China quenches thirst with £4.4bn Addax deal

China’s rush to secure MiddleEastern and African energy supplies intensified as Sinopec, its state-controlled oil refiner, sealed a £4.4 billion takeover of the British-listed Addax Petroleum.

Webmaster's Commentary:

China is making deals to get the resources it needs.

The US has been dropping bombs in an attempt to get the resources it needs.

What's wrong with this picture, from a standpoint of the US approach??

ObamaCare is National Socialism

It’s failed in Canada. It’s failed in the U.K. It’s failed in Japan. The nearest American control group for this pitiful experiment is Massachussetts where, (you guessed it!) it’s another epic fail.

National Healthcare’s awful track record notwithstanding, “our government” is still attempting to bring Obamacare to fruition.

Big Brother in Basel: Are We Trading Financial Stability for National Sovereignty?

Professor Quigley...wrote in Tragedy and Hope (1966):

“[T]he powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent private meetings and conferences. The apex of the system was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world’s central banks which were themselves private corporations.”

un report praises decriminalization of drugs

In its 2009 World Drug Report, the UN had little but kind words for Portugal's radical (by U.S. standards) approach. "These conditions keep drugs out of the hands of those who would avoid them under a system of full prohibition, while encouraging treatment, rather than incarceration, for users. Among those who would not welcome a summons from a police officer are tourists, and, as a result, Portugal's policy has reportedly not led to an increase in drug tourism," reads the report. "It also appears that a number of drug-related problems have decreased."

Webmaster's Commentary:

What Portugal has done is employ a logical approach to the problem, which appears to be working.

Unfortunately here in the US, too many people are making too much money through drugs for this to ever become policy here.

But Governor, You Can Create Money! Just Form Your Own Bank

...Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has indicated that he intends to close the budget gap almost entirely through drastic spending cuts... Schwarzenegger bemoaned the fact that the state could not print its own money but said it could only spend what it had.

But the state can create its own money. After all, banks do this every day. Certified, card-carrying bankers are allowed to do something nobody else can do: they can create "credit" with accounting entries on their books. As the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas explains on its website...

The Bloodless Coup of the Global Financial Stability Board: From Guidelines to Rules

Buried on page 83 of the 89-page Report on Financial Regulatory Reform issued by the U.S. Administration on June 17 is a recommendation that the new Financial Stability Board "strengthen" and "institutionalize" its mandate to "promote global financial stability." Financial stability is a worthy goal, but the devil is in the details. Some see the new agency, which is based in the Bank for International Settlements in Switzerland, as the latest sinister development in a centuries-old consolidation of power by an international financial oligarchy.

Israel keeps Mossad chief on for Iran "shadow war"

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu extended the tenure of the Mossad chief to an eighth year on Sunday, a testament to the spymaster's perceived success in waging shadow wars against Iran and its allies. Meir Dagan, a former commando and retired general, took over Mossad in 2002 with what security sources described as a mandate to monitor and sabotage the Iranian nuclear program ahead of any decision by Israel to launch full-scale preemptive strikes.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Well, at least you can credit Tel Aviv for wanting to be upfront about waging a clandestine intelligence war against Iran, prior to an actual invasion!

But do take a second, hard look at that statement ".....Failing that, Israel, which is widely assumed to have the Middle East's only nuclear arsenal, has hinted at a military option, though many analysts think Iranian sites are too dispersed and fortified for its air force to take on alone."

Guess who is going having to go to bat for Israel, should there be a military confrontation? None other than the good old US of A.

Your kids' lives and your tax dollars will pay for this next war, should it happen.

Any of our troops left in Iraq, and elsewhere in the Middle East, will be sitting ducks for a counter attack by Iranian military forces.

And here's something to chew on. Russia is Iran's 7th largest trading partner; what are they going to do when they see their 7th largest trading partner attacked?

War with Russia, anyone????

Mullahs Funding Major Escalation in Secret Operations Against US

Iranian Mullahs agreed to a request from President Ahmadinejad last year to fund a major escalation of Revolutionary Guards covert operations against the United States aimed at destabilizing the entire government of the United States with the idea of ending their democratic form of government and installing a religious government more friendly to Tehran, and enable Tehran to establish a power base in the Americas in order to more effectively project Iranian influence across the region and the globe, define and execute operations in that area, build Iranian military bases on US soil, and effectively secure most of the US resources for Iranian consumption and or profit.

Neo-Cons Are Cheerleading For A Terrorist Who Helped Kill Hundreds Of U.S. Marines

The horrible irony to arise out of the riots and protests in Iran is that many Neo-Cons and phony conservatives, in their unified effort to enthusiastically embrace the Anglo-American establishment’s agenda for regime change, are cheerleading for a brutal thug who directed a terrorist campaign that killed hundreds of U.S. Marines in the 1980’s.

This once again proves that slack-jawed Neo-Con twits, ditto-heads for phony conservative media whores like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck, have no loyalty whatsoever to America, but only to the corrupt power structure which they like to believe they are a part of.

Iranian Interior Minister: Western Intelligence Behind Riots And Unrest

Iran’s interior minister, Sadeq Mahsouli has accused Western intelligence of backing the riots in Iran following the controversial election results.

Mahsouli’s comments were given very little mainstream media coverage, but were picked up by AFP and Reuters.

Mahsouli has claimed that U.S., U.K., and Israeli interests are behind the unrest.

“Britain, America and the Zionist regime (Israel) were behind the recent unrest in Tehran,” the Interior Minister was quoted as saying by the semi-official Fars News Agency.

“Many of the rioters were in contact with America, CIA and the MKO and are being fed by their financial resources,” he said.

The U.S. military has moved troops near Mehsud’s area under the pretext of finding Osama or Mullah Omar. This is a deception. They have been saying Osama is in Pakistan for years. Avoiding catastrophe with Iran

What was the Shah’s human rights record? The Shah instituted an interrogation organization called SAVAK. The methods used by SAVAK included electrocuting genitals, beating the soles of feet, nail extraction, rape and “cooking,” a method where a victim would be strapped to a bed of wire that was then electrified until hot.

Derek Ive of the Associated Press investigated a SAVAK prison before the Iranian Revolution and saw that each cell had “a steel bed with straps and beneath it two domestic cookers. There were lowering devices on the bed frames so that the people strapped to them could be brought down onto the flames.”

The American media’s one-sided and propagandistic coverage of the Iranian election has made an American hero out of the defeated candidate, Mousavi.

June 22, 2009 “Information Clearing House“ — -President Obama called on the Iranian government to allow protesters to control the streets in Tehran. Would Obama or any US president allow protesters to control the streets in Washington, D.C.?

There was more objective evidence that George W. Bush stole his two elections than there is at this time of election theft in Iran. But there was no orchestrated media campaign to discredit the US government.

WASHINGTON - The Pentagon will adopt a new strategy that for the first time orders the military to anticipate that future conflicts will include a complex mix of conventional, set-piece battles and campaigns against shadowy insurgents and terrorists, according to senior officials.

More Respect for Dr Ahmedinejad

Zionism, on the other hand, poses an ever-present threat to peace and stability.
The mad sectarian project of a supremacist Israeli State – with a self-appointed mandate to interfere anywhere it wishes whenever it pleases – must indeed be ‘removed from the pages of history’.
To vanquish this Mordor of our times, anti-Zionists need to re-learn the basic lessons of solidarity.
Iran and its courageous leadership are on our side. They are staunch allies and we should be grateful.

Iran: Media Loves a Revolution

More than murder, corruption, war, scandal, it’s revolution that the media adores. Revolution’s the ultimate conflict and the ultimate upset. Even more, the media loves a revolution that produces media—that is, pictures. Even better when you don’t have to send a camera crew, as with the YouTube video of the dying Iranian woman, Neda Agha-Soltan. Curiously, it may not matter whose side is revolting.

Touring Empire's Ruins: From Detroit to the Amazon

The empire ends with a pull out. Not, as many supposed a few years ago, from Iraq. There, as well as in Afghanistan, we are mulishly staying the course, come what may, trapped in the biggest of all the "too-big-to-fail" boondoggles. But from Detroit.

Of course, the real evacuation of the Motor City began decades ago, when Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler started to move more and more of their operations out of the downtown area to harder to unionize rural areas and suburbs, and, finally, overseas.

Pushing Obama's Buttons

Obama scheduled his Tuesday press conference, like the three that came before, on home turf, in the Rose Garden, just outside his office. But owing to the heat, the event was moved inside at the last minute -- to the foreign soil of the briefing room. And the press corps, which has been deferential through repeated prime-time pressers in the East Room, began to assert itself as never before in his tenure

Police discover unrest HQ in Tehran

The Intelligence and Security Department of the Tehran Police has declared that the building -- located on Tehran's Haft-e-Tir Square -- was investigated on Monday night after a search warrant was obtained, IRNA reported.

The plotters have been arrested and are currently under investigation.

Documents found in the building indicate an ongoing plot against Iran's security was being implemented, the police said in a statement.

“After scrutinizing the building, which was the campaign office of a presidential candidate, it was discovered that the organization of illegal gatherings, the promotion of unrest, and efforts to undermine the country's security were carried out from the building,” the statement added.

Question Authority

How many times have you truly asked why a certain bureaucratic edict must be followed? More importantly, what is your line in the sand where your servitude stops and your resistance begins? Just say no to big government. Once a man establishes his limitations for tolerance of interference in his life and adopts a resolute stand against the forces buffeting him against his will, the world will change.

Mousavi, Celebrated in Iranian Protests, Was the Butcher of Beirut

He may yet turn out to be the avatar of Iranian democracy, but three decades ago Mir-Hossein Mousavi was waging a terrorist war on the United States that included bloody attacks on the U.S. embassy and Marine Corps barracks in Beirut.

Clueless commentator finds conservative appalling

To anyone paying attention to the American political scene, Schiff is something of a hero.

BBC Caught In Mass Public Deception With Iran Propaganda

The BBC has again been caught engaging in mass public deception by using photographs of pro-Ahmadinejad rallies in Iran and claiming they represent anti-government protests in favor of Hossein Mousavi.

An image used by the L.A. Times on the front page of its website Tuesday showed Iranian President Ahmadinejad waving to a crowd of supporters at a public event.

In a story covering the election protests yesterday, the BBC News website used a closer shot of the same scene, but with Ahmadinejad cut out of the frame. The caption under the photograph read, ‘Supporters of Mir Hossein Mousavi again defied a ban on protests’.

Obama talks tougher on Iran, says US 'appalled and outraged' at violence

Dramatically hardening the U.S. reaction to Iran's disputed elections and bloody aftermath, President Barack Obama on Tuesday condemned the violence against protesters and lent his strongest support yet to their accusations the hardline victory was a fraud.

Personally, I am appalled at the US involvement in the violence in Iran and Iraq and Afghanistan and Somalia and ....

If Americans ever hope to feel safe in this world, it is time to MAKE their "democratically elected government" work on issues facing the US rather than messing up foreign nations in hopes that they are worse off than their own country - with nothing but personal profit as the goal.

US lawmakers target Iran gasoline imports

Spurred on by post-election turmoil in Iran, a key committee in the US House of Representatives voted Tuesday to target the Islamic republic's gasoline imports and its domestic energy sector.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Again, this is a repeat of the tactics used to overthrow Iran's democratically elected government in 1953. British and American oil interests, outraged at Mossedegh's insistence that the profits from Iran's oil remain with the Iranian people, organized a boycott of Iran's petroleum industry in order to wreck Iran's economy, leading to the overthrow and the installation of the Shah.
