The world's population is growing.. and quickly!
In just the next seven years, India, which now has 1.3 billion people is expected to overtake China as the most populous country in the world.
According to a United Nations report, by 2050, Nigeria, now the seventh largest country is projected to pass the U.S. population of around 326 million people as the third most populated.
Director of the Economic and Social Affairs' Population Division, John Wilmoth says, "The population in Africa is notable for its rapid rate of growth, and it is anticipated that over half of global population growth between now and 2050 will take place in that region."
The U.N. forecasts that the following nine countries will see most of that growth: India, Nigeria, Congo, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Tanzania, United States, Uganda and Indonesia.
China is in Africa for the same reason that the US is there as well; the embarassment of riches in natural resources to exploit.
