"In whatever arena of life one may meet the challenge of Courage, whatever may be the sacrifices he faces if he follows his conscience – the loss of his friends, his fortune, his contentment, even the esteem of his fellow men – each man must decide for himself the course he will follow. The stories of past courage can define that ingredient – they can teach, they can offer hope, they can provide inspiration. But they cannot supply courage itself. For this each man must look into his own soul." -- Profiles in Courage
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is defending new rules ordering schools to provide in-person learning during the current wave of viral illnesses, saying a clear, measured response is crucial for students and parents.
"We need a normal school environment for our children, and we need to make sure that the classrooms stay open to be able to support our parents," Smith said at a news conference in Medicine Hat on Friday.
"That's why we made the decision that we did — to give that clear direction."
Her comments came a day after she announced regulatory changes saying school boards must provide in-person learning. Schools also can't require students to wear masks in school or be forced to take classes online.
The Telegraph has published a detailed analysis of the sector, detailing the challenges it faces and how the Princess’s own Centre for Early Childhood is working to improve the lives of young children and those who care for them.
It follows research compiled by the centre highlighting a widespread lack of understanding about the importance of children’s earliest years in their development.
Experts now argue that early intervention is the key to improving life outcomes for all, with one study by the London School of Economics estimating that it costs £16 billion to remedy long-term mental and physical health issues that may have been avoided through intervention in childhood.
The Princess, under her former title of Duchess of Cambridge, has already undertaken a series of campaigns to raise awareness of the importance of early childhood, with a regular programme of engagements designed to boost the sector.
This idea seemed strange until it was mentioned that it is following precedent. The state of West Virginia was formed during the Civil War when citizens of the new state didn’t agree with the unconstitutional actions of the state of Virginia which seceded and formed a new country.
The courageous men and women in West Virginia stood strong and created a new state according to the US Constitution. The new state was granted statehood during the Civil War.
The U.S. Declaration of Independence of 1776, the Alta California Declaration of Independence of 1836 and the Sonoma Proclamation of 1846 declared the Right of the People in the states of Alta California and California respectively to throw off the bonds of tyranny.
Constitutional Authority to Act
The current state of California has become governed by a tyranny, which rivals those expressed in the above documents. Therefore the United States Declaration of Independence of 1776, the Constitution as adapted in 1783 by the Congress of the United States of America, the Alta California Declaration of Independence of 1836, the Sonoma Proclamation of 1846, and the California State Constitution of 1848 Mandate the Right, the Responsibility, the Duty of the People who are suffering the long train of abuses and usurpations at the hands of a tyrannical government to abolish and make new a government by the People and for the People under GOD.
Article IV Section 3 of the United States Constitution
“New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new States shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress.”
Milan prosecutor’s office submitted to the court a positive decision on the extradition of the son of Russian Krasnoyarsk Territory’s governor, Artem Uss, to the United States, the Il Giorno newspaper reported on Friday.
Artem Uss was arrested in Italy on a US warrant on October 17. Alongside four other Russian citizens, he was accused of money laundering and evasion of sanctions. The 40-year-old has denied any wrongdoings and rejected voluntary extradition to the United States.
According to the media, Uss during Friday’s hearing stated that he had never been to New York and his last visit to the US had occurred 25 years ago, when he was 14 years old, adding that information provided by the US Department of Justice was false.
Josep Borrell’s plan to construct new transportation corridors between the European Union and Central Asia, which will bypass Russia, will be difficult to achieve due to issues of geography. The EU is already economically suffering because of their refusal to deal with Russia and it can be expected that any corridors bypassing the Eurasian Giant will also face the same issues.
The only other feasible route for an EU-Central Asia corridor is from Greece and Turkey or the Black Sea to the Caucasus and then the Caspian Sea. However, given the immense tensions between NATO allies Greece and Turkey, and the actual conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, this is a region of instability. This also does not take into account other conflicts on the periphery, such as Syria and Iraq, and the decades-long Kurdish struggle for independence. Such destabilisation creates logistical issues.
Borrell visited the Uzbek city of Samarkand on November 17 and 18 to participate in the “EU-Central Asia Connectivity Conference: Global Gateway”. There, he discussed regional partnerships and cooperation between the EU and Central Asia.
Air-defence systems such as the US-made Patriot are needed both in Poland and in Ukraine, Nato secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Friday in an interview for US news channel CNN.
“We need both,” Stoltenberg said when asked if Patriot batteries offered to Poland by Germany should be deployed in Poland or Ukraine. “We need both increased air defence of our Nato allies in the east, in the Baltic countries, Poland, Romania. But also we need more air defence in Ukraine, that’s obvious.”
Stoltenberg also said Nato countries should “further step up” in their support for Ukraine.
U.S. and other western leaders next week will examine ways to reduce allied dependency on China…NATO’s top official said Friday.
“The war in Ukraine has demonstrated our dangerous dependency on Russian gas,” NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg told reporters Friday at allied headquarters in Brussels. “So we must assess our dependencies on other authoritarian regimes, not least China.”

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved CSL Behring’s hemophilia B gene therapy, a one-off infusion treatment with a list price of $3.5 million, making it the world’s most expensive medicine.
The approval of CSL Behring’s Hemgenix “provides a new treatment option for patients with Hemophilia B and represents important progress in the development of innovative therapies for those experiencing a high burden of disease associated with this form of hemophilia,” said Peter Marks, director of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research.
Hemgenix is used for treating hemophilia B patients who currently use factor IX prophylaxis therapy or suffer from serious spontaneous bleeding episodes or have had a life-threatening hemorrhage. Based on clinical trials, the infusion reduced annual bleeds and “94 percent of patients discontinued factor IX prophylaxis and remained prophylaxis-free,” said the company, opening the possibility for the drug to eliminate the need for lifelong routine treatment in adult patients.
Arising from a single gene defect, hemophilia B is a rare, lifelong bleeding disorder with the current available treatment requiring patients to undergo strict, lifelong prophylactic infusions of factor IX. Although effective, patients are prone to experiencing spontaneous bleeding episodes, whereas Hemgenix allows people to “produce their own factor IX,” according to CSL Behring.
California's Air Resources Board has laid out a plan to ban all diesel-powered trucks that would cause inflationary ripples throughout the entire economy.
The plan would mandate that all new trucks operating around busy railways and ports be zero emission vehiclesby 2024 - while all diesel trucks would be phased out by 2035, and eventually, banishing every truck and bus fleet from California roads by 2045, where feasible, according to SFGATE.
Most people are bewildered by what is a global energy crisis, with prices for oil, gas and coal simultaneously soaring and even forcing closure of major industrial plants such as chemicals or aluminum or steel. The Biden Administration and EU have insisted that all is because of Putin and Russia’s military actions in Ukraine. This is not the case. The energy crisis is a long-planned strategy of western corporate and political circles to dismantle industrial economies in the name of a dystopian Green Agenda. That has its roots in the period years well before February 2022, when Russia launched its military action in Ukraine.
In January, 2020 on the eve of the economically and socially devastating covid lockdowns, the CEO of the world’s largest investment fund, Larry Fink of Blackrock, issued a letter to Wall Street colleagues and corporate CEOs on the future of investment flows. In the document, modestly titled “A Fundamental Reshaping of Finance”, Fink, who manages the world’s largest investment fund with some $7 trillion then under management, announced a radical departure for corporate investment. Money would “go green.” In his closely-followed 2020 letter Fink declared, “In the near future – and sooner than most anticipate – there will be a significant re-allocation of capital…Climate risk is investment risk.” Further he stated, “Every government, company, and shareholder must confront climate change.”
In a separate letter to Blackrock investor clients, Fink delivered the new agenda for capital investing. He declared that Blackrock will exit certain high-carbon investments such as coal, the largest source of electricity for the USA and many other countries. He added that Blackrock would screen new investment in oil, gas and coal to determine their adherence to the UN Agenda 2030 “sustainability.”
What all the entrenched insiders in America's parasitic, predatory elites and institutions don't dare admit is that to protect themselves from consequence, we've had to sacrifice everything else.
Thanks to the FTX swindle, we now know the cost of a get out of jail free card in America: $40 million, paid to political elites. It seems even get out of jail free cards have suffered from inflation.
With hefty "donations" (heh) to elites, all wrong-doing is swept under a very capacious carpet. Jeffrey Epstein sprinkled a few million on the elites of Harvard, and he was ushered into this elite circle as an intimate pal. The fact that he was a rapacious predator of children was of no concern. A few million showered on the right people and causes makes evil and criminality disappear.
If a financier looter showers $40 million on "the right people," mouths the "correct" phrases and issues empty promises to give away his looted billions, he becomes an instant golden boy of the right elites who have the power to protect him from consequences.
This is how America works now: in-your-face corruption is not just accepted, it's glorified. Let's score America's wealth and power elites, regardless of party or political persuasion:
US President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky speak often on the phone. But on a phone call in June, the conversation went very differently.
Biden told Zelensky that he had just authorized $1 billion for more military assistance. Instead of thanking Biden, Zelensky complained about what he wasn’t getting and began listing the additional help he needed. Biden, reportedly, “lost his temper.” “Raising his voice,” Biden told Zelensky to “show a little more gratitude.”
There has been much reporting of “Ukraine fatigue” and of concerns about limitless supply of weapons to Ukraine, but this was the first report of tension in the relationship between Biden and Zelensky.
On Kaliningrad and any land corridor, of course, we are there to protect all NATO allies. And that includes also of course the Suwalki gap and both Polish and Lithuanian territory. So to make sure that there is no room for misunderstanding and miscalculation with Moscow about that, we have significantly increased our presence in the eastern part Alliance. And also NATO leaders when they met last week they also started, or asked our military commanders for options for how to further strengthen our presence in the eastern part of the alliance. Because we face a new reality, and we need a more long term adaptation of NATO’s deterrence and defence, including the presence in the east. So we are there to ensure that Russia doesn’t use Kaliningrad, or any other pretext, to launch any kind of aggressive actions against any NATO ally.
Amid reports of a leaked German plan to prepare for war with Russia, a new secret document drafted by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicates that the Eurasian giant isn’t the only superpower Berlin is trying to antagonize. According to Politico, the German government has drafted “a strategic plan for relations with China”, seeking possible ways to reduce the dependence of German companies on the Asian giant. One of the pretexts for this includes accusations that Beijing is supposedly responsible for “massive violations of human rights”. The new leak comes mere weeks after German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s visit to Beijing in early November.
The trip was supposed to be an indicator that Germany does not intend to give up on maintaining close relations with China, as Scholz himself stated during a business conference in Singapore. However, at the same time, he noted that the German government was considering a new strategy to reduce the “risky and one-sided dependency” of German industry on China. The plan includes a draft document (reportedly seen by Politico) that the German Foreign Ministry intends to adopt next year. The document warns that “the Beijing authorities are willing and able to use China’s market power in order to achieve their own interests in relations with other countries.” The draft also claims that China has been “heavily criticized” for what was described as “massive human rights violations” in Tibet and the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
Russia considers the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) one of the pillars in the architecture of international security, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said at a news conference on Thursday.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the Ninth BWC Review Conference, he said, "We view the BWC as an international security pillar. Today, just as 50 years ago, in 1972, when it was opened for signature, its goal is still very relevant - to prevent using chemicals as a weapon," the senior Russian diplomat said.
The important role of this international legal instrument and the demand for it "were confirmed by real life in recent years," Ryabkov said, referring to COVID-19. Given the impact of the pandemic on "the international community and international relations, it is hard to imagine the potential size and scope of the aftermath of any activity with pathogens involving their use as weapons," he added.
The Russian Investigative Committee has recorded weapons supplies to Ukraine from at least 25 countries, most of them NATO members, the Russian Investigative Committee said on Thursday following an operational meeting that took place in the city of Genichensk, in the Kherson Region, and was chaired by the Investigative Committee’s chief Alexander Bastrykin.
"Investigators continue to record evidence of weapons supplies to Ukraine by Western countries. The activities involve at least 25 countries, and 21 of them are NATO members," the statement reads.
The Russian authorities revealed that among the weapons and ammunition provided to Ukraine are 122 mm MLRS rockets, 125 mm tank shells, 60 mm and 120 mm mortar rounds, howitzers and related ammunition, as well as grenade launchers, unmanned aerial vehicles, helicopters, tanks, NLAW anti-tank missiles, Javelin missile systems and other equipment.
RIA Novosti. Volodymyr Zelensky asked the United States for chemical weapons for subsequent use in the Donbass, according to ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ilya Kiva.
"According to a source from the president's office, Zelensky asked Washington to urgently provide chemical weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine , which he is going to use in Donbas. The Kiev regime is in a panic, and they may not be limited to a terrorist attack at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant ," Kiva wrote in his Telegram channel .
The European Parliament voted for a ban on issuing visas for Russian passports issued in new regions of the country, as well as in Crimea and on the territory of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
It is noted that 540 deputies voted for the corresponding proposal, 6 opposed it, and 36 abstained.
The European Parliament has approved its mandate to negotiate with the Council on a legislative proposal on the non-recognition of travel documents issued by Russia in the occupied regions of Ukraine and the so-called breakaway territories of Georgia for the purpose of issuing a visa or when crossing the external borders of the EU.
The World Health Organization has decided to rename "Monkeypox" to "Mpox" at the request of the Biden Administration.
Some within the administration seem to think that people are offended by the name "Monkeypox," and they worry that it could cause stigmas.
Politico reported that three anonymous sources informed them that the name change was at the Biden Administration's behest. Thus, it seems like the WHO isn't even attempting to make impartial decisions about public health regarding this matter. They are flat-out following what Biden's people tell them to do.
Elon Musk may release information on Twitter’s internal discussions regarding censorship of stories about Hunter Biden’s laptop prior to the 2020 election, the newly-established CEO suggested Wednesday.
