Ukraine — Russian!

Ukraine was under Russian sovereignty for three centuries. Only the collapse of the USSR made it an independent state

Back from Kiev and Odessa, we can say that utter calm prevails in Ukraine, except for the bloody armed conflict in Donetsk. But beware of the water that sleeps.

Ukraine is bankrupt and its current corrupt rulers that came to power following the Maidan Square coup d’état — that the CIA was behind, as Putin said during his long interview with the famous American journalist Oliver Stone in 2017, and as brought out in a Mediapart forum also in 2017 — lead a disgruntled country where the majority of inhabitants are pro-Russian, in a geopolitical US-Polish impasse.

All Ukrainians without exception speak and understand Russian, which is the dominant language in major cities such as Kharkiv, Kiev, and Odessa. Until the Tartar-Mongol invasions of the thirteenth century, Russian, Belarussian and Ukrainian formed only one common language. Ukrainian, very close to Russian, is written with the same Cyrillic alphabet. In fact, only Galicia, for a long time Polish or Austro-Hungarian, looks further west than east.

Stalin’s Order #0428 – a picture is worth a thousand words… is it really?

Many ask, “How can [so-called] ‘Holocaust Deniers’ and Revisionists, deny the photographic evidence of German Soldiers killing civilians?”
The so-called, proof in pictures.

What is Order #0428 – commonly known as?
“Torch-Men-Order”
[now confirmed by todays Russian Government]

Stalins Order #0428, commanded on the 17th November 1941, declared that Partisans wearing German uniforms, particularly those of the Waffen-SS, were to destroy all settlements within a swathe of about 40 – 60 km depth from the main battle lines and to ruthlessly kill the civilian population. With these tactics it was important to leave a few survivors, who would report the supposed “German Atrocities.”
This method of warfare was also confirmed by German soldiers who captured many Russian Partisans wearing German uniforms.

Paul Craig Roberts: The CIA Owns The US & European Media

When I received my briefing as staff associate, House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, which required top secret clearance, I was told by senior members of the staff that the Washington Post was a CIA asset. Watching the Washington Post’s takedown of President Richard Nixon with the orchestrated Watergate story, that became obvious. President Nixon had made too many overtures to the Soviets and too many arms limitations agreements, and he opened to China. Watching President Nixon’s peace initiatives water down the threat level from the Soviet Union and Maoist China, the military/security complex saw a threat to its budget and power and decided that Nixon had to go. The assassination of President John F. Kennedy had resulted in far too much skepticism about the Warren Commission Report, so the CIA decided to use the Washington Post to get rid of Nixon.

REMEMBERING IRAN CONTRA

What was Iran Contra?

For starters, it was high treason.

What happened?

The US illegally sold arms to Iran and then used the profits to illegally fund terrorists in Nicaragua in an attempt to undermine the government of that country.

And they traded guns for drugs too (though that part was left out of mainstream news reporting.)

The Arkansas branch of this criminal enterprise (Mena) put Bill Clinton on the map.

Note what fantastic and arrogant liars Oliver North and company are.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The part they didn't mention: The Nicaraguan operation was also being funded by drug money!

65 Years Ago Today, the CIA Conspired with the UK to Overthrow Iran on Behalf of Big Oil

What was once considered a conspiracy theory is now a fact as the government has since admitted to carrying out Operation Ajax that was planned by the CIA in conjunction with MI6 in the UK to exploit the Iranian people and steal their oil on behalf of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company (AIOC) – the British state-owned oil company established in 1908 with this objective in mind and the forerunner of today’s global oil conglomerate BP.

1953 Iran coup – a crime authored in London and Washington

This week marks 65 years since the Western-orchestrated coup in Iran. August 19, 1953 is the day that Iranians were taught a hard lesson in the rules of the game when it comes to empire and hegemony.
For on this day, the country’s democratically elected prime minister, Mohammad Mossadegh, was overthrown at the hands of Washington and London. It was, by any measure, an act of international banditry that continues to cry out for just redress.

U.S. DOLLAR - AMERICA'S WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION

***
The days of America’s CARE Package are gone. Now the only things countries and citizens of the world see are bombs falling from the skies and their economies crashing.

However, America has not only used its nuclear bombs and every other kind of bombs and rockets, but has waged economic wars against so many countries, with devastating effect to no less degree than bombs and rockets.

The row with Turkey, which came out of the blue, is but another declared war, though of an economic nature, with America using its dollar as a weapon of mass destruction.

This is not the first time the US has used its dollar and its economic power to wage wars on countries and nations that somehow don’t fit with its own thinking.

FFF President: CIA's 1953 Coup Still Makes Iranians Furious over US

TEHRAN (FNA)- The founder and president of The Future of Freedom Foundation (FFF) described the CIA's 1953 coup in Iran as the root cause of bad ties between Tehran and Washington, saying that the Iranian people are right to be angry with the US over the incident.
"I cannot speak to how Iranians today feel about the CIA's 1953 coup that ousted Mosaddeq from power. I can say this though: If I were an Iranian citizen today, I would still be furious over what the US government did to my country in 1953," Jacob G. Hornberger told FNA on Sunday.

Iran's Mossadegh 'would have negotiated with Trump'

On August 19, 1953, an American-led military coup toppled Iran's first democratically elected government of Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh, a move described in a declassified CIA document "as an act of US foreign policy".

For the past 65 years, this event has continued to haunt the ties between Tehran and Washington - and in recent months has taken on a new significance amid a renewed diplomatic standoff between the two following US President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw from the 2015 nuclear deal and reimpose sanctions.

The move angered Tehran and prompted a range of reactions - from President Hassan Rouhani saying Iran will not negotiate while sanctions are in place, to the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei declaring that all negotiations are off the table while Trump is president.

South Korea’s Moon Steers Toward Inter-Korean Unity While Wind from Washington Blows in His Face

At the height of U.S. power following Japan’s defeat, Washington itself wrote the rules of the game for the Korean Peninsula — whether others are willing to continue playing along indefinitely remains another question entirely.

South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in marked the anniversary of Korea’s independence from Japanese colonialism with a robust call for the economic integration of North and South Korea as a means to achieve “survival and development” as well as “true liberation” for the long-divided nation.

The announcement – which focused on the creation of various joint projects including inter-Korean railway, energy, and economic links – sharply diverges from the United States’ insistence that all pursue a “maximum pressure” strategy to denuclearize the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK, as the North is officially known).

Yet Moon’s plan also hinges on the slim chance that the U.S. will offer sanctions relief>>>

Flashback: Is World War II Still ‘the Good War’?

Even as the long wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have made Americans less confident about the ways we use our military power, the struggle with the Axis remains the classic example of American might deployed for virtuous ends ... Even today, World War II helps underwrite our claim to that moral difference ... After all, the present is always lived in ambiguity. To those who fought World War II, it was plain enough that Allied bombs were killing huge numbers of German civilians, that Churchill was fighting to preserve imperialism as well as democracy, and that the bulk of the dying in Europe was being done by the Red Army at the service of Stalin

It used to be a conviction generations ago that the only certainty upon the outbreak of war was that one side would not win. Modern wars are mainly lost by both sides, though it takes awhile for this to be realized ... All times are disorderly. Bronze Age Copper From MICHIGAN Supplied Europe and Middle East

“Today, Smithsonian Institution spokesmen may not agree for politically correct reasons, but after the study of its researchers a century ago, they concluded that a civilization of a higher order than the Native American was responsible for the ancient copper mining.”

http://ancientamerica.com/missing-prehistoric-michigans-half-billion-p...

American History classes generally mention NOTHING about the ancient copper mines in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where an estimated 500,000,000 pounds of copper was mined from 5,000 to 1,200 B.C. (Interestingly, the mines were briefly reactivated on a smaller scale, suddenly ending production around 1320 A.D., +/-10 years. The Knights Templar, who discovered evidence of the Americas in Jerusalem and became very wealthy, were rounded up and almost wiped out in 1313…)

2,500-Year-Old Beer Cups Uncovered At The Cradle Of Human Civilization

The traces found on these cups represent some of the earliest evidence of beer ever found.

Scientists have long known that beer played an important role in ancient Mesopotamia, widely known as the cradle of human civilization, but they struggled to find concrete evidence of the beverage — until now.

Archaeologists discovered a new excavation technique that allowed them to detect trace amounts of beer residue on 2,500-year-old ceramic cups. In a study published in the Journal of Archaeological Science, researchers revealed their new groundbreaking technique and how it helped them discover the first chemical identification of beer in Mesopotamia (and some of the earliest evidence of beer ever forund anywhere).

The amateur radio system was shut down entirely during World War 2. Many nations required that radios or significant components be handed over to the government.

The Federal Reserve: Secretly Sticking It To Americans For Over 100 Years

Of course the central bankers will tell us that secrecy is important for “maintaining independence” and “security” of the markets. These claims that there is a legitimate need for secrecy would be slightly more credible if it were for a limited time. -- That is not the case, however. The Fed is, in many regards, a virtual black box which shall remain closed for all time, at least if officials continue to have their way. -- The most “interesting” works of the Wall Street elites in power there will never be published or examined. It is considered vital the public never knows about certain activities. -- There is only one reason for that level of secrecy: We might object.

Were German Nazis and Soviet Socialists the Same?

***
Many American self-proclaimed right-wingers seriously assert that the German Nazis were all socialists, simply because “Nazi” is short for ”Nationalsozialismus”, which translates as “National Socialism”. Therefore, they make a conclusion that the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany were ideologically the same.

Sadly, this is the level of political and historical discourse many people are at at the moment.

German Fascism/Nazism and Soviet Socialism were the polar opposites
The economy of the Third Reich was based on privately owned industries and banking institutions, with the strong government instrumentalised to instill monopoly over political processes, to crush dissent and to engage people in corporate solidarity through propaganda. >>>
***
The Soviet Union, in contrast, didn’t have private ownership of the means of production, meaning that all the farms and all the industrial assets were collectively owned, with centralised government redistributing surplus income, investing it into schools, healthcare, and other institutions that were meant to benefit regular people>>>

Israel Stamps Approval on Europe’s Largest Post-WWII Ethnic Cleansing

An AfD local leader was lambasted on social media - and by his own party - after calling Claus von Stauffenberg, a man who lead a plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler a "coward" and a "traitor." ... In modern Germany, many regard Von Stauffenberg, one of the central figures of the German Resistance, as a hero. Yet Lars Steinke, the head of the youth wing of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) in Lower Saxony, countered that view in a blunt statement, saying for him the officer was "an enemy of the German nation" ... The Bomb Didn’t Beat Japan … Stalin Did

The U.S. use of nuclear weapons against Japan during World War II has long been a subject of emotional debate ... The fact that Japan had 68 cities destroyed in the summer of 1945 poses a serious challenge for people who want to make the bombing of Hiroshima the cause of Japan's surrender. The question is: If they surrendered because a city was destroyed, why didn't they surrender when those other 66 cities were destroyed? ... The Soviet invasion invalidated the military's decisive battle strategy, just as it invalidated the diplomatic strategy. At a single stroke, all of Japan's options evaporated. The Soviet invasion was strategically decisive - it foreclosed both of Japan's options - while the bombing of Hiroshima (which foreclosed neither) was not.

Five myths about the atomic bomb

The notion that the atomic bombs caused the Japanese surrender on Aug. 15, 1945, has been, for many Americans and virtually all U.S. history textbooks, the default understanding of how and why the war ended. But minutes of the meetings of the Japanese government reveal a more complex story. The latest and best scholarship on the surrender, based on Japanese records, concludes that the Soviet Union's unexpected entry into the war against Japan on Aug. 8 was probably an even greater shock to Tokyo than the atomic bombing of Hiroshima two days earlier ... As historian Tsuyoshi Hasegawa writes in his book "Racing the Enemy," "Indeed, Soviet attack, not the Hiroshima bomb, convinced political leaders to end the war."

Hiroshima – Nagasaki And U.S. Mythology

The U.S. public has been kept in the dark or misled about foreign policy for much of our history. For example, as we commemorate the 71st anniversary of the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, let's re-examine the myth of necessity of those barbaric acts. The myth that just won't die and is believed by most Americans is that these bombings saved millions of lives and were necessary to end WWII in the Pacific. However, excellent work by Gar Alperovitz in his books and other writing, by Mark Weber in The Journal of Historical Review as well as by numerous other historians, strongly debunk this myth.

Hiroshima marks 73rd anniversary of US atomic bombing

Hiroshima marked the 73rd anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombing on Monday, with its mayor making a fresh call for a world without nuclear weapons through dialogue but stopping short of explicitly urging Japan to join a global nuclear weapons ban treaty. Despite some expectations of progress toward nuclear disarmament in recent years, Mayor Kazumi Matsui warned of the re-emergence of tensions over nuclear weapons seen during the Cold War and sought rational actions by global leaders ... At the Peace Memorial Park, a moment of silence was observed at 8:15 a.m., when the "Little Boy" uranium-core atomic bomb dropped by a U.S. bomber exploded above Hiroshima on Aug. 6, 1945. It killed an estimated 140,000 people by the end of that year.

Hawaii is the only American state that was once a kingdom. The royal family was overthrown in 1893 with decisive help from President Benjamin Harrison and US Marines. Soon afterward a new president, Grover Cleveland, condemned the overthrow as "an act of war" and asked Congress to return the royal family to power. Congress refused. Instead, in 1898, it voted to annex Hawaii. In 1959 Hawaii was admitted to the Union as our 50th state ... Visiting these islands makes clear that while Hawaii is in the United States, it is not of the United States ... Hawaii's unique history, including our evidently illegal annexation, qualifies it for some form of special status within the United States.
Note: Between Zuckerberg and Ellison the tribe will soon own the islands!

The last days of the Nazi Germany, 1945

By the beginning of 1945 the war which Germany had unleashed throughout the world had come back to consume it. In sharp contrast with what had occurred in 1918 in 1945 Germany fought, literally, to the bitter end. The Germans held out, although by early 1945 just about everyone knew that catastrophic defeat was the inevitable outcome. They did not give up even when Russian soldiers arrived in the garden of the Reich Chancellery in Berlin. Not even the Japanese resisted like that.

Boxing in 1913

This picture shows the end of a brutal boxing match between Ray Campbell and Dick Hyland. Take a look at the condition of the two fighters, battered, bloodied, bruised and staring down each other at the end of the fight. Boxing in those days was very different. There was no mandatory eight count. There was no neutral corner. If your opponent knocked you down, the second you get off your knees, you’re getting punched by a guy who’s been loading up his power shot for seconds (an eternity in the ring).

ERASED HISTORY: HOW ROCKEFELLER BANKROLLED SOVIET RUSSIA

In 1971, Gary Allen published his book, None Dare Call it Conspiracy. It quickly became an unofficial best seller.

Over the years, several million copies have been sold.

Allen’s thesis was stark: super-rich American capitalists were financing socialism. This bizarre paradox was resolved when socialism was properly understood—not as “power to the people”—but as elite power over the people. In other words, as a hoax.

These days, the socialist hoax is still unknown to most of the population.

Cloak a global power grab as progress for all of humanity.

Here, from chapter six of None Dare Call it Conspiracy, “The Rockefellers and the Reds,” is a devastating passage commenting on the period just after the Russian Revolution of 1917:

“The Rockefellers assigned their public relations agent, Ivy Lee, to sell the American public the idea that the Bolsheviks were merely misunderstood idealists who were actually kind benefactors of mankind.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Absoflippinglutely unbelievable, but understanding the wealth to be harvested, it is no surprise that wealthy industrialists did this.

(50 pics) John F. Kennedy in pictures, 1938-1963

John F. Kennedy was born into a rich, politically connected Boston family of Irish-Catholics. He and his eight siblings enjoyed a privileged childhood of elite private schools, sailboats, servants, and summer homes. During his childhood and youth, “Jack” Kennedy suffered frequent serious illnesses. Nevertheless, he strove to make his own way, writing a best-selling book while still in college at Harvard and volunteering for hazardous combat duty in the Pacific during World War II. Kennedy’s wartime service made him a hero. After a short stint as a journalist, Kennedy entered politics, serving in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1947 to 1953 and the U.S. Senate from 1953 to 1961.

When Israel Backers Claim to be Anti-racist, One Needs to Ask Questions

What to call someone who claims to oppose racism, except for that directed against Palestinians?

Judge someone by what they have done and continue to do. Consider the source. These thoughts ran through my mind as I struggled to write about Bernie Farber’s standing among some Left/liberals.

After Israel recently solidified its apartheid regime, a Facebook friend posted an opinion by illustrious pianist and conductor Daniel Barenboim titled “Today, I Am Ashamed to Be an Israeli.” While expressing opposition to its recent entrenchment of Jewish supremacism, the story effectively denied the ethnic cleansing of Palestine by claiming,

“the founding fathers of the State of Israel who signed the Declaration [of independence] considered the principle of equality as the bedrock of the society they were building.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Those who do not understand history.... are doomed to repeat it.

Young Stalin in pictures, 1894-1919

On December 18, 1879, in the Russian peasant village of Gori, Georgia, Iosif Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili (later known as Joseph Stalin) was born. The son of Besarion Jughashvili, a cobbler, and Ketevan Geladze, a washerwoman, Joseph was a frail child. At age 7, he contracted smallpox, leaving his face scarred. A few years later he was injured in a carriage accident which left arm slightly deformed (some accounts state his arm trouble was a result of blood poisoning from the injury). Stalin always felt unfairly treated by life, and thus developed a strong, romanticized desire for greatness and respect, combined with a shrewd streak of calculating cold-heartedness towards those who had maligned him. He always felt a sense of inferiority before educated intellectuals, and particularly distrusted them.

The Painted Monument to the Soviet Army in Bulgaria

The Monument to the Soviet Army is located in the King’s Garden in the heart of the Bulgarian capital of Sofia. Built in 1954, it was created as a symbol of gratitude for the Soviet Red Army for helping Bulgaria on their war efforts during the second World War. The monument depicts a soldier of the Soviet Army, surrounded by a male worker and a female peasant from Bulgaria. At the base of the monument are several bas-reliefs depicting a mishmash of scenes - soldiers in the battlefields and Bulgarian peasants at work. The entire memorial complex is surrounded by a park that has become a popular hangout for young people.

Africans in German Imperial Army, 1870-1918

The Germans, as the only colonial power amongst the Central Powers, used plenty of African soldiers of theirSchutztruppen in the African theaters of war, but they had never planned to deploy these troops in Europe and would not have been able to do so during World War I for logistical reasons anyway. However there were a few black soldiers enlisted on the German Imperial Army (Continental Army). Most were involved in non-combat duties, like musician. There is almost nothing written about them and the likely total is less than 15. Comparatively, millions of Germans served in combat and non-combat roles. Much of this was due to conscription which was not applied to the Kaiser’s African subjects.

Emperor Jean-Bedel Bokassa , seated on his tasteless golden throne for his coronation, 1977

Jean-Bédel Bokassa was a military officer and the head of state of the Central African Republic from his coup d’état on 1 January 1966. But being President wasn’t enough so in 1976 he proclaimed himself emperor of the nation, which renamed the Central African Empire. Bokassa attempted to justify his actions by claiming that creating a monarchy would help Central Africa “stand out” from the rest of the continent, and earn the world’s respect.

“Hobbit” Island: Where Humans and Animals Shrink

However, scientists have recently discovered, to their surprise, no DNA connection exists between the two groups that lived tens of thousands of years apart. “A modern pygmy population living on an Indonesian island near a cave with Homo floresiensis (‘hobbit’) fossils appears to have evolved short stature independently,” according to the report released in August 2018 by Princeton University.

London’s Secret Nuclear Reactor

For more than 30 years, between 1962 and 1996, a nuclear reactor sat at the heart of London tantalizingly close to a busy thoroughfare and to people’s homes and public buildings. Its existence so close to the metropolis was kept a secret from the public, because to tell the truth would have been extremely controversial.

The reactor was located at the basement of King William Building at the old Royal Naval College in Greenwich. The Royal Naval College was established in 1873 and was housed in a 17th century building complex designed by the highly acclaimed English architect of the time, Sir Christopher Wren. The buildings originally housed the Greenwich Hospital—a retirement home for disabled sailors of the Royal Navy. The word “hospital” merely meant a place providing hospitality. After the hospital closed in 1869, these buildings became the Royal Naval College where navy officers were trained.

'Pompeii continues to give us treasures': Archaeologists uncover new finds including 2,000 year-old frescoes and terra cotta vases after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD

Archaeologists have excavated the house of a 'wealthy and cultured' man who lived in the ancient Roman city of Pompeii that was buried by ash and rock spewed by the volcanic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.
Mount Vesuvius, on the west coast of Italy, is the only active volcano in continental Europe and is thought to be one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world.
The eruption belched out a lethal combination of toxic sulphurous gas and hundreds of tonnes of volcanic ash that buried the cities of Pompeii, Oplontis, and Stabiae overnight.
Seismic activity from Vesuvius also triggered a deadly mudflow, wiping out the ancient city of Herculaneum
Conservation work is now underway and new finds have been uncovered at a private house known as the 'House of Jupiter' (Casa di Giove) in the Regio V part of the ancient city.

36,000-year-old Meat of a Mummified Bison was used for a Stew

The steppe bison, also known as the steppe wisent, was a species that once roamed the mammoth steppe. This giant grassy area spanned from present-day Spain eastward all the way to Canada, and southward from the Arctic islands to China, during the last Ice Age.

Along with ancient horses, wooly mammoths, and wooly rhinoceroses, steppe bison was one of the most common large mammals to inhabit the vast mammoth steppe. Prehistoric paintings in the caves of Altamira and Lascaux, which are some of the oldest known examples of human art, feature steppe bison alongside figures of humans and other animals.

Jewish Power

... In proportion to their numbers, Jews are the most successful and powerful group in the United States today. They have both raw power, political and economic, and enormous intellectual influence, shaping America's self-understanding ... The Jews don't really "run" America; but they haunt it in a peculiar way that makes it seem as if they run it, and gives them a leverage out of all proportion to their numbers, and even to their raw power. They have a certain moral authority, which isn't altogether specious, but is certainly lopsided, since they are exempted from the kind of public criticism they are free to dish out.

Human rights group: Employee targeted with Israeli spyware

An Amnesty International employee has been targeted with Israeli-made surveillance software, the human rights group said Wednesday, adding to a growing number of examples of Israeli technology being used to spy on human rights workers and opposition figures in the Middle East and beyond. In a 20-page report, Amnesty outlined how it believes a hacker tried to break into an unidentified staff member's smartphone in early June by baiting the employee with a WhatsApp message about a protest in front of the Saudi Embassy in Washington. The London-based human rights organization said it traced the malicious link in the message to a network of sites tied to the NSO Group, an Israeli surveillance company implicated in a series of digital break-in attempts ..

Joyce McKinney, Kirk Anderson, And The Manacled Mormon Case

Kirk Anderson said that Joyce McKinney tied him to a bed for three days and raped him repeatedly. She said that wasn't possible.

One autumn day in 1977, the police in Devon, England got an unusual call for help. A young member of the Mormon Church claimed that he had just been imprisoned and raped by a woman for three days, chained to a bed and forced to try to impregnate her. He claimed that he’d only managed to escape after promising to marry his captor, at which point she unchained him and he fled. Newspapers throughout the country quickly seized upon the lurid story and soon headlines about the “manacled Mormon” were sweeping across England.

US used Hiroshima atomic bomb victims as ‘guinea pigs’, survivor tells RT

Survivors of the Hiroshima atomic bomb were used as lab rats for US research, and the post-war occupation forces censored media reports attempting to shed light on the atrocity, a survivor of the nuclear attack told RT.
