Obama’s Gun Ban List Is Out

Here it is, folks, and it is bad news. The framework for legislation is always laid, and the Democrats have the votes to pass anything they want to impose upon us. They really do not believe you need anything more than a brick to defend your home and family. Look at the list and see how many you own. Remember, it is registration, then confiscation. It has happened in the UK, in Australia, in Europe, in China, and what they have found is that for some reason the criminals do not turn in their weapons, but will know that you did.

Remember, the first step in establishing a dictatorship is to disarm the citizens.

Cops Arrest Priest For Filming Them

A Roman Catholic priest who monitors law enforcement treatment of minorities with a video camera released footage that appears to contradict the police account of his own arrest.

A police report says the Rev. James Manship was confronted and arrested Feb. 19 because he was holding an "unknown shiny silver object" and struggled with an officer who was trying to take it from him. But a 15-second video released this week by Manship's attorneys shows East Haven police Officer David Cari asking Manship, "Is there a reason you have a camera on me?"

"I'm taking a video of what's going on here," Manship replies.

"Well, I'll tell you what, what I'm going to do with that camera," Cari says as he approaches the priest. The tape then goes blank.

I came to the conclusion that the Federal Reserve needed to be abolished for seven reasons. I'd like to read them to you now just so that you get an idea of where I'm coming from, as they say. I put these into the most concise phrasing that I can to make them somewhat shocking and maybe you'll remember them:

The Federal Reserve is incapable of accomplishing its stated objectives.
It is a cartel operating against the public interest.
It's the supreme instrument of usury.
It generates our most unfair tax.
It encourages war.
It destabilizes the economy.

Obama’s Budget: Where’s the Peace Dividend?

For those opposed to the Iraq War, the backsliding is bad news. But for deficit hawks, that should be good news. Right? After all, a reduction from the 140,000 troops now in Iraq to 50,000 should mean lower costs and less stress on the federal budget, which is already sinking under a sea of red ink. However, President Obama is increasing the total military budget over even the post-“surge” levels of the current year.

Police lose evidence in 'racist' professor probe

In January 2005, attorney Ala Khaider submitted a complaint to the attorney general against Dr. David Bukay, a lecturer in political science at the University of Haifa, on behalf of the Center Against Racism and Defamation.

The complaint quoted Dr. Bukay as telling his students, "The Arabs are after money, sex and alcohol. They cannot be trusted, they are stupid and they have contributed nothing to humanity."

And also, "All the Arabs have to be rounded up, a pistol held to their head and then shot. A building in which Arabs and Palestinians live must be destroyed."

Jim Cramer admits to manipulating the market.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"We had it down to a science in 1992: my wife would pick stocks that technically looked ready to go up, or she would keep track of merchandise to see what was down to tag ends. She would then generate a list of stocks that could move quickly on good news. Jeff would then go to work calling the companies to try to find anything good we could say about them. I would call the analysts to see I they were hearing anything. When we found a stock that looked ready technically to break out, or where the supply had been mopped up, and Jeff found something positive at the company, and I knew the analyst community didn’t know anything positive, we would load up with call options and common stock and then give the good news to our favorite analysts who liked the stock so they could go do their promotion. That would get the buzz going and we would then be able to liquidate the position into the buzz for a handsome profit." (Confessions of a Street Addict, page 61).

Washington Post Columnist Gives Private AIPAC Talks

Journalists should be allowed to make money from speaking engagements, but I find Beinart's appearances unseemly. AIPAC is a "controversial" organization (the adjective routinely used for Walt and Mearsheimer's book in the mainstream media). Or anyway, it's an important advocacy group on a central issue in the election. I wonder what a Time and Washington Post columnist is advocating to advocates about.

More important, Beinart's 2006 book, The Good Fight, urged Americans to make their country great again by going to war against terror in Iraq and elsewhere and in doing so utterly suppressed the Israel/Palestine issue.

“Where’s My Million Dollars?”

When I entered my friend Jason's house he was shouting into his telephone, “Where's my million dollars?” There was a pause, after which Jason insisted, “I want you to pay me the million dollars you promised me!” His face was red and he was angry.

To my shock, my senior friend, a former U.S. military intelligence officer, had been paying tens of thousands of dollars in “processing fees” to con artists that initially contacted him by mail with the “good news” of his fantastic winnings. After he mailed them checks for a few dollars, they contacted him by phone and told him to wire hundreds, then thousands, of dollars, to win his big prize, which he did. But the prize money never came. Now Jason is out tens of thousands of dollars, money he intended to leave to his children.

Now, let me explain the Wall Street scam, subsequent crisis, and bailout in a very brief, but effective way for you:

A thief breaks into your house, steels everything, and leaves you nearly broke. Law enforcement responds by visiting with the thief and the resellers of the thief's stolen goods in a very friendly setting, perhaps lunch at the Four Seasons. Law enforcement then takes the information to government officials who respond by writing the thief and the resellers a check from what is left of your checking account. They decide this too over lunch, perhaps also at the Four Seasons and on your dime.

The success of drug decriminalization in Portugal

In 2001, Portugal became the only EU-member state to decriminalize drugs, a distinction which continues through to the present. Last year, working with the Cato Institute, I went to that country in order to research the effects of the decriminalization law (which applies to all substances, including cocaine and heroin) and to interview both Portuguese and EU drug policy officials and analysts (the central EU drug policy monitoring agency is, by coincidence, based in Lisbon). Evaluating the policy strictly from an empirical perspective, decriminalization has been an unquestionable success, leading to improvements in virtually every relevant category and enabling Portugal to manage drug-related problems (and drug usage rates) far better than most Western nations that continue to treat adult drug consumption as a criminal offense.

Now, as the United States fights for its economic life, the Iran question and its alleged nuclear weapons program have again become an issue of major contention. Officials in the Obama administration and the media issued a blizzard of contradictory claims over Iran's alleged nuclear threat, leaving us wondering: who is really charge of U.S. foreign policy?

Why the Pentagon Can't Put America Back to Work

Take the Army's Future Combat System (FCS), which Noah Shachtman of Wired.com's Danger Zone blog calls a "poster child in Washington for Pentagon bloat and overreach." According to a recent Army briefing document, "The FCS Manned Ground Vehicle program encompasses more than 839 suppliers in 38 states totaling more than $6.2B in development cost impact." The only question, of course, is: How could the prospective eight-vehicle system have missed those other 12 states? Similarly, when it comes to the Navy's much desired Virginia Class Submarine, according to MSNBC's Tom Curry, "Supplier work on the subs is spread from Northampton, Mass., (Kollmorgen Corp.) to Tacoma, Wash., (Bradken-Atlas Castings) not to mention the main sub building sites in Groton and in Newport News.

Dick Cheney and Murder Internazionale.

…and continuing to unveil… uncover and reveal we now find that America’s Fischer-Price version of Darth Vader… that porcine, shit golem extraordinaire, our very own Dick Cheney was running his own Murder, Inc Internazionale. The fact that it is Sy Hirsch who is revealing it gives it a most plausible air. Even though Sy skates around certain major events of the last decade out of an understandable reluctance, still… thank you Sy.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem with having so many rich people in government is that they assume the general population is this bottomless well of money to be dipped into at will.

State sovereignty must be altered in globalized era

In the age of globalization, states should give up some sovereignty to world bodies in order to protect their own interests

Webmaster's Commentary:

Globalism is what turned an economic crisis in the United States into a world disaster. Saying that more globalism can fix it is like saying we could have saved the Titanic by backing up and ramming the iceberg a second time!

In the second attack, Facebook users received notices that they had allegedly being reported for infringing the website’s terms and conditions by a friend added in their contact lists, and instructed users to click on to a provided link which directed to an application named ‘F a c e b o o k - closing down!!!’, which after installation posted spam messages to the members added in the victim’s contact list.

Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at the Sophos blogs, notified that the users who clicked on to the malicious links were inadvertently provided the hackers access to their profile and personal data, as well as unintentionally forwarding spam messages to other members.

Regardless of his political stances, there is no doubt over the artistic dexterity of Benjamin Heine. Whoever has seen the artworks of this Belgian cartoonist admitted that he is a nimble and accomplished artist indeed. Aside from the exclusive techniques of sketching and brilliant coloring methods which he employs to personify his political cartoons, his ethical commitment and devotion to the cause of reality is what makes him different from the other cartoonists visibly.

Tangled mind of a school killer

But the teenager who, on Wednesday, went on a rampage at his former school and shot dead 15 people, also saw himself as a failure. He was said to have been mobbed by fellow pupils and teachers, suffered fits of depression, had few friends and had visited a psychiatric clinic at least five times to receive treatment.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I wonder if he was on anti-depressants.

Meanwhile, in another story, it turns out that the internet posts that announced the shooting 6 hours before it happened did NOT originate with this kid, which suggests another Columbine-esque staged event to justify a gun ban.

One might think the worst holocaust deniers—at least the only ones who command serious attention—are those who insist the Nazi holocaust, as it involved the Jews only, was without parallel.

Guenter Lewy argues for example in The Nazi Persecution of the Gypsies (Oxford University Press, 2000) that while the Gypsies were gassed, shot and otherwise exter-minated in great numbers, right alongside the Jews, they were not true victims of “the” Holocaust (capital “H”) but only of something collateral. Lewy even suggests the Gypsies invited their own destruction with certain cultural traits—in particular, sharply divergent moral standards for dealing among their own and with outsiders.

Secret emails show Iraq dossier was 'sexed up'

Secret Whitehall emails released yesterday provide damning new evidence that the notorious dossier making the case for invading Iraq was "sexed up".

They disclose that the intelligence services were sceptical over the "iffy drafting" of government claims that Saddam Hussein could mount a missile strike on his neighbours within 45 minutes of ordering an attack.

Officials privately mocked assertions that the Iraqi president was covertly trying to develop a nuclear capability and wisecracked that perhaps he had recruited "Dr Frankenstein" to his supposed crack team of nuclear scientists.

Simply having a nuclear weapon does not mean the nation that owns it will use it. Many nations possess nuclear weapons. And contrary to all the dire warnings the historical truth is that one and only one country has actually used nuclear weapons against the citizens of another nation and that country is the United States of America. For all the talk about the threat from Iraq and now the threat from Iran, it is the USA which remains the only country to have actually used a nuclear weapon.
