Anti-Gun Media Panicking Over SCOTUS Decisions

Anti-Second Amendment activists were pretty happy last November. They gained the House, an effective majority in the Senate, and the new president ran on gun control. It looked as if everything were looking up for them. -- Then they ran smack into the face of reality.

Is Biden Weaponizing the IRS Against Gun Owners?

The Biden administration’s plan to fund a multitrillion-dollar spending plan includes having the IRS snoop into every American’s bank account to examine transactions that are $600 or greater. This alarming proposal has implications far beyond the government looking to extract tax money. It is also a potential way for the Biden administration to track who is purchasing firearms.

NJ Governor’s Contempt For Gun Owners On Display In Debate

It should be common knowledge that the Garden State has some of the most draconian and corrupt laws in the Union. All that really “needs” to be said would be a quote from Phil Murphy from one of his past press events:

“THE BILL OF RIGHTS IS ABOVE MY PAY GRADE” -- That’s who’s seated in the Governor’s mansion now; someone that believes our fundamental rights are above his pay grade.

Twice as Many Killed with Knives than Rifles & Shotguns Combined, FBI Report Shows

Despite the data, America's left-wing media continues to try and frame law-abiding gun-owners as criminals. -- However, in the midst of coverage, ABC News admitted they “dug” down and discovered “violence occurs disproportionately in poorer, urban areas — from Los Angeles to Chicago to New York City.” -- In other words, Democrat-run cities.

New California Law Shows Why Gun Registration Must Be Opposed

The bad news about California’s AB 173 keeps coming. First the was the introduction of the bill itself, which allows for the release of all kinds of information about gun owners, including their personal identities, to academics investigating “gun violence.” Then the bill passed out of the legislature and landed on Gavin Newsom’s desk. Shortly thereafter, Newsom put pen to paper and signed the bill into law, and since it’s a budget bill, it takes effect immediately.

BREAKING: Smith & Wesson Leaving Massachusetts ‘Due To Changing Business Climate For Firearms Manufacturing’

Congratulations to Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker and the Bay State’s legislature. They’ve finally succeeded in driving 750 additional jobs out of their state. Today, Smith & Wesson announced they will move their corporate headquarters to Tennessee. Why? As S&W put it, they’re clearing out “Due to changing business climate for firearms manufacturing in Massachusetts.”

Massachusetts has reveled in making life difficult for gun makers and owners for generations now. The Bay State’s legislators keep adding rules and regulations upon the law-abiding. Of course, criminals ignore these with impunity.

As for carrying a gun in Massachusetts? Like my crime-free home state of Illinois (cough), Massachusetts recognizes no other state’s carry licenses. In fact, Massachusetts isn’t even a “shall issue” state. For now, at least.

DELUSIONAL : Chipman Says the Gun Lobby Tried to Kill Him Over His ATF Nomination

The Chipman saga reminds me of when I was a young boy on my uncle’s farm and accidentally touched an electric fence. I got zapped and learned never to do that again. By nominating Chipman, the Biden-Harris administration touched the fence and got zapped hard. Unfortunately, I doubt they learned a lesson. If they continue to target gun owners, they’re destined to get zapped again and again.

Still Bitching : Chipman Blames White House For His Failure To Launch

I have no idea if Chipman actually believes his own spin, but it doesn’t really matter. The important thing is that instead of taking a victory lap, Chipman’s slinking back to the gun control group that he’s called home for the past several years. I’m sure he’ll be a presence as a talking head on CNN and MSNBC going forward, but thankfully he won’t be in a position to turn the ATF into a government-funded wing of the gun control lobby.

Activists Hope To Make Florida A Constitutional Carry State

Florida has a Republican governor and GOP control of the state legislature, which has left some gun rights activists wondering why the state hasn’t yet adopted a Constitutional Carry law that would recognize the right of legal gun owners to both keep and bear arms without a government permission slip. Florida really kickstarted the Right to Carry revolution back in the 1980s when it became a “shall issue” state, and over the next couple of decades dozens of other states followed suit. There are now more than 2-million concealed handgun licenses issued by the state, but efforts to implement campus carry and permitless carry have stalled out in the legislature over the past few years.

CNN Pushes Chinese Communist Party Line on Guns

CNN’s anti-gun bias, including a willingness to fake stories to push gun control, has been apparent for decades. The self-styled “most trusted name in news” further diminished what’s left of its tarnished reputation this week when it parroted the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) line on Second Amendment rights. -- In a piece titled, “China and the US were both born from armed conflict. They’re now polar opposites on gun control,” a pair of CNN writers favorably contrasted the totalitarian Chinese government’s gun control regime with U.S. freedom.

Biden Administration Asks the U.S. Supreme Court to Judicially Nullify the Right to Bear Arms

On September 21, the Biden Administration filed an amicus brief in the pending U.S. Supreme Court case of New York Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, supporting New York’s draconian and unconstitutional restrictions on the right to bear firearms in public for self-defense.

This NRA-supported challenge to New York’s “may-issue” licensing scheme for public handgun carry is the first Second Amendment challenge to a firearm law to reach the high court since 2010.

New York’s law presumptively denies the right to bear arms for self-defense unless a license applicant can demonstrate a special need for self-protection that distinguishes the person from the general population.

Do Government Policies Disarming The Citizenry Rise To The Level Of Treason?

As we stated in our first article posted on AmmoLand News, “Does the Biden Administration’s Assault on the Second Amendment Amount to ‘Treason,’” one must be circumspect in the application of a Treason hypothesis. For, if we are careless in our understanding of the import of it, we risk diluting its significance, mistakenly attaching the duo labels of ‘Treason’ and ‘Traitor’ to those who never warranted it but happened nonetheless to be branded with it and then crucified for it.

And we know whereof we speak: Recall the branding of “Traitor” to our 45th President, Donald Trump, and recall the crucifying of him and those closest to him: Those individuals who assisted him in his run for U.S. Presidency; Cabinet-level Officers; close friends and associates; even members of his own immediate family. All of them have been incessantly, rapaciously, relentlessly, viciously attacked and hounded because of service to, or mere association with, the purported traitor, Donald Trump.

Biden Asks Supreme Court for Permission to Destroy Gun Rights

New York’s law presumptively denies the right to bear arms for self-defense unless a license-applicant can demonstrate a special need for self-protection that distinguishes the person from the general population. -- In practice, this means the rich and well-connected can get unrestricted carry licenses but ordinary people cannot, even if they actually face a greater risk of being violently victimized while going about their daily lives in public. The law effectively nullifies for most New Yorkers what the Supreme Court has already characterized as “the individual right to possess and carry weapons in case of confrontation.”

Texas Open Carry

There is a semi-famous (notorious?) restaurant in Rifle, Colorado where the waitresses carry guns, and patrons are encouraged to wear their guns when they come to eat. Lauren Boebert, owner of the SHOOTER’S GRILL, has gained national attention for her decision to encourage her staff to carry a firearm during work. The Denver Post has written an article entitled “Armed and ready to feed you”. Naturally, visiting this restaurant has been on my “bucket list” for quite some time. For those who suspect me of exaggerating, you can watch one of dozens of YouTube videos that prove I’m not making this up.

The Left Cheered When Australians Gave Up Their Guns. Now They’re Being Shot By Their Own Government in the Streets.

Harrowing footage from Australia reveals police enforcing lockdown laws with all the fervor of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. The images we watched out of China – at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic – are now being replicated on the streets of Western nations.

After 35 people were killed in the Port Arthur Massacre in 1996, the Australian government moved swiftly to ban pump-action shotguns and semi-automatic rifles. While – as Matt Palumbo notes – the number of guns in the country actually failed to decline all that much in the proceeding years, the types of guns available to the public along with the groups of people owning them prove the importance of America’s Second Amendment.

Per the University of Sydney, “the proportion of Australians who hold a gun licence has fallen by 48 percent since 1997,” and “the proportion of Australian households with a firearm has fallen by 75 percent in recent decades.”

‘Nearly One-Third of Gun Owners Have Used Gun in Self-Defense,’ Says Report

A whopping 31.1 percent of gun owners—estimated to be about 25.3 million American adults—have used a gun in self-defense, according to the 2021 National Firearms Survey, by Prof. William English, PhD., at Georgetown University.

The survey was designed by Deborah Azrael of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and Matthew Miller of Northeastern University, according to the Wall Street Journal. English released a draft in June and the WSJ just reported on its contents.

How Do You Get Rid Of Bad Ammunition?

All firearms enthusiasts eventually come across bullets that just won't fire or corroded ammunition they don't want to risk shooting. We doubt you want to start stockpiling bad ammo, so how can you get rid of it?

The internet is flush with recommendations on what to do with bad ammunition, but not all of that advice is environmentally friendly, or legal. Below are five methods we recommend to make sure you part ways with ammunition properly.

Sep 21 09:44

Data Study: 18 Months of Ammo Sales during a Pandemic, Protests, and the Biden Presidency

In our previous data study on the initial effects of the pandenmic on our business, we outlined increased sales due to the public’s growing leeriness of COVID-19, starting from February 23, 2020 when the news coverage became ominous.

That's only part of the story, however, because over the last 18 months, we've experienced a particularly charged election year, BLM protests amid calls to "defund the police," a contentious transfer of power, and most recently a surprise ban on popular Russian ammo.

These events in particular, set against the backdrop of the ongoing response to the pandemic, resulted in demand spikes. Looking at the data below, you'll get a sense of a high level trend during the pandemic and then see how that trend changed during certain specific time periods, like the BLM protests, when already-elevated demand went up even more.

Sep 19 05:20

The Rise And Fall Of 9MM Ammo Prices During COVID; What's Next?

The price rise could be attributed to the BLM protests, counter and subsequent riots that followed, which were viewed widely across the internet and traditional media. There were depictions of innocent people getting hurt or worse, swarmed by protestors, with no police anywhere to help.

This led to a panic buy on top of a panic buy. Whereas previously, shelves had been scarce, they became empty. People started to hoard ammunition like they had been hoarding toilet paper. Since manufacturing companies were set up to meet the average demand of the "Trump Slump" of the previous years, where gun and ammo sales had been low, there started to be bottlenecks in ammunition production. Ammo manufacturers were not prepared for the sharp increase in buying.

San Diego City Council Bans Ghost Guns

San Diego City Council passed an ordinance on Tuesday that bans the sale and possession of “ghost guns” in an attempt to combat the rising gun crime in San Diego.

Ghost guns are privately made firearms that lack serial numbers, making them hard to be traced by law enforcement agencies. Under federal law, it is legal for private individuals to make their own firearms, but a license is required for the manufacture of firearms that are for sale or distribution.

The Eliminate Non-Serialized Untraceable Firearm (ENUF) ordinance was introduced by Councilwoman Marni von Wilpert after a deadly shooting in April in downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter in which a ghost gun was used. San Diego Police Chief David Nisleit told FOX 5 reporters after the shooting that there has been a 169 percent increase in ghost guns from 2020.

The first reading of the ENUF ordinance passed 8-1 in August. At the city council meeting on Tuesday, citizens voiced their opinions regarding the ordinance.

Does The Biden Administration’s Assault On The Second Amendment Amount To Treason?

Under Biden’s reign, Americans are quickly losing their fundamental rights and liberties. -- They have already lost any vestige of a fundamental right of privacy as protected under the Unreasonable Searches and Seizures clause of the Fourth Amendment. And the Right of free speech under the First Amendment is, as well, under tremendous assault today.

They’re not the majority. There aren’t that many of them, even. They exist, though, and if given half a chance, they’ll take whatever opportunities they can find to seize power.

WaPo Editors Ignore Realities Of Chipman’s Defeat

If there was any doubt that the demise of David Chipman’s nomination as permanent director of the ATF has gun control activists in a rage, look no further than the editorial pages of the Washington Post, where the editors uncorked a torrent of misinformation and vitriol aimed at those it believes responsible for Chipman’s defeat; the “the gun lobbyists who attacked the nominee, showing how morally off-kilter, yet enduringly powerful, the lobby remains.”

Sep 13 11:04

Chipman Defeat Isn’t the End

Just because Chipman’s not in the running for the ATF job doesn’t mean he’s done. Nor does it mean anyone should expect The White House to give up on its gun control agenda. It’s important to remember what the Biden administration has already put into motion, what they vowed to do, and what gun control is demanding. This is also the first year of the Biden administration. There are still more than three years before voters will have an opportunity to demand a president that respects gun rights.

The White House is planning to withdraw David Chipman's nomination to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, according to three sources close to the process.

Angus King (I-Maine) had previously told the Biden administration and Senate Democrats that he was not supportive of the nominee. Other moderate Democratic senators, including Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Jon Tester of Montana, have also remained noncommittal on the pick.

Texas Really Pissed Liberals Off With This 2nd Amendment Bill

Texans are no longer required to obtain a state license in order to carry a concealed firearm in public, causing an increase in the number of people who choose to skip the training process, gun experts report.

The bill that cut back the requirements, H.B. 1927, known as the constitutional carry law, took effect Wednesday. One Texas Republican touted it as doing away with an “artificial barrier” to citizens' constitutional right to bear arms.

Before Sept. 1, Texas residents who purchased a gun and wished to carry it in a concealed manner were required to obtain a state license, even though they were legally permitted to carry a gun openly in public without a license.

“Through Aug. 31, if you wanted to carry a handgun in Texas, you had to get a background check, you had to get training in safety and laws, and you had to determine some proficiency,” announced Gyl Switzer, executive director for Texas Gun Sense.

CDC to Spend Millions of Taxpayer Dollars on Gun ‘Health Threat’

President Biden’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is gearing up to spend millions of taxpayer dollars fighting the “serious public health threat” posed by gun violence.

CDC director Dr. Rochelle Walensky referenced gun crime in various cities and said, “Something has to be done about this. Now is the time — it’s pedal to the metal time,” CNN reported.

“The scope of the problem is just bigger than we’re even hearing about, and when your heart wrenches every day you turn on the news, you’re only hearing the tip of the iceberg. We haven’t spent the time, energy and frankly the resources to understand this problem because it’s been so divided,” she added.

"Puzzle Pieces All Laid Out" - How ATF Has Plan To Classify Semi-Automatic Rifles As "Machine Guns"

What is Going on With Gun Control Right Now in 2021?

Just a general warning. The statements presented may start to sound like a conspiracy theory, but I promise you, dear reader, it is not.

There's been much talk at the range recently about the new proposed gun control by the Biden Administration. Many people are perplexed. We get a ton of questions, emails, and phone calls asking, "Will this affect me?", "What can I do?", "Why are they doing this?" among others.

I want to answer these questions as best as I can. We've been in the firearms industry here at TMGN since 2013 and have had a shop & range since 2015, so we've seen tons of changes from different administrations. There is a clear agenda here, and I'm reasonably sure most gun owners are going to be a little unhappy with the information I'm about to deliver.

Democratic Bill Would Ban 3D Printing Firearm Schematics

Sen. Ed Markey’s (D-Mass.) little-known 3D Printed Gun Safety Act (S. 2319) would criminalize sharing firearm schematics for 3D printers online.

3D printing describes a process that allows people to “print” 3D models for various items. These models range from small tools, art projects, and shapes up to functional firearms. Critics of the practice have called these 3D-printed firearms “ghost guns” because they lack serial numbers and are difficult for law enforcement to trace.

Despite their relative novelty, 3D-printed firearms have a rich legal history.

In 2018, Congress passed the Export Control Reform Act (ECRA), a foreign policy bill designed to restrict enemies’ access to U.S.-made munitions.

The Second Amendment Is About Rifles Not Racism

Below are my thoughts on academic work claiming that the Second Amendment is a relic of slavery. The reframing of the debate follows a familiar pattern in academia. Indeed, the same type of sweeping (and unchallenged) generalities was used recently to declare Olympic surfing a relic of American imperialism. The framing of such claims often precede any search for the facts. However, academics know that there is an eager and unquestioning audience for such publications. Conversely, those academics challenging such claims risk isolation and shunning in today’s intolerant environment. What is most striking about this latest claim is that it is directly and comprehensively contradicted by historical sources. Yet, there are relatively few academics who have publicly challenged the claims as media heralds the theory as a type of breakthrough publication. As discussed earlier, the theory is neither new nor well-founded.

Rare Breed Triggers Fires Back At ATF, Says "Will Not Comply"

Lawrence DeMonico, president of Rare Breed Triggers (RBT), brought everyone up to speed in a new video statement regarding the lawsuit filed by RBT against the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), Department of Justice (DoJ), and Attorney General (AG). He addresses the ATF's attempted to redefine the term "machine gun" to apply it to RBT's FRT-15 semi-automatic trigger in contradiction to federal law (Gun Control Act and National Firearms Act).

On July 27, DeMonico said the ATF Tampa Field Division, accompanied by a government attorney, personally served him and his attorney with a cease and desist letter, informing him that his FRT-15 trigger had been classified as a "machine gun." The letter went on to say that RBT needs to halt all manufacturing and sales of the FRT-15 and discuss a strategy to address the triggers that have already been sold.

Biden Bans Importation of Russian Ammunition in Backhanded Swipe at Gun Owners

President Joe Biden’s State Department announced it would deny all importation permits for ammunition manufactured in Russia on Friday, with the department citing the alleged 2020 poisoning of Russian political dissident Aleksy Navalny.

The ammo ban serves as a de facto punishment for American gun owners for alleged corruption and misconduct on the part of the Russian government. Ammunition manufactured in Russia has consistently been the cheapest available since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic in 2019, with brands such as Tula and Wolf offering steel-cased rounds in the .223 caliber at prices well below their western competitors. Steel-cased ammo is easier to manufacture than rounds cased in materials such as copper.

ATF Tried To Ban Guns By Changing Meaning Of 'Firearm'

Joined by Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie, over two dozen Republican House members on the Second Amendment caucus issued a comment denouncing a new proposed rule by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) that would outlaw homemade guns, develop a backdoor gun registry, and regulate gun parts with a background check.

The proposed rule, the “Definition of Frame or Receiver and Identification of Firearms” was presented in May and signed by Attorney General Merrick Garland. Public remarks on the rule closed Thursday.

ATF Now Labels FRT-15 A Machine Gun, Turning Law Abiding Citizens Into Criminals

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) decided that Florida company Rare Breed Trigger, LLC's special trigger is converting semi-automatic rifles into machine guns.

FRT-15 is a drop-in trigger for an AR-15 rifle and forces the trigger to be reset. The force reset dramatically speeds up the rate of fire of the rifle.

On July 26, the ATF sent a letter to Rare Breed stating the FRT-15 trigger has been classified as a machine gun under the National Firearms Act and that Rare Breed needs to cease all sales.

NRA's 'unabated' corruption justifies shutting it down, New York says

The National Rifle Association has failed to root out rampant internal corruption, even after a bankruptcy case designed to avoid that obligation was thrown out, New York Attorney General Letitia James said in a court filing seeking to dissolve the gun rights group.

In an amended complaint filed on Monday, James said the NRA’s concealment of questionable transactions, awarding perks to longtime Chief Executive Wayne LaPierre and other insiders, disregard of good governance, and evasion of accountability have “continued unabated” since she sued the nonprofit last August.

The amended complaint was filed after U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Harlin Hale in Dallas dismissed the NRA’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy case in May, calling it an improper effort to gain an “unfair litigation advantage” and avoid James’ oversight.

BREAKING: Trump Congratulates Missouri Gov For Pardoning McCloskeys, Who Defended Themselves From BLM With Guns

45th President Donald Trump issued a statement congratulating Missouri Gov. Mike Parson, a Republican, for having the courage to pardon U.S. Senate candidate Mark McCloskey and his wife. The McCloskeys gained national fame last year, when they used firearms to defend their home from a trespassing mob of Black Lives Matter protesters during the heat of the George Floyd-inspired riots that gripped America for much of 2020.

“Congratulations to Governor Mike Parson of Missouri for having the courage to give Mr. and Mrs. Mark McCloskey a full pardon,” wrote President Donald Trump earlier today. “They were defending their property and if they had not done what they did, their property would have been completely destroyed and they would have been badly beaten, or dead—great going Mike!” Parson pardoned the McCloskey family earlier this month, and the couple is now suing to regain rightful ownership of their confiscated firearms.

AR-15 owners may have to submit fingerprints, register guns and more under new House bill

Nine Democrat members of Congress, led by Florida’s Ted Deutch, introduced legislation (H.R.4953) Friday in the House of Representatives to amend the National Firearms Act to include “any semiautomatic rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine,” such as the popular AR-15.

The move would force owners to be put on a federal registry, submit fingerprints, photos, notify law enforcement officers and wait over nine months for approval, as well as pay a $200 tax, in accordance with National Firearms Act requirements.

ABSURD : Push To Outlaw Hunting In Oregon Underway

How many times have you heard or had to say “the Second Amendment has nothing to do with hunting!”? Well, the Second Amendment has nothing to do with hunting, if you needed to get up to speed. Yes, the proliferation of game animals is a big part of our American heritage, but it wasn’t the deer the framers of the Bill of Rights were worried about protecting the people from. This is relevant because there have been more than one leftist progressive member of the anti-freedom caucus try to equate gun rights to our ability to hunt. There is also a push that would outlaw hunting in Oregon. What do some champions of gun rights have to say about hunting and the right to keep and bear arms?

Progressive Democratic Rep. Cori Bush sent a threatening message to Mark and Patricia McCloskey on Wednesday after the Missouri couple was pardoned for charges stemming from waving their guns at Black Lives Matter protesters - including Bush herself.

'Mark McCloskey is an absolute liar. He has spat on my name and because of that, his day will come,' Bush said on CNN.

She then directed her ire at McCloskey and continued, 'You will not be successful in all that you're trying to do when you are hurting the very people that are out trying to save lives.'

Mexico Sues US Gun Makers For "Arming The Drug Cartels" In Unprecedented Federal Filing

"Guns don't kill people, the cartels do..." or so we thought. Perhaps we could add corrupt government and police officials do too, by facilitating or turning a blind eye to the soaring violence which has long made Mexico rank within the top 20 most dangerous countries in the world based on murder rate.

But apparently Mexico officials think it's in reality the US gun companies to blame for fueling the violence with their products. Bloomberg reports Wednesday, "Mexico filed a lawsuit in a U.S. court Wednesday against Smith & Wesson Brands Inc., Glock Inc., Sturm, Ruger & Co. and other major gun manufacturers, accusing them of contributing to gang violence south of the border."

The companies stand accused of wreaking havoc in Mexican society "by persistently supplying a torrent of guns to the drug cartels," according to the civil suit filed in a Massachusetts federal district court.

Mexico Launches $10-Billion Lawsuit Against U.S. Gun Makers

Taking a page from gun control activists, the Mexican government is now suing several U.S. gun companies in federal court in an attempt to pin the blame for cartel violence on American-made firearms. Smith & Wesson, Glock, Barrett Firearms, Colt, Sturm Ruger, and Beretta are all named in the complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Boston on Wednesday, which alleges that the companies are making guns that they know will end up in the hands of drug cartel members south of the border. -- The Mexican president won’t declare war on the drug cartels, but instead he’s declaring war on U.S. firearms manufacturers. It would be nice if we had an administration that would push back, perhaps with sanctions on the country for failing to stop the cartels from exporting drugs to the United States, but with Biden in the White House its far more likely that the administration will end up rooting for the Mexican government to see success in our federal courts.

Why Biden’s New Eviction Moratorium Should Worry Gun Owners

I’d like to believe that if the administration was bold enough to try this scheme, the courts would quickly shut down their plans, but there’s no guarantee of that happening. And now that Biden himself has demonstrated that pandering to the Democratic base is more important than safeguarding the Constitution, I’d say the odds of his administration trying at some point to put his gun ban into effect without a vote in Congress just went up considerably.

Durbin Nixes Second Hearing For Chipman As Dems Circle The Wagons

It’s only remarkable if you think the Washington Post’s editorial board wants to inform readers about why Chipman has yet to get the backing of all 50 Democrats in the Senate. If, on the other hand, you believe the Post’s editorial board exists to advance the Democrats’ agenda, then the fact that paper is ignoring these allegations is completely unsurprising. -- Of course, if the media won’t accurately and honestly report on Chipman’s troubles as a nominee, just imagine what they’d be willing to ignore if Chipman is actually confirmed as permanent director of the ATF. That’s yet another reason why Chipman’s nomination should be rejected by the full Senate, though I suspect that argument has more resonance among those already committed to his defeat and not the handful of red state Democrats who are still publicly on the fence.

Washington Post Defense Of Chipman Reinforces Need To Defeat His Nomination

Give this to the editorial board of the Washington Post: They made it clear what they think of those who wish to exercise their Second Amendment rights when trying to salvage the nomination of David Chipman. But by doing so, they did Chipman – and themselves – no favors. If anything, they justify the opposition to his confirmation. -- Let’s make it clear, the Washington Post, in pushing this avowed enemy of the Second Amendment, has made their animus – one Chipman shares – towards Second Amendment supporters clear. We’re “gun obsessives” with a “toxic obsession with firearms” who also suffer from a “pervasive denial of reality.”

Gabby Giffords Marks 10th Anniversary of Return to Congress, Pushes Gun Control that Did Not Stop Her Attacker

Gabby Giffords on Sunday marked the 10th anniversary of her return to Congress by pushing gun control that did not stop her attacker from acquiring the firearm he used to almost take her life.

Giffords was shot in Tucson, Arizona, on January 8, 2011. She returned to Congress on August 1 of that same year.

On March 4, 2015, Breitbart News pointed out that Gifffords’ attacker passed a background check to acquire the gun he used in the heinous act. The Christian Science Monitor noted the attacker bought the gun at a Tucson gun store and the manager of the store made clear the background check did not turn up any red flags.

Yet Giffords and her husband, Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), have spent the years since her attack pushing background checks.

How Gun Control Swung Ohio Red

While guns were clearly not the only issue, it was a key one. Again, folks in Ohio love their firearms. It’s part of why now-Governor Mike DeWine can’t get his relatively tame gun control proposal to go anywhere. Even as little as DeWine’s bill seeks to accomplish, it’s still more than Ohio lawmakers care to bother with. -- And I believe we’re going to find that more and more states will be right behind Ohio. There’s only so much pandering to the furthest reaches of the left you can do before the rest of the country just says, “Screw it!” and turns on you, especially when it comes to a basic civil liberty.

Left-Leaning Think Tank Wants Feds To End Campus Carry

The proposal to change the Clery Act is predicated on the idea that more guns equal more crime. I’m curious whether the Center for American Progress would acknowledge it was wrong if we found no statistical difference. I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t, though. -- After all, gun control never fails in its mind. More than that, though, gun rights are always wrong as well. With that foundation, it’s kind of hard to acknowledge everything you believe about guns is wrong.

America's running out of bullets: Nation faces ammunition shortage as gun sales continue to soar

The COVID-19 pandemic, coupled with record sales of firearms, has fueled a shortage of ammunition in the United States that's impacting law enforcement agencies, people seeking personal protection, recreational shooters and hunters - and could deny new gun owners the practice they need to handle their weapons safely.

Manufacturers say they're producing as much ammunition as they can, but many gun store shelves are empty and prices keep rising.

Ammunition imports are way up, but at least one US manufacturer is exporting ammo.

Mitch McConnell Calls for President Biden to Withdraw David Chipman Nomination

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) asked President Joe Biden to withdraw David Chipman’s nomination to head the ATF on Thursday.

Gun Control Activists Downplay Gun Control As Solution To Crime

For a movement that views banning firearms as the fundamental lynchpin of its ideology, gun control groups don’t seem to want to talk about it that much these days. Is ABC News Getting The Picture On Gun Control?

It also happens to be true. Pretty much all of it. Still, it’ll be nice while it lasts.

Is The Second Amendment Racist? Some “Thinkers” Tell Us It Is

This new attack against the Second Amendment is predicated on the inane theory that the right of the people to keep and bear arms was created by Racist white men to keep oppressed black men enslaved. This idea is of a piece with everything else that Neo-Marxists fault America for: the entirety of our Nation’s history, heritage, and culture that they seek to tear down, to pave the way for the shell of what it remains of a once-proud, powerful, and wealthy and healthy, and exuberant independent, sovereign Nation and a free, sovereign people, to be merged into a transformative, transnationalist, Neo-Marxist, Globalist political, economic, social, and cultural governmental scheme, reducing the citizenry as a whole to a sad existence of poverty, misery, and, curiously enough, slavery, too.

New Poll Shows Californians Souring On Gun Control

California has the most restrictive gun control laws in the country, but those laws don’t matter much for criminals. The state is in the midst of a surge in violent crime, and news stories regularly feature criminals who were prohibited by law from possessing a firearm yet managed to do so despite the state’s universal background check law, ten-day waiting period, and even a program that’s designed to specifically take guns from known prohibited persons. -- According to a new Los Angeles Times/UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies poll, the current crime wave appears to be having an impact on Californians’ views on gun control, as support for the state’s gun laws is slipping.

More Trouble For Chipman As ATF Agents Confirm Complaint About Racial Bias

Chipman never should have been nominated in the first place, but the Biden administration knew that with a bitterly divided Congress and razor-thin Democratic majorities in both chambers the executive branch was going to have to take the lead on guns, and the gun control lobby view Biden’s presidency as a golden opportunity to place one of their own at the top of the food chain in the agency overseeing the firearms industry and enforcing federal gun laws.

Biden ATF Nominee 'Frustrated' That Gun Owners Have Freedom of Speech

Democrat Joe Biden's nominee to run the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has a long history of anti-Second Amendment activism.

In 2019, Biden's ATF pick David Chipman appeared on British news network BBC to attack President Donald Trump and law-abiding American gun owners.

Speaking on national television, Chipman complained that it is "frustrating" the U.S. government cannot violate people’s right to bear arms if they use “hate speech” on the internet.

"The frustration is in the United States the freedom of speech and to say things is largely cannot be regulated,” Chipman said on BBC.

"…We have to do more to monitor hate speech on the internet," he added.

Remington Reaches Historic $33 Million Settlement With Families Of Sandy Hook Victims

Remington and the families of nine victims from the Sandy Hook school massacre, the second-deadliest school shooting in US history, have reached a settlement that was years in the making: the gun-maker and manufacturer of the Bushmaster AR-15 used by shooter Adam Lanza will pay a total of $33MM. Divided up among the families, that comes to $3.66MM each (before the lawyer's cut). The families insist the money is no substitute for the brutal killing of their loved one.

According to Reuters, the settlement must still be approved by the Alabama judge overseeing the Remington bankruptcy case. The plaintiffs allege that Remington's marketing contributed to the shooting. In a February court filing, the plaintiff's legal team argued that the value of their claims could exceed $1 billion, including punitive damage - a pretty obvious negotiating tactic.
