Senate Republicans are demanding that the White House pause all federally funded gain-of-function research, which they say may have been responsible for the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, according to a letter obtained exclusively by Fox News Digital.
Five senators sent a letter to Dr. Arati Prabhakar, the director of the White House's Office of Science and Technology Policy, on Tuesday, detailing a need to further evaluate the risks of gain-of-function research, which often includes intentionally altering viruses to be more pathogenic or transmissible as a means to develop preemptive treatments for deadly diseases.
The former Obama administration paused new funding of gain-of-function research in 2014 to "assess the potential risks and benefits." However, it was reinstated by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in 2017, and the senators argue in their letter that a pause is again necessary after the recent COVID-19 outbreak, which they say may have originated from a lab in Wuhan, China.
Voters encountered problems casting their ballots at 70 of the 223 vote centers in Maricopa County on Election Day, November 8, 2022, resulting in long lines and concerns that ballots ended up not tabulated or “misread,” and commingled with ballots that had already been tabulated. Averaged together, the problems occurred in areas where Election Day voting was more than 300 percent Republican versus Democrat. Of those 70 precincts affected, 59 were in heavily Republican-voting areas, and two were Republican-leaning but not heavily, with only nine from Democrat-leaning or solidly Democrat areas.
Arizona Corporation Commissioner Jim O’Connor, who has led the effort to stop the use of electronic voting machine tabulators, said that county officials must resign due to the problems. “Voters of all political parties have been damaged with the gross incompetence or worse conducted by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, County Recorder and Election Director of the 2022 General Election,” he told The Arizona Sun Times. “Reports continue to flood in detailing abuses of voters and our once trusted election procedures. I encourage current office holders at the County to resign immediately. Should they fail to do so immediately, a recall needs to be undertaken after the first of the new year.”
Shortly after the problematic election, O’Connor called for all the Maricopa County Supervisors and Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer to resign. Maricopa County Member-at-Large Brian Ference wants Richer and Bill Gates, chair of the Maricopa County Supervisors, to resign. Robert Canterbury, who unsuccessfully ran against Maricopa County Supervisor Clint Hickman in 2020, is considering starting a recall against Gates.
Today at 11am ET, the first FTX bankruptcy court hearing finally took place in Delaware bankruptcy court before Judge John Dorsey, the official start of what will be a long, complex and unprecedented chapter 11 case; this is what we have learned so far (courtesy of the WSJ and Bloomberg).
In response, Judge Dorsey said he would grant a number of requested motions filed by FTX to help the company manage its bankruptcy, including the to redact for now the identities of customers with funds frozen on the exchange.
FTX management has said it may need until January to compile a complete balance sheet detailing the company’s total assets and liabilities, but some business divisions appear to be solvent. The firm has located approximately $1.4 billion in cash that it says belongs to the business, more than double the figure given in a report to the court last week. Most of that cash - $1.24 billion - is located in the Alameda subsidiary. Investment bank Perella Weinberg has been hired to explore selling any salvageable units out of bankruptcy (earlier there were reports that Tron network founder Justin Sun was eyeing some FTX assets).
FTX's lawyer also said it has received requests from both the U.S. House and Senate to have Mr. Ray appear before Congress in December.
It’s been widely reported that former billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried, the now-bankrupt guru behind the cryptocurrency FTX, was a major player on the Democrats’ fundraising landscape.
He funneled more money to left-wingers than everyone except their favored multi-billionaire George Soros.
Yet a new report suggested that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy used FTX-related donations to help defeat Republican candidates who backed former President Donald Trump — and did so to protect his chances at becoming the next House speaker.
In an article on Friday, the website National File, citing some work by The Washington Post, noted, “Throughout the midterm campaign season, GOP establishment leader Kevin McCarthy used his Congressional Leadership Fund political machine to inject massive amounts of cash into House races nationwide. In doing so, he targeted GOP primary races and even general elections vs. Democrats, in which America First conservatives, aligned with President Trump, were on the ballot.”
The influential sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un warned the United States on Tuesday that it would face “a more fatal security crisis” as Washington pushes for U.N. condemnation of the North’s recent intercontinental ballistic missile test.
Kim Yo Jong’s warning came hours after U.S. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield told an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council that the U.S. will circulate a proposed presidential statement condemning North Korea’s banned missile launches and other destabilizing activities. After the meeting, Thomas-Greenfield also read a statement by 14 countries which supported action to limit North Korea’s advancement of its weapons programs.
Kim Yo Jong, who is widely considered North Korea’s second most powerful person after her brother, lambasted the United States for issuing what she called “a disgusting joint statement together with such rabbles as Britain, France, Australia, Japan and South Korea.”
Kim compared the United States to “a barking dog seized with fear.” She said North Korea would consider the U.S.-led statement “a wanton violation of our sovereignty and a grave political provocation.”
Bad news for the future of medicine and the future of human life. While radical politics had consumed the ‘soft sciences’ and most impractical academic fields, the practical ones, especially the sciences, were generally intact. In the last decade, all of academia has crumbled.
Quotas are everywhere and woke mandates have displaced academic ones.
That means people will die. Because we’ll have doctors who got there by talking about their victimhood, but are not qualified to do anything more than posture and virtue signal about their pain.
Forty-four percent of medical schools have tenure and promotion policies that reward scholarship on “diversity, inclusion, and equity.” Seventy percent make students take a course on “diversity, inclusion, or cultural competence.” And 79 percent require that all hiring committees receive “unconscious bias” training or include “equity advisors”—people whose job it is to ensure diversity among the faculty.
A report compiled by 11 RNC lawyers who witnessed widespread issues in Arizona on Election Day 2022 reveals that Maricopa County had far more problems than they are reporting.
Mark Sonnenklar, an attorney for the Republican National Committee Integrity program in Arizona, and 10 other 'roving' RNC attorneys reported observing problems ranging from tabulators rejecting ballots to hours-long lines for voting, Just the News reports.
The Maricopa County election may be uncertifiable if the accounts of election workers at the polls are true. Multiple Arizona poll workers have come forward, sharing documentation of their election day observations with UncoverDC. These poll workers—an election judge, three clerks, and an election marshal—worked at the same voting center all day on election day. None of these poll workers knew each other prior to working on Election Day. There were a total of 1 inspector, 2 judges, 1 marshal, and 7 clerks at this location. One of the individuals provided a screenshot of the various roles and their duties for reference below:
UncoverDC wrote a comprehensive column about Maricopa County Election Judge Karla Sweet’s observations on November 12. Her letter documents multiple issues at the poll, including tabulator malfunctions, long lines, not following procedures as described in the Election Day Manual, and voters who left the polls due to long waits.
The other election workers who have come forward observed many of the same issues, corroborating Sweet’s observations. Each of their declaration letters is important because each poll worker was located in a different area of the center. Their stories corroborate our previous reporting; these declaration letters present new information worth highlighting. For reference, the declarations are pictured in the gallery below:
Restriction of free speech excelled during the COVID-19 pandemic, when efforts to shut down public discussions and information that countered the official narrative were in full force.
In the summer of 2022, a lawsuit was filed by the attorneys general of Missouri and Louisiana against the federal government, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
In September 2022, a federal judge ordered Fauci and other officials to turn over emails with five social media firms.
Fauci initially refused, stating that the communications were protected by executive privilege. However, the judge ordered that the documents be turned over within 21 days nonetheless. Fauci was also ordered to answer questions posed by the plaintiffs in full.
Saudi Arabia and other OPEC nations are reportedly considering increasing their oil production just days after Biden announced that he would grant immunity to Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for his alleged role in the brutal murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
A production increase of up to 500,000 barrels a day is now under discussion for OPEC’s December 4 meeting, delegates said, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Major tax filing services such as H&R Block, TaxAct, and TaxSlayer have been quietly transmitting sensitive financial information to Facebook when Americans file their taxes online, The Markup has learned.
The data, sent through widely used code called the Meta Pixel, includes not only information like names and email addresses but often even more detailed information, including data on users’ income, filing status, refund amounts, and dependents’ college scholarship amounts.
The information sent to Facebook can be used by the company to power its advertising algorithms and is gathered regardless of whether the person using the tax filing service has an account on Facebook or other platforms operated by its owner Meta.
Each year, the Internal Revenue Service processes about 150 million individual returns filed electronically, and some of the most widely used e-filing services employ the pixel, The Markup found.
Yes, we have Pedophile to the Elites, Jeffrey Epstein’s complete black book in addition to the flight logs going to and coming from Epstein’s private island. The picture below is a sample from the “black book” with redactions. We added the highlights.
We also have the unredacted version listing everyone’s name, phone numbers, addresses, and so on. We decided not to make that personal information available at this time.
The contents are a list of 1971 names with with contact information such as phone numbers and addresses. Several VIPs and respected individuals are found in the book. Together with the flight manifests of his private jet, the black book is an invaluable primary source of Epstein’s network available to the public.
Before Epstein was able to destroy it, his butler at his Palm Beach house provided the corrupt FBI with a scanned copy of the black book. The book was available to use for Epstein’s staff at the residence. Listed in the black book are hundreds of names. Following is a very small and partial list of names within the book. The complete book (redacted) can be downloaded as a PDF at the end of this article.
Here are just some of the names listed in Pedophile to the Elites, Jeffrey Epstein’s address book:
Sam Bankman-Fried's FTX, his parents and senior executives of the failed cryptocurrency exchange bought at least 19 properties worth nearly $121 million in the Bahamas over the past two years, official property records show.
Most of FTX's purchases were luxury beachfront homes, including seven condominiums in an expensive resort community called Albany, costing almost $72 million. The deeds show these properties, bought by a unit of FTX, were to be used as "residence for key personnel" of the company. Reuters could not determine who lived in the apartments.
The abortion industry’s claim that post-Roe, state-level abortion restrictions prevent medical professionals from treating miscarriages is “wrong and endangering patients,” experts told the Daily Caller.
The Biden administration began notifying Americans who applied for student loan forgiveness on Saturday that their requests had been greenlit, even as the controversial policy continues to move through the federal court system.
San Francisco Bay Area researchers sued President Joe Biden and the National Archives on Wednesday over the postponement of the release of records on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963.
Two members of the Mary Ferrell Foundation claim in their federal lawsuit that the Biden administration has postponed releasing certain records on Kennedy’s assassination without doing a review of the records or maintaining an accurate index of the redacted content. They say the National Archives and Records Administration violated the John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992 by preventing them from being fully informed on the history of the assassination.
The foundation, based in Massachusetts, maintains the largest searchable electronic collection of materials on the JFK assassination. Plaintiffs Josiah Thompson, a private investigator and author of books and articles on the JFK assassination, and author Gary Aguilar claim the government’s obstruction has interfered with the foundation’s core mission to educate the public.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe met on the sidelines of the Shangri-La Dialogue Security Summit in Singapore on Friday. Beijing’s delegation stated that Taiwan is “part of China.” General Wei’s spokesman explained, “The PLA (People’s Liberation Army) would have no choice but to fight at any cost to crush any attempt of Taiwan to be independent. This safeguards our national sovereignty and territorial integrity.” On his part, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin asked China to “refrain from further destabilizing actions.”
It is worth noting that a side-discussion on the Ukraine War took place during the Singapore meeting. The U.S. has cautioned China against giving material support to Russia. But Chinese support for Russia is already underway as Chinese supplies are flowing to Russia over the Amur River.[ii] At the same time, Russia’s recent offensive moves in eastern Ukraine are threatening to break Ukraine’s over-extended defensive positions. The heaviest fighting during the last several days has been focused around the city of Severodonetsk.
