Update (1300ET): The Financial Times reports that UBS has agreed to buy Credit Suisse after increasing its offer to more than $2bn, with Swiss authorities poised to change the country’s laws to bypass a shareholder vote on the transaction as they rush to finalize a deal before Monday.

The purchase price is a fraction of the $8 billion market cap the company was valued at on Friday's close; it means that UBS will now pay slightly more than CHF0.50 a share in its own stock, up from a bid of SFr0.25 earlier today, but far below Credit Suisse’s closing price of CHF1.86 on Friday.

“I can’t believe our members and UBS shareholders will be happy about this,” he said. “I have never seen such measures taken; it shows how bad the situation is.” 

A shocking article published by The Wall Street Journal in December 2020 has resurfaced.  In it, American physicians admitted to putting patients on ventilators who did not need it as a step in their protocol.  It was done not as a treatment likely to benefit the patient, but rather as a fruitless and callous way of attempting to stop the spread of COVID-19.

European Parliament Member Mislav Kolakusic delivered a fiery speech this week slamming the global Covid vaccine rollout as a massive failure.

“We are witnessing the burning of billions of doses of the so-called Covid vaccines around the world that no one wants anymore,” he told the European Union. “Billions of euros of taxpayers’ money are being burned and nobody asked the citizens anything when those vaccines were bought. No one asked for a permit, not even us representatives who were elected by the citizens to protect their health and their property.”

“It would be better if we immediately burned all the vaccines and saved many lives and the health of the citizens,” Kolakusic continued. 

The latest Twitter Files show that a Stanford-led initiative told social media companies to suppress 'true stories' under the guise of misinformation, such as real instances of 'people experiencing blood clots after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine.'

Seven children were paralyzed by vaccine-derived polio linked to the new nOPV2 polio vaccine developed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, according to health officials in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Burundi and the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI), which on Thursday announced the news.

So much for Credit Suisse thinking it has leverage by balking at the proposed CHF0.25 offer from UBS. Just hours after it was floated that UBS could buy Credit Suisse for $1BN, a proposal which the bank's shareholders balked at, Bloomberg reported that authorities are now considering a full or partial nationalization of Credit Suisse - an outcome which would wipe out the equity and bail-in bondholders - as the only other viable option outside a UBS Group AG takeover.
