Elton John defends Harry and Meghan's use of private jets

Sir Elton John has defended the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's use of private jets - and said he paid to carbon offset their trip to his French home.

The singer said he provided Prince Harry, Meghan and their son Archie with his private plane to "maintain a high level of much-needed protection".

The royal couple have faced criticism after newspapers claimed they took four private jet journeys in 11 days, including to Sir Elton's home in Nice.

Buckingham Palace declined to comment.

Pictured: Eco-lecturers Meghan Markle and Prince Harry board their private jet with baby Archie for fourth gas-guzzling flight in just 11 days as they leave the south of France 'after visiting Elton John's $18m mansion' on three-day jaunt

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were embroiled in another hypocrisy row today after being pictured leaving the south of France over the weekend in a fourth trip by private jet in just 11 days.

Prince Harry and Meghan, who have been outspoken on environmental issues in recent months, generated an estimated seven times the emissions per person compared to a commercial flight when flying home from Nice.

Those screaming loudest about “climate change” are flying around in private jets and living in luxurious, energy-wasting homes

Yes, most people want to live on a planet that is clean and less polluted, but they don’t want to pay reparations to the elite ruling glass, submitting to carbon taxes and geoengineering schemes that have unintended consequences. The real problem with the environment is the Hollywood A-listers who fly around the world pretending they can save the planet. Moreover, eliminating carbon from the atmosphere will have unintended consequences.

It’s easy to photograph a chunk of ice breaking off of Greenland in the summer months, but no one is under water during the winter documenting how the ice forms slowly along the bottom. It’s easy to cherry-pick temperature data during a warm front, as long as the data allows you to confirm a theory that will keep money rolling in to fund your “research.”

'Lightweight hoax swallower': Alan Jones, Aussies slam Jacinda Ardern over climate change

Australian radio shock jock Alan Jones has lashed out at Jacinda Ardern - calling her a "complete clown" and a "lightweight Prime Minister".

"I just wonder whether Scott Morrison is going to be fully briefed to shove a sock down her throat," he said on Sydney radio station 2GB.

Jones and other Aussies earlier slammed Ardern over pointed comments aimed at Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison over climate change, claiming she had a "cargo cult mentality".

Ardern and Morrison both landed in Tuvalu for the Pacific Islands Forum, where Australia is facing pressure to take greater action on climate change.

States Sue Trump Over Plans To Ding Obama-Era Environmental Regs, Triggering Legal Fight

More than two dozen states and cities sued the Trump administration Tuesday to block President Donald Trump from easing environmental restriction on coal power plants.

New York Attorney General Letitia James, a Democrat, is leading the charge. She argues the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) had no basis for weakening a regulation brought by former President Barack Obama that placed national limits on carbon dioxide pollution from coal power plants.

CLIMATE CRAZY: UNIVERSITY BANS BURGERS TO SAVE PLANET… GORE: ‘Point of No Return’.

Beef burgers have been banned by a university as part of efforts to tackle the climate emergency.

Goldsmiths, University of London said it is to remove all beef products from sale from next month as the institution attempts to become carbon neutral by 2025.

Students will also face a 10p levy on bottles of water and single-use plastic cups when the academic year starts to discourage use of the products.

The college’s new Warden, Professor Frances Corner, said staff and students "care passionately about the future of our environment" and that "declaring a climate emergency cannot be empty words".

But the National Farmers’ Union (NFU) told PA the move was "an overly simplistic approach" and said there was a "lack of understanding or recognition between British beef and beef produced elsewhere".

What impact are data centres having on climate change?

In 2016, it was reported that the world’s data centres used more than Britain’s total electricity consumption - 416.2 terawatt hours, significantly higher than the UK’s 300 terawatt hours. At three percent of the global electricity supply and accounting for about two percent of total greenhouse gas emissions, data centres have the same carbon footprint as the aviation industry.

Recent predictions state that the energy consumption of data centres is set to account for 3.2 percent of the total worldwide carbon emissions by 2025 and they could consume no less than a fifth of global electricity. By 2040, storing digital data is set to create 14 percent of the world’s emissions, around the same proportion as the US does today.

Report Sheds Light On The Rockefeller Family’s Covert “Climate Change” Plan

Op-Ed by Arjun Walia

The climate is changing, and it has been changing for a very long time. In fact, the climate has always been changing, and there are a myriad of factors that influence climate change like solar activity and much more. If you’re not educated on climate science, it’s easy to adopt the “doomsday” perspective that’s often dished out by mainstream media. However, when you look at what actual climate scientists are saying, it doesn’t seem like anyone on either side agrees with the media’s “climate hysteria” narrative...

The $20million climate change party: How Camp Google racked up an 800-tonne carbon footprint flying 'hypocritical' celebrities to environmental talking shop on 114 private jets to watch Coldplay and hang out on mega-yachts

BBC presenter Andrew Neil was among those to point out the irony, saying: 'Scores of celebrities and the rich have arrived in Sicily for a Google conference. They came in 114 private jets and a flotilla of super yachts. The conference is on global warming.'

Sources told Page Six that the total cost of the Google-funded showpiece would run to around $20million.

The combined carbon footprint of dozens of flights from Google's Los Angeles base to the Verdura resort would also come to around 780 tonnes of C02, although it is not clear where all the guests travelled from.

Flashback: Al Gore’s Carbon Footprint Hypocrisy

Gore’s 20-room, 10,070-square-foot, Colonial-style mansion consumed an average of 19,241 kilowatt-hours per month—more than 21.3 times that of the U.S. household average of 901 kilowatt-hours monthly.

Last September alone, Gore’s home in the toney Belle Meade section of Music City consumed 30,993 kWh, as much energy as a typical American family uses in 34 months.

In the 12-month period from August 2016 through the end of July, Gore burned through 230,889 kWh of electricity, including 66,159 kWh just to heat his swimming pool. The latter alone is enough, the report says, “to power six average U.S. households for a year.”

Climate change bombshell: Humans are NOT to blame for global warming claims shock study

Scientific Reports published the research from academics from Northumbria University, the University of Bradford, the University of Hull as well as Azerbaijan’s Nasir al-Din al-Tusi Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory. The authors claim the increase in global temperatures by 1C (33.8F) was due to natural solar cycles as well as the Sun’s movement around the barycentre, the centre of mass in the Solar System. The paper claimed that by the 27th Century, temperatures might increase by 3C (37.4F).

Study confirms that man-made climate change is completely fake (so much for consensus…)

Just how much of a threat to the subsistence of our planet is man-made climate change, according to the latest scientific data? It’s not actually a threat at all, it turns out, because man-made climate change doesn’t exist.

This is the conclusion of a new study out of Finland, in which researchers from the University of Turku determined that the contribution of humans to global temperature increases over the past century is negligible, at best.

While planetary temperatures are said to have risen by about 0.1 degrees Celsius over the past 100 years, human activity contributed only about 0.01 degrees Celsius of this, or about 10 percent.

Entitled, “No experimental evidence for the significant anthropogenic climate change,” the paper reiterates that global temperature fluctuations are primarily influenced by things like cloud cover that have absolutely nothing to do with humans eating meat, driving cars, or raising livestock that fart.

With 147 million dead trees, Californians brace for fire

This is the state of much of the Sierra, where aerial surveys from 2010 and 2018 counted 147 million trees that died from drought and invasive beetles. A key at-risk burn zone is between 4,000- and 6,000-foot elevations on the west flank of the central Sierra, where large swaths of pine trees lay dead. Other high-risk areas include the west flank of Yosemite and national forest just north of Lake Tahoe, according to a study and map analysis by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and the U.S. Forest Service.

It’s a testament to the new era of wildfire danger: Even in a year with landmark rain and snow totals in California, and a benign start to fire season in June, the chance of another round of catastrophic wildfires this late summer and fall has fire experts cringing.

“It’s just a matter of time,” says Amy Head, a Cal Fire battalion chief. “When it happens, we’re looking at dry standing fuel ready to burn, and it could be pretty catastrophic.”

Bombshell Claim: Scientists Find "Man-made Climate Change Doesn't Exist In Practice"

A new scientific study could bust wide open deeply flawed fundamental assumptions underlying controversial climate legislation and initiatives such as the Green New Deal, namely, the degree to which 'climate change' is driven by natural phenomena vs. man-made issues measured as carbon footprint. Scientists in Finland found "practically no anthropogenic [man-made] climate change" after a series of studies.

“During the last hundred years the temperature increased about 0.1°C because of carbon dioxide. The human contribution was about 0.01°C”, the Finnish researchers bluntly state in one among a series of papers.

US military is world’s ‘single largest producer’ of greenhouse gases – report

The Pentagon is the “single largest producer of greenhouse gases in the world,” according to a new study about climate change that accuses the Trump administration of being in “various modes of denial” about it.

The report, from Brown University’s ‘Costs of War’ project, focuses specifically on "post-9/11 wars" and their impact on emissions. It estimates the US military has been responsible for 1,212 million metric tons of greenhouse gases between 2001 and 2017. Emissions from “overseas contingency operations” in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and Syria accounted for more than 400 million metric tons of CO2. In 2017 alone, the report says, “the Pentagon's emissions were greater than all emissions from Sweden or Denmark.”

Listening to climate doomsters makes our situation worse

James Anderson (Prof of Atmospheric Chemistry at Harvard) gave a speech. It fed the daily doomster news from the Left. "There Is No Time Left" by Robert Hunziker at Counterpunch. Journalist Jeff McMahon, presented it at Forbes as yet another in the endless series of deadlines: "We Have Five Years To Save Ourselves From Climate Change." (see lists of such deadlines going back many years: here, here, here). But, as usual, Grist went into deep clickbait.

Professor Anderson believes that we have only 55 months left to "fix climate change" or we will go extinct. Some of the predictions in his speech rely on the work of other scientists (e.g., more and stronger storms in a warmer world, as predicted by Professor Michael Mann). His doomster prediction has little support from the IPCC’s reports.

Achieving 100 per cent clean energy target would 'disproportionately' impact low-income households

Reaching the Government's (Left Wing Labour) "ambitious" 100 per cent renewable energy target may increase average households' power bills by $300 a year and will a disproportionately impact low-income households.

It would also see power prices for businesses significantly increase.

This is according to the Independent Climate Change Committee's (ICCC) report into how New Zealand can reach the 100 per cent target.

The report, initially expected to be released in April, will not be publically released for at least a few weeks.

But a copy of the draft report was obtained by the Herald.

It reveals that if New Zealand achieves the target by 2035, there would be "large increases in retail electricity prices from today's levels".

People have long been enchanted by this land, and it’s easy to see why: Nowhere on Earth has such a stunning display of wildlife, matched with an incredible assortment of geologic activity in the form of hot springs and geysers. It really is, as it was referred to in its early days, a wonderland.

As of Friday, it’s officially summer in Yellowstone, and all manner of animals are out, breeding, eating grass, hunting, running, lounging, menacing, cowering, playing, rejoicing. Yellowstone is alive. And guess what? It’s snowing!

Oh, look – The mainstream media was WRONG again with its phony climate change predictions

Back in 2008, ABC aired a global warming propaganda series entitled, "Earth 2100" that predicted major calamities to occur all around the world by the year 2015 as a result of climate change. But, wouldn’t you know it? None of the show’s fear-mongering prognostications ever actually came to pass.

During a recent episode of his radio show, conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh mocked the contents of a trailer for "Earth 2100" that once aired as part of a "Good Morning America" promotion. In it, the on-screen subtitles suggested that past civilizations like the Roman and Mayan empires collapsed, not because of war and conflict, but because of climate change.

"100 years from now, if New York is abandoned, I picture some explorer coming to Manhattan saying, ‘Those ignorant people! How on earth could they have ever expected to survive?’" one of the film’s "experts" is heard saying during the promo, along with scary music and imagery of the planet dying.

The US military is among the world's biggest contributors to climate change and is responsible for more emissions than some entire COUNTRIES, study says

In a study by scientists from Durham and Lancaster University published in Transactions of the Institute of British Geographers, researchers examine emissions stemming from the US military's logistical supply chains.

Just taking into account emissions stemming from fuel usage the researchers say that if the US military were a country, it would be the 47th biggest contributor to climate change worldwide, in between Peru and Portugal according to World Bank data.

In 2017, the US military purchased 269,230 barrels of oil per day according to researchers, with the Navy topping all other branches by spending a whopping $4.9 billion on fuel.

Sweden's Electric Car Boom Is Under Threat From Power Crunch

Sweden’s ambitious plan to drastically cut emissions from transport by bringing millions of electric cars onto the road could be derailed by a lack of power capacity for new charging stations in major cities.

An increase in government grants sent sales of electric cars surging by 253% in the first five months this year, but the rally could be over before it’s really started. Demand for electricity in Stockholm and other cities is outgrowing capacity in local grids, forcing new charging networks to compete with other projects from housing to subway lines to get hooked up.

In what forecasters are calling a "rare" event, Australia saw snow Monday in parts of its eastern coast that hadn't had a significant snowfall in four years.

"A few snowflakes seen this morning near the NSW border at Eukey, just south of #Stanthorpe," the Bureau of Meteorology in Queensland wrote in a tweet.

California snowpack 202% of average for this time of year

The amount of snow blanketing the Sierra Nevada is even larger than the 2017 snowpack that pulled the state out of a five-year drought, California water officials said.

As of Thursday, the snowpack measured 202% of average after a barrage of storms throughout winter and spring, according to the Department of Water Resources.

The wet weather has slowed but not stopped, with thunderstorms prompting flash flood warnings Sunday in the central and southern parts of the state.

At this time last year, the snowpack measured 6% of average — making this year 33 times bigger than 2018, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

In 2017, the snowpack measured 190% of average.

The snowpack supplies about 30 percent of state water needs.

Delingpole: To Survive, Britain’s Conservatives Must ‘Get Rid of the Green Crap’

Besides the Brexit Party, one of the big winners of the European Parliament elections — in Germany, France, Austria, Sweden, Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark and the UK — were the Greens.
There’s a lesson buried in this story — but it’s not what you might think. And it’s definitely, definitely the opposite of the conclusion being drawn by the Conservative Party.

In the Conservative mindset, green issues are one of those politically neutral, morally and socially positive causes you can embrace without betraying your principles or alienating your base.

This delusion is widespread, as we can see from the number of Tory leadership candidates who have decided to campaign on a green-friendly platform. Rory Stewart, Michael Gove, Boris Johnson, Jeremy Hunt, Matt Hancock, even the hard-headed and supposedly right-wing Dominic Raab have all, with varying degrees of canting enthusiasm, mentioned environment and climate change among their urgent priorities.

Corporate media accidentally admits higher CO2 levels were present on planet Earth millions of years before humankind ever existed

Hilariously, in the process of fear-mongering about CO2 levels supposedly reaching critical levels today, new “research” by the American Geophysical Union (AGU) claims that, if something isn’t done now to reverse this alleged disastrous trend towards apparent planetary CO2 suffocation, total human CO2 emissions “could match those of Earth’s last major greenhouse warming event” – which AGU says occurred during the “Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum” period roughly 56 million years ago.

But wait: What would have caused CO2 levels to reach epic proportions 56 million years ago before humans were even in the picture? AGU doesn’t say, nor does it address the fact that 56 million years ago, there were no vehicles around to burn fossil fuels, either.

Sea level data ALTERED by scientists to create false impression of rising oceans

A scientific paper published by a team of Australian researchers has revealed a startling find: Scientists at the Permanent Service for Mean Sea Level (PSMSL) have been “adjusting” historical data regarding tide levels in the Indian Ocean. Their “highly questionable” activities have depicted rapidly rising seas — but the truth is that there is no reason to be alarmed at all. Scientists have found that sea levels are stable — and have been for the entirety of the 20th century.

To put it simply, these PSMSL “scientists” have been arbitrarily changing their data in order to create the illusion of a problem that doesn’t actually exist.

According to the Australian research team, sea levels in the Indian ocean have remained stable for decades. Dr. Albert Parker and Dr. Clifford Ollier recently published their astounding research in the journal Earth Systems and Environment; their extensive research gives an in-depth look at how this massive deception was undertaken.

Flashback: In Search Of... The Coming Ice Age

In this day and age of global warming alarmism people either forgot or don’t know that there was a time only 35 years ago when “scientists” were screaming and warning us of the coming ice age.

Below is an episode of “in Search of …”, a 1970s show hosted by Leonard ‘Mr. Spock’ Nimoy that explored mysteries of the day. This particular episode first aired in May, 1978 and explores “The Coming Ice Age.”

I find this episode interesting because they present the same historical data and trends we’re familiar with today – including the 40 year temperature decline that had begun 40 years earlier. But in the late 70s alarmists interpreted this data to mean an ice age was imminent.
