesters

update 5: As predicted, what Guaido dubbed “Operation Liberty” — a full on coup attempt for which he appealed for Venezuela's military to rise up against Maduro — appears to have failed to achieve significant momentum, given Caracas officials are taking to the air waves to declare the "mediocre" coup attempt successfully put down.

“A mediocre coup d'etat attempt has failed,” said defense minister Vladimir Padrino on a state radio broadcast Tuesday afternoon, following prior statements saying he was ready put down the rebellion by force. And in a television appearance Padrino further called the day's events "ridiculous".

Meanwhile national security advisor John Bolton has stated this is "not a coup" given that the US already sees opposition leader Juan Guaido as the country's president. Bolton said of the rapidly unfolding and increasingly violent events that "it is not a coup for Juan Guaido to try and take command of the Venezuelan military."

Donald J. Trump
?

Webmaster's Commentary:

No, Mr. President: this country does NOT stand for the Freedom of the Venezuelan people; it stands for controlling their massive oil reserves, and insuring that Venezuela's oil will only be sold for US dollars.

I have heard the soundbite "Everything is on the table", floated as a description of further potential ways for the US to get Maduro out of power, whatever they may be.

War against Venezuela for its oil?!?

Right now, I would not bet against it.

But were I in the Pentagon "war room", I would have to ask; "If we invade, what will Russia, which already has troops in position, decide to do?"

This could get ugly, quickly, and in ways for which the US government perhaps has not either thought through, or didn't consider: and that, folks, is what concerns me most.

Trump’s Crusaders March to War

But behind the horror in Sri Lanka, a huge crisis was building up of which the world has so far taken insufficient notice: renewed tensions in the oil-producing Gulf. This is the latest attempt by the United States to crush Iran’s independent-minded government and return it to American tutelage.

The Trump administration has demanded that the principal importers of 1.2 billion barrels of Iranian oil halt purchases almost immediately. This imperial diktat includes China, South Korea, Turkey, India and Japan. The comprehensive embargo is very close to an all-out act of war. In 1941, America’s cut-off of oil to Japan provoked the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr President, a word, please: this was a completely lousy choice, potentially leading to more war in the Middle East and beyond.

And sir, this underscores a couple of points I have been making for a long time.

The first, those in the Bowels of Power in DC, seem to have lost all critical thinking capabilities, in terms of following various scenarios to their most logical end.

And second, and forgive me sir, but it must be blurted out here; just because something is the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid move that the US government and military could do, is no guarantee that the US government and military will not do it.

This set of imperial decrees by you and your "enforcers in Chief, Pompeo and Bolton, have set this country up for an incredible, horrific war, which will have horrendous consequences domestically and for the world as well.

And to be painfully candid, sir, although the US did "win" world wars 1 and 2 with the help of their allies, which got us out of a couple of economic holes, this country wasn't running a $22 trillion dollar deficit at the time.

The old financial problems, with wars as their solutions, will not work in 2019. and in the evolving multi-polar world.

The War on Syria Continues. Iran Is Next?

The war on Syria is not over. Western -supported terrorists still occupy Idlib, as well as al Tanif, and strategic resource-rich areas East of the Euphrates. The Al- Rukban concentration camp[1] still holds about 40,000 desperate and dying captives, and the Al-Hawl camp[2] holds 73,000 captives.

The West’s terrorists are expendable, but the West supports them all, including al Qaeda, ISIS, and the YPG/SDF terrorists.

Under the familiar pretense of “going after ISIS”, the Western coalition carpet bombed Raqqa, shipped ISIS out, and re-occupied the ruins with SDF proxies – occupiers posing as liberators.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am hoping and praying that the US, and Israeli governments , will not be so stupid as to believe, for one second, that they can conquer Iran, either militarily, or with some form of regime change.

If Russia thinks, for one second, that Iran is headed toward a crisis, my bet would be under threat from harm, they may immediately start propping up Iran with their own military and weaponry.

As we have seen from incredible performances by Russian military and their weaponry in Syria, the Russians have both the person-power,and weapons, to keep the Israelis and US forces at bay.

Where the Silk Roads Meet the Mighty Mekong

Spiritual beginnings

It’s tempting to regard the bridge as a post-modern naga. In the inestimable The Enduring Sacred Landscape of the Naga, published by Mekong Press, Lao scholars Mayoury and Pheuiphanh Ngaosrivathana track the literally fantastic world of animated beings in the Mekong basin – totemized reptiles such as the serpent, or ngu, the salt-water crocodile (ngeuak) and supernatural beings such as the naga.

The new naga will take the form of Made in China high-speed trains – for passengers of course, but mostly for cargo – crossing the Mekong back and forth and crucially bypassing the Maritime Silk Road along the South China Sea.

The numbers by the Lao Ministry of Public Works and Transport are impressive – the Kunming-Vientiane high-speed railway, started in 2016 and to be completed in 2021, features 72 tunnels, 170 bridges and will have trains speeding along at 160 km an hour.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem with the US's present administration; instead of making deals and building things up, the US is blowing things up, to regime change nations whose resources the US government wants to expropriate, and make sure that those resources will only be sold in American Currency.

There is a great deal about the Chinese government I really despise, but this ambitious, and almost visionary, long-term building project, really deserves respect.

Pompeo: Helping Saudis Attack Yemen Is In America’s Best Interests

With the Senate planning this week to “process” President Trump’s veto of the War Powers Act challenge to the Yemen War, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo took the reins to try to defend US involvement in Yemen as in America’s best interest.

Pompeo’s argument centered on the idea that the US was obliged to help Saudi Arabia defend itself from retaliatory fights, now that the Saudis had launched a war and provoked that retaliation.

On top of that poor argument for an obligation, Pompeo relied on what the administration seems to believe is the most compelling argument, even if it is wholly based on a lie. He argued that the whole war was Iran’s fault, and not intervening would make Iran happy.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Instead of Secretary of State, Pompeo is actually the US Government's Secretary For Fact-Free Churlish Propaganda or (SFFFCP, for short).

And this guy blames Iran for this senseless, horrific war, where everything the Saudis are doing are war crimes, which the US military and Executive Branches of the US have enabled?!? And no serious commenters on the situation have ever stated that a military victory was possible for the Saudis?!?

And this man was whore enough for the military industrial Complex, that he has lied to Congress about the real use of Saudi Purchased weapons, last September?!?
Pompeo lied to Congress about Yemen to protect arms sales

Congress; please be aware; he lied to you before, to let those weaons sales go through back in September; he is lying to you right now about the "reason" we must keep being complicit in Saudi war crimes in Yemen.

Where in the name of heaven, does Donald Trump find such rapacious bottom feeders, as Bolton and Pompeo?!?

The truth is, it's easy in DC.

Just look for those with a proven track record on their willingness to lie about any country's leadership, to cause the US to go to war against it for those resources, and to conquer other countries which are blessed with intense national resources, as is happening in the Middle East with Iran; in South America, with Venezuela; and in Africa, which also has an abundance of natural resources. The US (sometimes) gets what it wants, and insures that whatever those resources are, that they are only sold in American dollars.

Then, think about the money your government paid to unseat the legally elected President of Ukraine, Yanukovytch; that was 5 billion dollars, US, folks, in 2014 United States spent 5 billion for regime change in Ukraine

Now think about how much more the US government would spend to conquer Iran and/or Venezuela, if they thought they had the best chances for regime change in those countries?!? And how many more American service members will have to die, or be maimed for life, for a potential positive outcome for the US?!?

Venezuela ... has done absolutely nothing to us, and neither has Yemen; Iran makes noises about doing something, but must likely will not do anything against the United States, particularly with Putin advising President Hassan Rouhani on international affairs.

US dollar losing luster in Russia’s foreign trade despite sanctions: Intl. audit firm

An international audit firm says Russia has successfully managed to decrease the use of US dollar in its settlements with its foreign trade partners, significantly increasing the number of deals in Russian rubles and euro.

“Tendency towards doing away with the US dollar on foreign trade is obvious. This is the way to a more stable economy and protection of it against sanctions,” said Elena Trubnikova, chairwoman of the board of FinExpertiza, a Russian network of professional audit, valuation and consulting firms, on Monday.

“This is mostly true for exports, as selling the goods for the national currency of the exporter is a natural order of things,” the RIA-Novosti further quoted her as saying.

According to a research conducted by the Moscow-based consultancy network, the share of settlements in Russia’s foreign trade using the US currency have been reduced by 12.6 percent between 2013, before Western sanctions were introduced against Russia, through 2018.

What 19th-Century Foreign Writers Said about American Freedom and Prosperity

If you look at the results of relatively open and competitive market economies over the years, the decades, and especially the last two centuries, the only conclusion that can reasonably be reached is that free market liberal-oriented societies provide the conditions and opportunities for constant and continuous material and social betterment for the vast majority of those living in such political-economic systems.

If one reflects for a moment on the fact that the historically normal and natural condition of man for all of recorded history up to about three centuries ago was abject and horrendous poverty and compare that with all that has happened during, especially the last two hundred years, the transformation in the human circumstance has been nothing short of remarkable if not seemingly miraculous...

Wisconsin Dairy Farmers Going Bankrupt In Record Numbers, Blame Trump Tariffs

A trio of major errors hit Wisconsin dairy farmers, but the last one, Trump's tariffs, was the final straw threw many Wisconsin farmers into bankruptcy.

Please consider Stung by Trump’s Trade Wars, Wisconsin’s Milk Farmers Face Extinction.

For decades, Denise and Tom Murray rose before 5 a.m. and shuffled through mud and snow to milk cows on the farm that has been in their family since 1939. This month, after years of falling milk prices and mounting debt, the Murrays sold their last milk cow, taking pictures while holding back tears as the final one was loaded onto a truck and taken away.

“It’s awful hard to see them go out the last time,” said Ms. Murray, 53. “It’s scary because you don’t know what your next paycheck is going to be.”

Protesters are run over by Maduro's armored vehicles as gunfire breaks out, sending civilians running for cover after Juan Guaido calls for military uprising, sparking clashes with pro-regime troops

Juan Guaido called for uprising against Nicolas Maduro on Tuesday from the La Carlota airbase in Caracas
Guaido made the announcement surrounded by troops who then began setting up a defensive perimeter
Maduro's forces fired tear gas before a heavy exchange of gunfire, with protesters caught in the middle
US, which backs Guaido, said President was aware while Putin, backing Maduro, was in talks with top officials.

Video footage has emerged showing President Nicolas Maduro's troops running over anti-government protesters during clashes with the Venezuelan National Guard.

Armoured vehicles operated by soldiers loyal to the besieged president were seen ploughing into demonstrators in front of La Carlota base in Caracas.

Heavy gunfire crackled through the Venezuelan capital on Tuesday after opposition leader Juan Guaido called for a military uprising to oust President Maduro.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please remember, as all of the presstitutes have been given their orders to present this to the public as a "completely indigenous protest", when it has all the earmarks of a US-led psych-ops.

Juan Guaido, Designated US puppet in Venezuela
The Making of Juan Guaido: how the US "Regime change" Laboratory created Venezuela coup leader

The article goes on to state: "Before the fateful day of January 22, fewer than one in five Venezuelans had heard of Juan Guaidó. Only a few months ago, the 35-year-old was an obscure character in a politically marginal far-right group closely associated with gruesome acts of street violence. Even in his own party, Guaidó had been a mid-level figure in the opposition-dominated National Assembly, which is now held under contempt according to Venezuela’s constitution.

But after a single phone call from US Vice President Mike Pence, Guaidó proclaimed himself as president of Venezuela. Anointed as the leader of his country by Washington, a previously unknown political bottom dweller was vaulted onto the international stage as the US-selected leader of the nation with the world’s largest oil reserves."

Echoing the Washington consensus, the New York Times editorial board hailed Guaidó as a “credible rival” to Maduro with a “refreshing style and vision of taking the country forward.” The Bloomberg News editorial board applauded him for seeking “restoration of democracy” and the Wall Street Journal declared him “a new democratic leader.” Meanwhile, Canada, numerous European nations, Israel, and the bloc of right-wing Latin American governments known as the Lima Group recognized Guaidó as the legitimate leader of Venezuela"

So, that is what we have here in Guaido; a guy schooled in "regime change", just so those in the bowels of DC ultimately control Venezuela's oil, and the method of payment for that oil, if in fact, this "Cu Cu KaCHOO" is successful.

But please remember the following; Russia has troops on the ground in Venezuela; the US came with too little too late, to prevent them from being there, at Maduro's invitation. So one has to wonder, just what their orders are?!? To keep Maduro and his family safe at all costs, and at all times??!?

One of DC's "supremely self-reinventing lower-octave bottom feeders", John Bolton, has made his statement today, that the Venezuelan people, and its military, "had" to back Guaido, and by doing that, will preserve the Venezuelan Constitution; Bollix and Codswallop, I say!!

This is about the money, and about the oil, in one of the world's most sublimely gifted countries when it comes to reserves. As Google states, "The proven oil reserves in Venezuela are recognized as the largest in the world, totaling 297 billion barrels (4.72×1010 m3) as of 1 January 2014."

Remember how Victoria Nuland bragged about how much money the US spent to get "regime change" in Ukraine?!? United States spent 5 billion dollars to achieve "Regime Change" in Ukraine which, ultimately, proved a stupid thing for it to have done, given the performance of their "anointed Savoir", Poroshenko, in the last election, where he got professionally "creamed" by a Comedian, who just won the Ukrainian election by a huge majority.Volodymyr Zelenskiy wins Ukrainian election by a landslide

How much do you think the US government is willing to spend on "regime change" in Venezuela, to get its hands around that oil?!? Many, many more billions, friends; while our Vets sleep rough in our streets, and US infrastructure is crumbling around us?

Remember; American political system is solely driven by its members' lust for money, to be made off the backs of American working people, or conquering other countries; the situation unfolding in Venezuela proves the truth of that last statement.

WITH GUN BAN NOT WORKING, POLITICIANS IN BRITAIN NOW WANT TO BAN KNIVES NATIONWIDE

If ever we needed proof of the expression that "guns don’t kill people, people kill people" look no further than Britain, where families may have to start practicing cutting their steak and bread at dinner with a spoon. This is, of course, because Britain's politicians have now made the absurdly ridiculous move to call for the banning of what Reason magazine called "the most useful tool ever invented" - the knife.

Reason reported this morning that British politicians have "declared war on knives" and are moving swiftly to try and ban them, since gun laws aren't working to help stop crime altogether:

Having failed to disarm criminals with gun controls that they defy, British politicians are now turning their attention to implementing something new and different: knife control. Because criminals will be much more respectful of knife laws than of those targeted at firearms, I guess.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am thoroughly reminded of Ron White's line about "You can't fix stupid", which is the way the British Government is trying to handle this issue.

So, soon in the UK, will Chefs' carving knives have to come with a permit?!?

One might imagine so.

Will there be "instructional videos on "how to carve meat with a plastic spoon?!? One might imagine that as well.

And will grocery stores only be allowed to send meat ground, even lamb chops and spare ribs?!?

Right now, in the UK, I wouldn't bet against it.

London's Mayor Sadiq Khan, has been such an horrendous disappointment to the British people, that if he stands again for election in this capacity, I would almost bet on a Conservative candidate trouncing on him, and winning handily.

California’s High-Speed Train Makes Solyndra Look Like a Bargain

By David Boaz

The ongoing saga of California’s high-speed bullet train may end up being as classic a story of Democratic politicians’ hubris as the Solyndra debacle. The difference is that the bullet train is still going—well, not the train itself, but the taxpayer spending on the planning—despite some optimism earlier this year that Gov. Gavin Newsom was going to put the project out of its misery. A Los Angeles Times story last week by Ralph Vartabedian is a deep dive on the consulting companies that have been intimately involved in the whole process. Here’s the most revealing nugget...

CALIFORNIA TAP WATER COULD BE SOURCE OF THOUSANDS OF NEW CANCER CASES – STUDY

An alarming new study has found that drinking tap water in California over a lifetime could significantly increase your risk of developing cancer, and may have already contributed to more than 15,500 cases.
The state’s drinking water is contaminated with chemicals like arsenic, hexavalent chromium and radioactive elements such as uranium and radium, according to researchers at the Environmental Working Group (EWG) who published their findings in the journal Environmental Health on Tuesday.

The team tested 2,737 different public water systems across California as part of their research, which served 98 percent of the state’s population. The researchers then calculated the cancer risk by establishing the average contaminant levels between 2011 to 2015, and adding them together to create a lifetime risk.

BOLTON CALLS ON VENEZUELAN MILITARY TO ‘PROTECT THE CONSTITUTION’ BY BACKING GUAIDO COUP ATTEMPT

US National Security Advisor John Bolton called on Venezuela’s military to side with Washington protégé Juan Guaido, after the opposition leader declared a military coup in Caracas on Tuesday.
Bolton, one of the leading US figures in the operation to topple the Venezuelan government, called on Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino to side with Guaido, claiming this would protect Venezuela’s constitution.

.@vladimirpadrino: The FANB must protect the Constitution and the Venezuelan people. It should stand by the National Assembly and the legitimate institutions against the usurpation of democracy. The United States stands with the people of Venezuela.

— John Bolton (@AmbJohnBolton) April 30, 2019
Padrino earlier rejected Guaido as a traitor and said on Twitter that the national armed forces (FANB) were loyal to the legitimate President Nicolas Maduro.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The whole world knows what the US wants out of this; massive access to Venezuela's oil reserves, particularly those found in the Orinoco coastal planes.Venezuelan oil reserves in the Orinoco peninsula

And Mr. Bolton, just stop talking, please; your opening your mouth and attempting to justify this coup, is so rottenly hypocritical, that it is making a huge number of Americans collectively nauseous, right before breakfast.

This is NOT about protecting the Venezuela Constitution, and you know it damned well.

It is about access to, control of, and making sure that Venezuela's oil reserves are only sold in American dollars.

Do you really think that you can continue to lie to the American people, and get away with it, after Bush's debacle on "Saddam's nuclear weapons of mass destruction"?!??

Wrong is what most of thinking people in this country understand you to be, on nearly every foreign policy decision you make; but wrong, AND colossally stupid at the same time, sir?

THAT... is a bridge too far, Mr. Bolton.

And BTW, just what are the orders of the Russian troops, already in Venezuela?!?Perhaps, to protect President Maduro from harm at all times?!?

You, sir, have, almost single-handedly, have created a trap for American military either already in Venezuela, or positioned to go, at a moment's
notice; this will be a war of attrition in an environment where the American military historically doesn't do anywhere near as well as they do in a desert environment.

Congratulations, for creating the 21st century's Vietnam, Mr. Bolton; you must be, as always, amply proud of yourself for these decisions, leading the US to the brink of war in Venezuela, and potentially Russia.

White House’s Mulvaney says China trade talks will be resolved one way or another within two weeks

The Trump administration’s trade talks with China will be resolved within the next two weeks, White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney said Tuesday.

The White House has pushed for a deal to revamp its trade relationship with China and address concerns about trade deficits, intellectual property theft and forced technology transfers. While the Trump administration has shown optimism about striking an agreement and ending a potentially devastating trade conflict between the world’s two largest economies, final sticking points have tripped up talks.
