Tequila bar owner registers his Nottingham venue as a CHURCH in bid to open legally under Tier 3 Covid restrictions because it will be a place of worship

A tequila bar owner is trying to register his Nottingham venue as a church in a bid to stay open legally while under Tier 3 Covid-19 restrictions as it will be a place of worship.

Pubs and bars are only allowed to serve takeaway alcohol under Tier 3 rules, which will come into effect in Nottingham on Wednesday.

Places of worship, however, are allowed to have visitors, but only from people within the same household or support bubble.

In a bid to 'point out hypocrisy,' of Covid rules, owner James Aspell, 34, has applied for the 400 Rabbits Tequila and Mezcal Cocktail Bar to become 'The Church of The Four Hundred Rabbits'.

‘I Don’t Mean To Rub Salt In Your Wounds’: Swede Tells Americans What It’s Like To Live In Sweden And It’s Eye-Opening

GDP per capita rose by 50 percent in Sweden between 1995–2016. In 2018, researchers at Oxfam and Development Finance International named it the most committed country to reducing inequality, and according to the World Happiness Report 2020, it’s the 7th happiest place on Earth. So I guess it’s safe to say the Swedes have it good. But what exactly is their secret?

Colorado County Refuses to Enforce Lockdowns as Civil Disobedience Spreads Across America

Colorado officials last week announced that several counties had moved into the “red level”—the second-highest measurement on its COVID-19 dial—and would be forced to implement new regulations on restaurants, gyms, and other parts of the economy to combat the virus.

Then something remarkable happened. Weld County, a county in the northern part of the state with a population of roughly a quarter million people, politely said no.

“Instead, county government continues to do what it has done since March, which is promote and encourage residents and business owners to take individual responsibility and make decisions to protect themselves, their families, their community and their businesses,” the Board of Commissioners said in a statement.

The trouble with face masks: Protective coverings DO make it harder to talk to people and can lead to feelings of stress and isolation, survey reveals

Research from the University of Manchester found wearing a covering makes lip-reading impossible; obscures a lot of non-verbal communication, such as facial expressions; and muffles sound.

A total of 460 people were quizzed and 46 per cent said wearing a mask did alter communication, with a further 25 per cent saying it may have done.

The impact of wearing a mask on communication is worse for people with hearing problems, the study warns, and can lead to anxiety, stress and embarrassment.

Trump Supporters Defy Texas Curfew In The Name Of Patriotism

The rest of the world watches while America still struggles to deal with the COVID-19 and how to fight this so-called deadly virus. Over the past few months, Americans have endured lockdowns and mask mandates even after scientists say they do very little to help stop the spread. But to the Democrats, it isn’t about stopping the spread of the virus more than suppressing the American people into a dictatorship.

Luckily, there are still a few patriots left in this great country and like many, they won’t conform to the lunacy that is the Democratic party. That is exactly what a group of Trump supporters thought Friday night when they decided they were tired of the unnecessary curfews put on them by the San Antonio Mayor, Ron Nirenberg. And before you even ask, yes, he is a Democrat.

John Roberts Is a Freaking Coward, and It's Time to Stop Pretending Otherwise

A few days ago, I wrote on the 5-4 decision by the Supreme Court to strike down Andrew Cuomo’s clearly unconstitutional COVID regulations. They were clearly unconstitutional because they specifically and unfairly targeted religious institutions. Cuomo didn’t even really attempt to make a salient case, as one simply doesn’t exist. His rules have been arbitrary and discriminatory, worrying more about Jewish kids going to school than mass protests in the street.

Almost one-third of small businesses in New Jersey have have closed: report

A third of small businesses in New Jersey have closed down in 2020, according to a report from The Star-Ledger newspaper.

“It’s really bad… And without federal dollars coming into New Jersey, the Main Street stores and other establishments are not gonna make it through the winter.” said Eileen Kean, the state director of the National Federation of Independent Business.

Harvard-based data project TrackTheRecovery.org estimated that 31 percent of businesses have closed down so far as of Nov. 9. This number is just above the national average estimated by the website. The New Jersey Business & Industry Association reported similar numbers, estimating 28 percent of businesses had closed down by October.

City Without a Pulse

The boardwalk is empty, the beaches are deserted, and the casinos, though partially reopen, are limping into their fifth month of severely curtailed operations after four months of shutdowns. The coronavirus pandemic skewered the economic engine of this beachside town, taking the city’s vibrancy and its residents’ livelihoods out with it.

Signs of the downturn abound. The devastation is hardly unique to Atlantic City, but few places have fared worse than this historic resort turned gambling mecca. Roughly one out of every three workers was out of a job here in the late spring and early summer, a sky-high unemployment rate that still remains above the national average even after months of improvement.

EU proposes new post-Trump alliance with U.S. in face of China threat: Financial Times

The European Union is seeking to forge a new alliance with the United States to bury the tensions of the Trump era and meet the challenges posed by China, the Financial Times reported on Sunday, citing a draft plan.

The plan proposes rebuilding ties with common fronts on issues from digital regulation to tackling the COVID-19 pandemic, the FT said.

Relations between the United States and Europe have been strained under President Donald Trump. The EU and most of the bloc’s states have congratulated President-elect Joe Biden.

“As open democratic societies and market economies, the EU and the US agree on the strategic challenge presented by China’s growing international assertiveness, even if we do not always agree on the best way to address this,” the FT cited the draft plan as saying.

COVID-19 Lockdowns: Liberty and Science

The Chinese Coronavirus (COVID-19) hit American shores — officially, anyway, there is significant evidence that it arrived earlier — in late January 2020. The American public was then told that a two-week shutdown of the economy would “flatten the curve,” relieving the pressure on hospital intensive care units and saving lives in the long run.

The average American, including conservatives, being people of good faith, complied, thinking that this was a common-sense measure that would save lives in the wake of a new and mysterious pandemic.

But two things quickly happened: First, the goalposts moved. No longer was it enough to “flatten the curve.” Now we were to be locked down until there was a cure.

Censorship in the Biden Era

The corporate media have joined the incoming administration in deciding what we can and cannot see and hear.

“The danger of fascism won’t leave Washington with Donald Trump.”

Ever since Donald Trump was elected president in 2016 the country has been warned about the dangers of fascism. It isn’t difficult to see why that is the case, as he banned people from mostly Muslim nations from entering the country, separated families seeking asylum, weakened an already frayed safety net, and undid the protections provided by a variety of government regulations.

The racist right wing was certainly ascendant during his administration, but the danger of fascism won’t leave Washington with Donald Trump. The obnoxious racist may be the public face of tyranny, but there is another danger coming from sectors of the Democratic Party. Their goal is to censor any points of view that undermine their neoliberal and imperialist narratives.

France Passes New Law To Ban Discrimination Based On Regional Accents

France, having solved all other major problems in its country, has found an untouched area of people's free speech for big government to weigh in on: stereotypes against regional accents.

In fact, people who make assumptions based on others' regional accents are committing a new type of prejudice that the French are calling glottophobie. The Assemblée Nationale "has adopted legislation making linguistic discrimination an offence along with racism, sexism and other outlawed bigotry," according to the Guardian.

The legislation was voted in 98 to 3.

Despite the overwhelming vote, it was widely debated in the house.

Jean Lassalle, a former presidential candidate, said of the law: “I’m not asking for charity. I’m not asking to be protected. I am who I am.”

UK Government Running 'Orwellian' Unit To Block Release Of "Sensitive" Information

The British government has been accused of running an ‘Orwellian’ unit in Michael Gove’s office that instructs Whitehall departments on how to respond to Freedom of Information requests and shares personal information about journalists, openDemocracy can reveal today.

Experts warn that the practice could be breaking the law – and openDemocracy is now working with the law firm Leigh Day on a legal bid to force Gove’s Cabinet Office to reveal full details of how its secretive ‘Clearing House’ unit operates.

Freedom of Information (FOI) requests are supposed to be ‘applicant-blind’: meaning who makes the request should not matter. But it now emerges that government departments and non-departmental public bodies have been referring ‘sensitive’ FOI requests from journalists and researchers to the Clearing House in Gove’s department in a move described by a shadow cabinet minister as “blacklisting”.

Johns Hopkins Study Mysteriously Disappears After It Revealed, in Spite of COVID, No More Deaths in 2020 Than in Prior Years

Kim Jong Un is cutting off his economic lifeline, China, to stave off Covid-19

Kim Jong Un appears to have kicked North Korea's pandemic prevention plan into overdrive, further tightening the country's nearly impassible borders, cutting off nearly all trade with China, and even allegedly executing a customs official for failing to handle imported goods appropriately.

Beijing exported just $253,000 worth of goods to Pyongyang in October -- a drop of 99% from September to October, according to data published by China's customs administration. For context, that's less in terms of dollar value than China exported to Liechtenstein and Monaco during October.

China is North Korea's biggest trading partner and effectively the Kim regime's economic lifeline -- the country basically doesn't import significantly from anywhere else. Before major UN sanctions were put in place as punishment for North Korea's nuclear weapons program in 2016 and 2017, Beijing accounted for more than 90% of Pyongyang's foreign trade.

Millennials and Gen Z Forced Back Home: 52% of 18- to 29-year-olds live at Home with their Parents, the Highest Percentage Dating Back 120 Years.

Younger Americans face a daunting jobs market. Covid-19 has crushed the employment market especially with entry level positions and internships which are typically used as platforms into full-time career opportunities. The Class of 2020 has graduated into the worst economy in modern history. While some sectors in the economy are hiring, these jobs are a small portion of the overall economy that needs to provide opportunities to millions of recent graduates and those without college degrees. So it comes as no surprise that a record number of young Americans are now living at home. In fact, in 120 years of record keeping, we are now at the highest percentage on record – 52% of those 18- to 29-years-old are now living with their parents. That is a stunning number and has implications for the next decade of our economic growth.

President-Elect Not Decided Until Electoral College Votes: Sen. Blunt

Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) on Sunday declined to refer to Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden as president-elect, saying that while Biden’s team now has access to transition funds, the title will only be formalized after the Electoral College votes next month due to contested election results.

Ethiopia PM says Tigray operation over after army seizes Mekelle

Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has announced the end of military operations in the northern Tigray region after the army said it was in “full control” of the regional capital, Mekelle.

Since November 4, the Ethiopian government has been trying to quell a rebellion by a powerful ethnic faction, the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), in a war that has shaken the Horn of Africa. Thousands of people are believed to have died and nearly one million forced from their homes, including some 43,000 refugees who fled to neighbouring Sudan.

In a statement on Twitter on Saturday, Abiy said he was “pleased” to share that the military operations in the Tigray region had been “completed and ceased”.

Once enemies, Ethiopia and Eritrea ally against Tigray

Eritrea has been involved in the Tigray crisis in Ethiopia from day one, experts have said. But even though the two countries are fighting together against a common enemy, that does not make them friends.

After more than three weeks of war, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has claimed victory in his military campaign against Tigray's ruling party, the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF). The fierce fighting there has left thousands of civilians and security forces dead, according to the International Crisis Group. More than 40,000 people have reportedly fled the conflict area, mostly to Sudan. With Abiy resisting calls for dialogue, fears are growing that Ethiopia's internal conflict could spread beyond its borders.

The Coming Cyber-Industrial Complex: A Warning for the New US Administration

Sixty years ago an outgoing, conservative American president warned both his more liberal successor and his fellow citizens to guard against a worrying trend he saw emerging during his time in office. President Eisenhower’s farewell address made infamous the term “military-industrial complex” as a summation of the rapidly increasing reliance of a peacetime economy on government contracts to develop military-grade machines, weapons, and information systems. He worried that the short-term benefits brought on by increased military investment in the private economy could blind public decision-makers and American society to the perverse incentives of greater, even continuous, involvement in violent conflict. Bidding adieu, Eisenhower asserted “the technological revolution during recent decades” was “akin to, and largely responsible for the sweeping changes in our industrial-military posture.”

Yemenis Are Being Starved to Death

The U.N. Secretary-General warned last week that Yemen faces the worst famine in decades:

Like most modern famines, the famine in Yemen is entirely man-made. It is the result of the Saudi coalition’s military intervention and economic war against the country. The U.S. has been supporting the Saudi coalition in these policies for more than five and a half years. Yemen suffers from the world’s worst humanitarian crisis because of the predictable and predicted consequences of waging a senseless war in this country, and the US shares culpability for the enormous harm done to innocent civilians from the Saudi coalition’s bombing and blockade. The humanitarian crisis has worsened this year as international donations have dried up and the Trump administration has suspended aid funding to the part of Yemen where most of the people live in a destructive bid to pressure the Houthis.

EXCLUSIVE: Native American Voter Bribe Efforts Were Partially Funded By Soros and Government Agencies — Powered By Act Blue

Efforts to bribe Native Americans to vote in states crucial for the Democrats were partially funded by George Soros’ Open Society Foundation and government agencies.

Vote Native is an initiative of the National Congress of American Indians.

As the Gateway Pundit reported on Sunday evening, Native Americans in Arizona, Nevada and a slew of other states were given gift cards, televisions, electronics, and even resort stays in exchange for voting. These efforts were largely coordinated by the NCAI.

According to their website, the NCAI is partnered with the controversial Open Society Foundation, which was founded by Soros. The group also lists the Department of Agriculture, Department of Defense, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of the Interior, Department of Justice, Environmental Protection Agency, and the Small Business Administration as government partners.

The groups are also calling for a protest at Raffensperger’s home on Monday evening.

Raffensperger claims that he was ordering them to be reset ahead of the senate runoff election, but a reset would wipe all votes from the general election — the results of which are still being hotly contested by the Trump campaign.

Can We Make Our Robots Less Biased Than We Are?

On a summer night in Dallas in 2016, a bomb-handling robot made technological history. Police officers had attached roughly a pound of C-4 explosive to it, steered the device up to a wall near an active shooter and detonated the charge. In the explosion, the assailant, Micah Xavier Johnson, became the first person in the United States to be killed by a police robot.

Afterward, then-Dallas Police Chief David Brown called the decision sound. Before the robot attacked, Mr. Johnson had shot five officers dead, wounded nine others and hit two civilians, and negotiations had stalled. Sending the machine was safer than sending in human officers, Mr. Brown said.

Whole Foods CEO Warns: 'Capitalism Cannot Be Replaced With Disastrous Socialism'

Global leaders are using the virus pandemic to exert control over the world's population under the guise of preventing the spread of COVID-19. The pandemic has provided elites with an opportunity to reset the global economy and abandon capitalism for socialism.

In the US, business leaders and politicians are fretting over a socialist system under a Biden presidency.

Whole Foods founder and CEO John Mackey recently spoke with America Enterprise Institute's President Robert Doar about what socialism would mean for the country. Mackey called it a "failed system that "impoverishes everything," according to Just The News.

While referring to the criticism of "trickle-down economics," Mackey told Doar that socialism means "trickle up poverty."
