JPMorgan’s $9 Billion Witness Puts Government Testimony by Her Boss into Question

Two years after attorney Alayne Fleischmann was downsized out of her job as a Transaction Manager at JPMorgan Chase, her boss, William Buell, was hauled before the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission (FCIC) for interrogation on just how culpable the bank was in packaging and selling toxic mortgage backed securities.

Buell is the same man that Fleischmann exposed in a Rolling Stone feature article by Matt Taibbi last week as the recipient of her detailed, internal letter in early 2007, warning him that the mortgage pools her group was reviewing contained poor quality mortgage loans unfit for purchase or securitization. Despite the written warning, Fleischmann would later learn that JPMorgan, in a drive to boost market share and profits, went forward and purchased the pool, securitized many of the loans, then sold them to unsuspecting investors.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There was a documentary produced about the 2008 melt-down called "Inside Job." It won the Oscar for best documentary then pretty much vanished from the American TV networks while the HBO movie "Too Big To Fail", which portrayed the Wall Street executives at the heart of the disaster as heroic figures struggling to deal with bad luck, was splashed across the cable channels. But as the above article illustrates, those Wall Street executives caused the collapse of 2008 by engaging in massive and deliberate fraud.

You don't protect my freedom: Our childish insistence on calling soldiers heroes deadens real democracy

Wars that are not heroic have no real heroes, except for the people who oppose those wars. Far from being the heroes of recent wars, American troops are among their victims. No rational person can blame the soldier, the Marine, the airman, or the Navy man for the stupid and destructive foreign policy of the U.S. government, but calling them “heroes,” and settling for nothing less, makes honest and critical conversations about American foreign policy less likely to happen. If all troops are heroes, it doesn’t make much sense to call their mission unnecessary and unjust. It also makes conversations about the sexual assault epidemic, or the killing of innocent civilians, impossible. If all troops are heroes, it doesn’t make any sense to acknowledge that some are rapists and sadists.

This Is What Happens When Trying To Get To The Bottom Of The UBS Gold-Rigging Scandal

As reported previously, and as had been suspected for years, the gold manipulation cartel is slowly breaking apart, and courtesy of the FT, we now know at least one individual directly implicated in Swiss gold-rigging: the former head of UBS's gold desk in Zurich, André Flotron.

So as part of our diligence, because apparently no other media will touch the topic of gold rigging until and unless it is shoved in their face on a, ahem, silver platter, because after all the subject matter is just too "conspiratorial", we decided to ask Mr. Flotron some on the record questions, and sent him the following email:

The FBI: America’s Secret Police

Every regime has its own name for its secret police: Mussolini’s OVRA carried out phone surveillance on government officials. Stalin’s NKVD carried out large-scale purges, terror and depopulation. Hitler’s Gestapo went door to door ferreting out dissidents and other political “enemies” of the state. And in the U.S., it’s the Federal Bureau of Investigation that does the dirty work of ensuring compliance, keeping tabs on potential dissidents, and punishing those who dare to challenge the status quo.

Whether the FBI is planting undercover agents in churches, synagogues and mosques; issuing fake emergency letters to gain access to Americans’ phone records; using intimidation tactics to silence Americans who are critical of the government, or persuading impressionable individuals to plot acts of terror and then entrapping them, the overall impression of the nation’s secret police force is that of a well-dressed thug, flexing its muscles and doing the boss’ dirty work.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Oh, and let me add: I am a Christian pacifist who abhors violence, and would never advocate it.

OK, FBI, DEAL WITH IT!! :-)

BREAD, CIRCUSES & BOMBS – DECLINE OF THE AMERICAN EMPIRE – PART TWO

It seems there were a few visionary thinkers in the late 1950s who foresaw the dire course our former Republic was setting. Their writings were a prophecy and a warning. There was still time to change course and avoid the pitfalls that led to the Roman Empire collapse. In Brave New World Revisited, Aldous Huxley warned against allowing a few amoral men using propaganda, scientific advancements, technology, brainwashing, and economics to control and manipulate a willfully ignorant populace into a dystopian dictatorship. The Soviet and Chinese dictatorships of the late 1950s are long gone, but Huxley foresaw how modern propaganda techniques would be used by the state to drown the masses in a sea of triviality, irrelevance, and consumerism.

Britain may begin offering speech licenses to cut down on ‘extremist’ speech

In Britain, if you have extreme views on anything from Western democracy to women’s role in public life, you might soon require a license from the government before you can speak in public. Seriously.

Nearly 350 years after us Brits abolished the licensing of the press, whereby every publisher had to get the blessing of the government before he could press and promote his ideas, a new system of licensing is being proposed. And it’s one which, incredibly, is even more tyrannical than yesteryear’s press licensing since it would extend to individuals, too, potentially forbidding ordinary citizens from opening their gobs in public without officialdom’s say-so.

It’s the brainchild of Theresa May, the Home Secretary in David Cameron’s government. May wants to introduce “extremism disruption orders”, which, yes, are as terrifyingly authoritarian as they sound.

US government sees off legal challenge over Guantánamo force-feeding

The Obama administration has prevailed in the first court challenge to its controversial force-feedings of detainees at Guantánamo Bay, even as the judge ruling in the government’s favor criticized its lack of “common sense and compassion”.

Gladys Kessler, a federal judge in Washington DC, denied Abu Wa’el Dhiab’s request to significantly change the manner in which the US military transfers, restrains and forcibly feeds detainees on hunger strike to protest their confinement. Kessler’s ruling, siding with the government in nearly every particular, is the denouement of a courtroom drama that in May saw a civilian judge ordering the military to briefly halt Dhiab’s forced feeding.

The Mystery of Ray McGovern’s Arrest

Why, I asked myself, would the New York City police arrest me and put me in The Tombs overnight, simply because a security officer at the 92nd Street Y told them I was “not welcome” and should be denied entry to a talk by retired General David Petraeus? In my hand was a ticket for which I had reluctantly shelled out $50.

I had hoped to hear the photogenic but inept Petraeus explain why the Iraqi troops, which he claimed to have trained so well, had fled northern Iraq leaving their weapons behind at the first whiff of Islamic State militants earlier this year. I even harbored some slight hope that the advertised Q & A might afford hoi polloi like me the chance to ask him a real question.

FBI Defends Impersonating AP Reporter in Cyberattack Arrest

FBI Director James Comey admitted this week that an agent impersonated an Associated Press employee during a 2007 criminal investigation, though he defended the agency's deceptive practices.

Comey wrote in a letter to The New York Times published online Thursday that an FBI agent "portrayed himself as an employee of The Associated Press."

The agent asked an unnamed person suspected of making bomb threats on a high school near Olympia, Wash., to review a bogus AP draft news article about the threats. The agent believed the suspect was a "narcissist," according to the letter.

After clicking the story, court-authorized tracking software was installed on the person's computer, leading to the arrest of a 15-year-old student.

"No actual story was published, and no one except the suspect interacted with the undercover 'A.P.' employee or saw the fake draft story. Only the suspect was fooled," Comey wrote.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Again, the FBI demonstrates that it believes it can lie to the American people with impunity to achieve whatever outcome they want to have happen.

I would like to politely remind FBI Director Comey that there is no law in the Constitution or Bill of Rights that gives the FBI that capability.

Eric Holder On Fast And Furious Critics: 'Kiss My Ass'

Newly released emails show Attorney General Eric Holder said that Justice Department prosecutors who were critical of the department's handling of the fallout of the Fast and Furious gun-walking scandal could "kiss my ass."

Operation Fast and Furious was a botched effort by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to track firearms across the Southwest border. Revelations about it created a political firestorm, leading to congressional investigations and turnover within the ATF and Justice Department.

The Justice Department selectively provided a batch of emails this week to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The Associated Press obtained the emails on Friday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This statement validates one supremely frustrating aspect of this entire administration; that it believes itself to be above the law, and that laws are only for the "little people", not for government executives.

FLASHBACK 2001 - GM corn set to stop man spreading his seed

Scientists have created the ultimate GM crop: contraceptive corn. Waiving fields of maize may one day save the world from overpopulation.

The pregnancy prevention plants are the handiwork of the San Diego biotechnology company Epicyte, where researchers have discovered a rare class of human antibodies that attack sperm.

By isolating the genes that regulate the manufacture of these antibodies, and by putting them in corn plants, the company has created tiny horticultural factories that make contraceptives.

'We have a hothouse filled with corn plants that make anti-sperm antibodies,' said Epicyte president Mitch Hein.

Armored Vehicles and Military Choppers Spotted Near Ferguson Prior to Grand Jury Decision

Is Ferguson on the verge of civil unrest followed by martial law? Recent photos and videos from the area paint an ominous picture.

Ferguson, MO — The Grand Jury decision is expected any minute now out of Ferguson in regards to officer Darren Wilson and the killing of Micheal Brown.

It is highly likely that Wilson will not be indicted which could lead to massive unrest in the area.

Looting and violent rioting will only serve to undo the positive attention which Ferguson protesters have received over the past few months. That being said, there will undoubtedly be some people who use this Grand Jury decision as a means to violate the rights of others, both police and citizens.

However, as we have seen before, even when the protest is not-violent, the police frequently are.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF violence comes to Ferguson, you can almost bet real money that at least some of it will have been manipulated from the outside.

The US government would like nothing better than to squelch a relatively small protest with extreme measures, to show the American people that they can, and will, use excessive force whenever possible, to trample the rights of even peaceful protesters.

To the people of Ferguson, I would counsel patience, complete non-violence in your protests, and the ubiquitous presence of cameras to record EVERYTHING that happened.

Unfortunately, in the USA in the 21st century, the real terrorists ARE members of this government, for whom the Constitution and Bill of Rights have absolutely no meaning, when it comes to We the People.

Please remember: that obnoxious kid advocating the use of anything illegal, or any violence whatsoever, is probably DHS, CIA, NSA, or FBI, attempting to make you do something you know in your heart isn't right.

FLASHBACK 2012 - CNBC Exec’s Children Murdered, 1 Day After CNBC Reports $43 Trillion Bankster Lawsuit

Supreme Court Grants Cert. to Hear Challenge to IRS's Expansion of Affordable Care Act Tax Credit

Friday the Supreme Court granted certiorari in King v. Burwell, one of four pending challenges to the IRS rule authorizing tax credits and cost-sharing subsidies for the purchase of health insurance in federally established exchanges. ...

With this grant, the Court has the opportunity to reaffirm the principle that the law is what Congress enacts, not what the administration or others wish Congress had enacted with the benefit of hindsight. Granting tax credits to those who need help purchasing health insurance may be a good idea, and may have bipartisan support, but the IRS lacks the authority to authorize such tax credits where Congress failed to do so. The PPACA only authorizes tax credits for the purchase of insurance on exchanges “established by the State.”

We have already lost control of the money to the private bankers. What happens when we lose control of the law to them as well?

Can't We All Just Trust Our Governments?

The key takeaway here is this: "Money only has value because we trust it, and this trust is backstopped by our trust in the government of issue."

But what if government itself, via regulatory democracy, is actually intent on misleading investors? In fact, the above sounds reasonable so long as one does not grasp the central issue being avoided – the ability of certain individuals to print what we call "monopoly fiat money."

This book and its review seem to provide us with an apologia for elite – technocratic – management to retain and expand "trust." There is apparently an endless supply of authors ready to attempt the trick of insisting on the necessity of technocracy at the expense of the Invisible Hand.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The money and political interests are now well aware that in the age of the internet, their lies, frauds, and deceptions stand exposed. While those money and political interests are quick to blame and attack the independent media, the fact is it is their own actions which have undermined public trust in those institutions, but since changing their behavior is not something they are willing to do, we can expect a campaign of propaganda to convince us that it is somehow our patriotic duty to trust the bankers and politicians no matter how many times we catch them in said lies, frauds, and deception.

JP Morgan Chase Whistleblower Reveals Bank and Fed Cover-Up of Fraud

Fleischmann was terminated from the company in the midst of a round of lay-offs in 2008. An investigator from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission contacted her in 2012, regarding her knowledge of the events that occurred during her time at JP Morgan Chase. While the investigators were interested in certain parts of her story, it was not until 2013 that she was able to relay her full knowledge. This included “the edict against e-mails, the sabotaging of the diligence process, the bullying, the written warnings that were ignored, all of it.”

However, rather than taking JP Morgan Chase to court, Rolling Stone noted that the government “decided to help Chase bury the evidence,” which began when a press conference to announce the civil-fraud charges against the bank, scheduled by Attorney General Eric Holder for September 24, 2013, was “suddenly canceled, and no complaint was filed.”

The $9 Billion Witness: Meet JPMorgan Chase's Worst Nightmare

Fleischmann is the central witness in one of the biggest cases of white-collar crime in American history, possessing secrets that JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon late last year paid $9 billion (not $13 billion as regularly reported – more on that later) to keep the public from hearing.

Back in 2006, as a deal manager at the gigantic bank, Fleischmann first witnessed, then tried to stop, what she describes as "massive criminal securities fraud" in the bank's mortgage operations.

Six years after the crisis that cratered the global economy, it's not exactly news that the country's biggest banks stole on a grand scale. That's why the more important part of Fleischmann's story is in the pains Chase and the Justice Department took to silence her.

SEAL Team Six Afghan Deaths Still a Mystery

Almost two years later, the families of special forces soldiers sent to die in what was virtually a suicide mission are still searching for answers – and the United States government is still covering up. Once again, the mainstream media is AWOL. So, why are the SEAL Team six Afghan deaths still a mystery?

On June 1st, the Las Vegas Guardian Express published a report on the deaths of 22 members of the elite Tier-one counter-terrorism unit more commonly known as SEAL Team six, when their helicopter was shot down in Afghanistan in August of 2011. Although the official line is that none of those killed in the Afghan crash took part in the team’s May 2011 raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound in Pakistan, one source said that at least a couple of them were involved in both missions, according to a report in The Hill. Regardless, it seems that SEAL Team six’s problems stem from that very mission.

The USA PATRIOT Act -- the so-called "Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001," a.k.a. the USAPA -- was enacted in the immediate wake of 9/11, riding a wave of fear that spread over the nation. This Act has caused much concern amongst civil rights advocates. The Administration, however, responded to such concerns by calling critics unpatriotic. Now, the White House has had a similar response to critics of Bush's recent admission of early warnings.

Feds Retaliate against the Bundy Ranch and the Southern Nevada People

On Friday October 10th, 2014 a Notice from the federal registry reveals that the federal government is mounting retaliations against the Bundy family and the Southern Nevada people.

Federal Register / Vol. 79, No.197 Notice, outlines plans to make the Bundy ranch and most of the rest of Southern Nevada, Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACECs). 90 days from October 10th, 2014 these proposals will become federal law without consent from the Nevada State legislatures or the people of Southern Nevada.

Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACECs) are human restricted management areas. ACECs have been a tool used by the federal government to gain further control of large masses of western lands and the resources.

As proposed, nearly 3 million acres in Southern Nevada will be locked away from the people. This includes most uses on the land (recreational, agricultural or otherwise).

Listed below are just a few of the outlined restriction that come with ACECs:

Demand that the United States Congress hold hearings on the Sandy Hook School Shooting Massacre

This FEMA Capstone event has created Panic and Fear across this country. It has Inflicted Emotional Distress on millions and millions of Americans who where brainwashed by the 24/7 National Television News cycle.

Parents of the supposed children filed complaints to the CT Attorney General George Jespen demanding more money from the $29 million dollars raised by the United Way Western Ct for the death of their child at Sandy Hook.

Yet they have yet to file a lawsuit against the Newtown School Board, the Newtown Police Department, the CT State Police and the Medical Emergency providers that did not go inside the Sandy Hook Elementary School the entire day to save those children and school staff from serious injurioes and those clinging to life.

Nowhere in the Constitution does it saw We The People have to let the government make up our minds for us about anything.

Texas energy group asks court to halt fracking ban

A North Texas city that sits atop a natural gas reserve is preparing for an extended court battle after voters made it the first in the state to ban further hydraulic fracturing — a fight that cities nationwide considering similar laws will likely be watching closely.

An industry group and the state's little-known but powerful General Land Office responded quickly to the measure Denton approved Tuesday night, seeking an injunction in District Court to stop it from being enforced.

Vote all you want. The secret government won’t change.

Though it’s a bedrock American principle that citizens can steer their own government by electing new officials, Glennon suggests that in practice, much of our government no longer works that way. In a new book, “National Security and Double Government,” he catalogs the ways that the defense and national security apparatus is effectively self-governing, with virtually no accountability, transparency, or checks and balances of any kind. He uses the term “double government”: There’s the one we elect, and then there’s the one behind it, steering huge swaths of policy almost unchecked. Elected officials end up serving as mere cover for the real decisions made by the bureaucracy.

he cause of the shooting-down of the Malaysian passenger plane MH-17 on July 17th (while that plane was flying over the conflict-zone during Ukraine’s civil war) is becoming clearer and clearer, despite the rigorous continuing attempts by Western ‘news’ media to cover it up and to hide from the public the evidence that clearly shows what brought down this airliner.

One of the things I noticed about being in India when I was there, not all that long ago, was that life was cheap. I was in one of the poorest parts of India, although there are other locations that are even more extreme. There were a lot of things I was not prepared for, given that everything I knew about India was based on things I had heard or read. The reality of it was a great deal more overwhelming.

IRS officials admit never trying to retrieve Lois Lerner's 'missing' emails

Now that Republican lawmakers will control both houses of the U.S. Congress beginning in Jan. 1, 2015, many conservatives and libertarians want them to pursue the truth regarding corruption, abuse and criminal acts within the decidedly partisan Internal Revenue Service. A top nonprofit, nonpartisan Washington, D.C., watchdog reported on Wednesday that officials from the scandal-ridden Internal Revenue Service (IRS) after saying they would do all they could to retrieve the requested documents, especially the IRS's controversial employee Lois Lerner's emails, admitted that they did absolutely nothing to try to find the mysterious "missing emails."

4 Impressively Insane Reactions to Bad Online Reviews

Obviously, if a reviewer makes up a story about human fingers in food because she didn't approve of the waitress' hairstyle, the restaurant has a right to take action. That's what defamation laws are for. But some recent threats against reviewers have moved way beyond "dealing with crazy liars" and well into "fuck anyone who doesn't like us" territory. One example is so-called "non-disparagement" clauses. You know those long "terms of sale" agreements on websites that no one actually reads because there's a whole goddamn Internet out there to look at instead? You can just shove a sentence or two in there about how the customer is not allowed to complain online, and boom! You're bad-review proof!

Government Lied About Pandemic Which Killed 50 Million People … Attempt to “Prevent Panic” Backfired

In the United States, national and local government and public health authorities badly mishandled the [1918 "Spanish Flu"] epidemic [which killed up to 50 million people worldwide], offering a useful case study.

The context is important. Every country engaged in World War I tried to control public perception. To avoid hurting morale, even in the nonlethal first wave the press in countries fighting in the war did not mention the outbreak. (But Spain was not at war and its press wrote about it, so the pandemic became known as the Spanish flu).

The United States was no different. In 1917 California Senator Hiram Johnson made the since-famous observation that “The first casualty when war comes is truth.” The U.S. government passed a law that made it punishable by 20 years in jail to “utter, print, write or publish any disloyal, profane, scurrilous, or abusive language about the government of the United States.”

Police crash Halloween party to ensure no dancing without a permit

A Halloween-themed private event was targeted by police when there was a suspicion of dancing without a permit.

It happened at the 2014 “Monster Mash” dance party, the third annual event of its kind. It was put on by the event promotion company, Heart of Dixie, and held at the Fiesta Fun Center in St. George, Utah (population 75,000).

Over 400 guests were enjoying the festivities at the October 31st event, participating in all-night enjoyment of bumper boats, go-karts, mini golf, and music.

After 9:30 p.m., St. George police arrived in force to investigate a case of unpermitted dancing. Around 5-6 officers challenged the organizers of the event as not having obtained a proper permit to host the dancing. The venue owner, event promoter, and security coordinator each presented their respective permits, which had been previously approved and issued by the city.

Obama’s Mental Health Mandate

Using the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre as its justification, the Obama administration has recently given the psychiatric business and pharmaceutical industry a major gift by quietly introducing a behavioral and mental health program in public schools throughout the United States.

Introducing psychiatric explanations and methodologies into school environments guarantees a growing customer base for the psychiatric profession and pharmaceutical industry. Alongside government’s increasing control of healthcare, the technocratic surveillance and management of everyday thought and behavior is likewise emerging as part of what is deceptively termed “wellness.” In reality such efforts ensure an ever-expanding bureaucracy, handsomely line the pockets of a select few, and further normalize a culture of learned helplessness and control within an environment that already privileges conformity as a matter of routine.

Free College or Another New War?

Noting that U.S. college costs have gone up 500% since 1985, the Washington Post recommends seven countries where U.S. students can go to college for free without bothering to learn the language of the natives or anything so primitive.

These are nations with less wealth than the United States has, but which make college free or nearly free, both for citizens and for dangerous illegals visiting their Homelands.

How do they do it?

Three of them have a higher top tax rate than the United States has, but four of them don’t.

What does the United States spend its money on that these other countries do not? What is the largest public program in the United States? What makes up over 50% of federal discretionary spending in the United States?

If you said “war,” it’s possible you were educated in a fine foreign country.

Drug Makers Push for Indemnity for Fast-Tracked Ebola Vaccines

For starters, vaccine manufacturers are demanding indemnity against lawsuits that may arise from the use of a fast-tracked Ebola vaccine,2 similar to the indemnity claimed by the United Nations (UN), whose peacekeepers stand accused of causing the cholera outbreak in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake that devastated the small country.

An estimated 700,000 Haitians have contracted cholera and 8,500 have died from it since the beginning of the outbreak. While the source of the outbreak could not be conclusively determined, a group of Haitians filed a lawsuit against the UN in 2013.

A lawyer for the US Justice Department recently called for the case to be dismissed, saying the UN is "absolutely immune" to claims of wrongdoing.3 This is the kind of "immunity" vaccine makers want as well, but indemnity might not be quite as easy to get as initially thought in this case.

No matter who wins, today's election outcome can't stop America's head-on course toward self-destruction

Regardless of the outcome of today's U.S. mid-term elections, there are some things that won't change one iota. While most of America has finally come to realize what a disaster Obama's presidency has really been in real-world terms, there are at least five other disasters looming in America's near future. And neither Republicans nor Democrats have any real plan to deal with these issues... especially when it's so much easier to get elected by slandering your opponent rather than proposing practical solutions.

So here's my warning on the five biggest threats still facing America in the years ahead. Don't hold your breath thinking anyone in Washington D.C. is willing to address any of these. After all, they are the ones who created most of these problems in the first place.

Rulers Seek to Rule

Rulers seek to rule. Well, that seems a bit obvious, doesn’t it? And yet, time after time, we elect new leaders, imagining that, “This new group will be better—they’ll represent us as they promised.”

Unfortunately, the democratic system doesn’t really work very well at all. The idea is supposed to be that if old leaders overstep their bounds, new candidates may come forth who promise a reversal of the autocracy of the previous group, and we elect them. They will then proceed to implement that reversal.

Of course, we all know that it’s this last bit that consistently fails to happen. The new group does not fulfil its promises to the electorate—in fact, it almost invariably seeks to increase its power over them. And as each group assumes greater power than the previous one, the country slowly declines, until ultimately, it reaches the state of tyranny.

He said he had ticket to attend the event but was not allowed to get inside.

Richard Marini, an activist with World Can’t Wait, said he saw McGovern as he was being apprehended.

He said McGovern had his arms twisted tightly behind his back and was obviously in pain while he was being dragged to the police car.

Other witnesses said he was screaming in protest of how police officers were hurting his shoulder.

Obama's Soak the Rich 60% Tax Hike on Investment Income Is Drowning the Middle Class

The curse of the U.S. economy today is the downward trend in “take-home pay.” This is the most crucial economic indicator for most Americans. ... Most workers’ pay has not kept up with inflation for at least six years. ...

Why aren’t wages rising? There are several reasons, including that many jobs today don’t pay as well as the ones lost during the recession. ObamaCare has made health insurance more expensive for businesses—as the nation’s biggest employer, Wal-Mart , recently reported—and that takes a bite out of take-home pay. Yet one factor is often overlooked: the tax increase on “the rich” at the beginning of 2013.

In California, Consumer Watchdog's Prop 45 Challenges Obamacare — From the Left

Blue Shield of California, one of the state's four major health insurers, has a sales office on the 20th floor of the Pacific Corporate Towers in El Segundo. Had the employees peered down to the plaza on a recent Tuesday morning, they would have seen a small cluster of picketers.

From 300 feet up, it would be impossible to read the signs, or hear the chants, or smell the aroma drifting off the white pickup truck that was parked below in a loading zone. But on the ground, the scent is unmistakable: manure.

Jamie Court, the president of Consumer Watchdog, shovels some into a wheelbarrow and announces that he will be delivering it to Blue Shield's executives.

FBI Holds Secret Meeting To Scare Congress Into Backdooring Phone Encryption

In September, both Apple and Google announced plans to encrypt information on iOS and Android devices by default. Almost immediately, there was a collective freakout by law enforcement types. But, try as they might, these law enforcement folks couldn't paint any realistic scenario of where this would be a serious problem. Sure, they conjured up scenarios, but upon inspection they pretty much all fell apart. Instead, what was clear was that encryption could protectusers from people copying information off of phones without permission, and, in fact, the FBI itself recommends you encrypt the data on your phone.

But it didn't stop FBI director James Comey from ignoring the advice of his own agency and pushing for a new law that would create back doors (he called them front doors, but when asked to explain the difference, he admitted that he wasn't "smart enough" to understand the distinction) in such encryption.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Breakable encryption means the FBI can spy on law abiding citizens, but as we proved with our NSA challenges, real criminals and terrorists will remain invisible.

BILL CLINTON: Republicans Are Trying To 'Cash In On The Misery Of The American People'

Former President Bill Clinton claimed on Thursday that one of the main reasons Republicans are expected to perform so strongly in the upcoming midterm elections is their willingness to capitalize on the lingering effects of the 2008 economic recession.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"And you Americans are all WRONG to decide who to vote for because of irrelevant things like whether you have a job or not, lost your home, are going hungry, had your kid killed in a war on the other side of the planet. Really, you need to decide who to vote for based on who has the best TV ads (like my wife) and who is the snappiest dresser (like my wife) and who has the best hair styles (like my wife). What is WRONG with you people?" -- Monica's rival's husband.

It should be remembered that when Bill Clinton took office, there was a huge cash surplus built up on the Social Security trust fund in anticipation of the baby-boomer retirements. Clinton created his magical budget surplus by "borrowing" that extra cash and spending it as general revenue, replacing it with special Treasury Bonds which the government is now unable to redeem, adding to the misery of retirees who are being told their benefits must be cut.

The US Economy Runs Into A Problem If Oil Hits $75

US shale oil is now the marginal swing barrel in the new world oil order, and as Goldman Sachs warns (despite Larry Kudlow apparently knowing better), a decline in WTI to $75/bbl would start to significantly slow US shale growth (and thus employment, capex, and the entire US economy).

Webmaster's Commentary:

Obama was intent on harming Russia's oil exports and made a deal with Saudi Arabia to increase production to crush oil prices. But, as has become the hallmark of decision-making by the White House, nobody thought this all the way through as to what harm it might bring to the US. And Saudi Arabia is laughing that US attempts at oil independence are being crushed under the anti-Russian agenda and US dependence on Saudi Arabia will increase!

BEX ALERT - Blame the fall in homeownership on Generation X: Why did the homeownership rate fall so dramatically for those 35 to 44?

We’ve all heard about the broke Millennials living at home with mom and dad unable to move out into a very expensive rental. For years, we’ve been told that somehow this young group of people would represent some pent up demand to buy homes. This demand never materialized. Instead, you have tight inventory in certain markets being fought over by investors and those willing to pay current prices while stretching their budgets. Yet volume remains incredibly pathetic. The homeownership rate has fallen dramatically and some point the blame to the Millennials. But as it turns out, the big drop has come from those 35 to 44. Generation X overall has been a massive drag on the housing market. The young are simply not buying homes like they once did and many are opting into the rental market. So how big of a drag is Generation X on the housing market?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Another puff piece trying to find a scapegoat for the economic woes while avoiding a mention of the root cause of all of the problems, which are those private central banks issuing all of the public currency as a loan at interest, a system which by design produces more debt than money with which to pay that debt. But we dare not talk about that reality! So let's drop the blame on the kiddies!

Cover-Up Alleged in Probe of USS Liberty

A former Navy attorney who helped lead the military investigation of the 1967 Israeli attack on the USS Liberty that killed 34 American servicemen says former President Lyndon Johnson and his defense secretary, Robert McNamara, ordered that the inquiry conclude the incident was an accident.

In a signed affidavit released at a Capitol Hill news conference, retired Capt. Ward Boston said Johnson and McNamara told those heading the Navy's inquiry to "conclude that the attack was a case of 'mistaken identity' despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary."

It was “one of the classic all-American cover-ups,” said retired Admiral Thomas Moorer, a former Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman who spent a year investigating the attack as part of an independent panel he formed with other former military officials. The panel also included a former US ambassador to Saudi Arabia, James Akins.

9/11 Was NATO’s License to Expand Globally

The 9/11 attacks on the United States undoubtedly benefited a number of actors, including the American military-intelligence complex, Israel, and most definitely, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). The Cold War-era, the area of responsibility for which had long been confined to Europe and North America, used the provisions of Article 5 of the NATO Charter – which states that an attack on one member is an attack on all – to extend NATO’s power deep into Eurasia, particularly in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

After engaging in out-of-area invasions and occupations of Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Libya, and Syria and, again in Iraq, against the «Islamic State,» the «North Atlantic» military bloc has transformed itself from a Cold War defensive alliance into a global offensive axis of nations that acts with or without United Nations authorization.

Each of us must manage individually or in groups within the sad and irrevocable decay of the world we knew. It's decline accelerates with every passing day. As that progresses, conditions worsen. It will come to pass that many will find it no longer possible to live where they are, while at the same time, having waited too long, are no longer able to move away. Things can occur at a previously unimagined speed, while taking all kinds of frightening and unexpected turns. It stands to reason that the further away one is from the epicenters, the better ones chances are.

Growing unease among parents, lawmakers over RFID biometric tracking of students

The relatively new tracking technology allows schools to more accurately follow student attendance, lunch purchases and students who ride buses, but lawmakers in many states have banned specific types of student data collection over privacy concerns, Governing.com reports.

"This year, Florida became the first state to ban the use of biometric identification in its schools. Kansas said biometric data cannot be collected without student or parental consent. New Hampshire, Colorado and North Carolina said the state education departments cannot collect and store biometric data as part of student records.

Surveillance of social movement groups increases under Harper government

The Council of Canadians is concerned by the increasing pattern of surveillance under the Harper government of social movement groups, including our own organization.

In June, we denounced the Harper government's order to federal departments to monitor all political demonstrations across the country. The Government Operations Centre is "compiling a list of all known demonstrations" that has included protests against fracking, a healing dance, a prayer ceremony and a fundraiser. More on this at Government Operations Centre to monitor all protests.

Anti-quarantine nurse Hickox was trained as intelligence officer by the CDC

Nurse Kaci Hickox, who has made headlines over the last few days by refusing to quarantine herself after returning from the Ebola front lines in Africa, turns out to have been trained as an "intelligence officer" under a two-year CDC program modeled after the U.S. military.

As you can see from the document below, Hickox graduated from a two-year CDC intelligence officer training program in 2012. This is the same nurse whose LinkedIn page was recently scrubbed to hide her ties to the CDC, an agency that stands to benefit tremendously in both political power and budgets if an Ebola outbreak sweeps across America.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is not the first time serious questions have been raised about CDC's "Intelligence Officers", who operate primarily as information warfare specialists, including attacks on those who question the safety and efficacy of vaccines!

The Movie That Completely Exposes the Myth of the 'Free Press'

There is more truth about American journalism in the film “Kill the Messenger,” which chronicles the mainstream media’s discrediting of the work of the investigative journalist Gary Webb, than there is in the movie “All the President’s Men,” which celebrates the exploits of the reporters who uncovered the Watergate scandal.

Presstitutes and whorespondents all!

20-Year CBS News Veteran, Sharyl Attkisson, Details Massive Censorship and Propaganda in Mainstream Media

Reporters on the ground aren’t necessarily ideological, Attkisson says, but the major network news decisions get made by a handful of New York execs who read the same papers and think the same thoughts.

Often they dream up stories beforehand and turn the reporters into “casting agents,” told “we need to find someone who will say . . .” that a given policy is good or bad. “We’re asked to create a reality that fits their New York image of what they believe,” she writes.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Our job is to give people not what they want, but what we decide they ought to have." -- Richard Salent, Former President CBS News.

"News is what someone wants to suppress. Everything else is advertising". -- former NBC news President Rubin Frank

Asked to give a toast before the prestigious New York Press Club in 1880, John Swinton, the former Chief of Staff at the New York Sun, made this candid confession [it's worth noting that Swinton was called "The Dean of His Profession" by other newsmen, who admired him greatly]:

" There is no such thing, at this date of the world's history, as an independent press. You know it and I know it. There is not one of you who dares to write your honest opinions, and if you did, you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid weekly for keeping my honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for similar things, and any of you who would be so foolish as to write honest opinions would be out on the streets looking for another job.

If I allowed my honest opinions to appear in one issue of my paper, before twenty-four hours my occupation would be gone. The business of the journalist is to destroy the truth; to lie outright; to pervert; to vilify; to fawn at the feet of Mammon, and to sell the country for his daily bread. You know it and I know it and what folly is this toasting an independent press. We are the tools and vassals of the rich men behind the scenes. We are the jumping jacks, they pull the strings and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities and our lives are all the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes. "
